Agreed with posters above. I really like him but he doesn't occupy defenders, can't play back to goal, doesn't make runs behind. Lovely touch, skill and technical ability. At the end of the day though he is a 9.5 neither a no.9 or no. 10

This was all true of Van Persie when he was the same age (first season for Arsenal) If the thing holding back a skilled forward is strength at age 22, that's not the end of the world.

It would be a risky move to send them Wan-Bissaka and 60M for him, but there is a real lack of center forwards. I'm not sure I see a safer move anywhere else on the board, really, though won't surprise me if Ten Hag just goes for someone promising and young and cheaper like Rutter or Kalimuendo and builds them up slowly while playing Rashford and Martial a fair amount. He won't want to risk a big failure and surely he's looking for new players at CB, RB and maybe even GK.

Van Persie is a much more natural fit at striker

His argument is that as a 22 y/o RVP coming up was a wide player. Developed into an amazing striker. Nobody thought of him as a striker coming thru feynoord as for as I know. Part of Wenger's genius.

If ETH sees the same in Felix, sure we can go for him.

ETH played with tadic as a striker at ajax and was successful so why not felix?

For me we've already got a few technical maestros in wide positions. I'd rather see somebody with more directness, that's going to run towards goal, and hopefully hold the ball up at times and give an option for Sancho and Antony etc when they're looking for that inside pass. This may be a case of too many cooks I feel. But happy to trust the manager at this point.

Yeah, I mean Felix when he's on, you can see how he'd be a top #9 by the time he's 25 or so. Gapko to me looks like a winger. Doesn't have the same aerial threat or clever ideas back to goal.

For me this is a cherry on top kind of player rather than a player you buy when your rebuilding and still not a there yet . He will cost a fortune and that money could be spent on two very good players. If it’s a loan with option to buy I guess it might be worth a punt.

Rashford - Felix - Antony on paper sounds good but it’d be reliant on Rashford really scoring a lot off the left.

He can do everything Martial does

Everytime I watch Felix, I always saw him showing aggression in his game. So contrast to Sancho.

Nah not for me. Think he's a bit over rated and for the money it would take to get him I'd sooner have Ivan Toney plus change.

If Ten Hag wants him I say we go for it. If anyone can make the most of his talent its probably Ten Hag (and Klopp)

I do think he is a bit positionally ambiguous and I normally don’t like players like that, but I watch our recent matches and think he could bring a lot in linkup play and having a clinical edge in front of goal.

I know that his stats don't show it but I do believe that he has goals in him. His silky technique makes him look like a playmaker when I believe that he is more of a "modern" striker which isn't really a thing with Atlético.

At the very least, he has the work rate because Simone is so demanding and he's a technically gifted player. United need a higher baseline for players who have the proper work rate and technical ability. We're able to play different players for different purposes throughout the season when different qualities are needed.

Felix is a generational talent...ie he is beyond the stats. You need to see him to believe it. We dont need him to score goals, though he can do that. We need him to unlock the scoring potential of others like rashford or anthony and even sancho. He is like Gabriel Jesus at arsenal who actually only has 5 goals but has unlocked saka and martineli....or a Feminio at Liverpool who unlocked salah and mane.

Without a shadow of a doubt, if even he costs 100m and we have it....I would spend it on him. We should not hesitate to swap any players e.g ronaldo or wan bissaka for him because many years go by before players of his ilk ever be on the market again. Dont look at his stats only because he plays in an ultra defensive team like athletico....he needs to play in a free flowing attacking team.

He will absolutely transform our team. He is way better than martial and even greenwood in everything bar goals. He will easily surpass them in goals plus assists stats if we give him the right platform. I actually cant believe people turning their noses on him....you got the chance to sign a top level talent like this, who is this young and we are doubting ourselves....its crazy. If we sign someone like him, we can go beyond thinking about top 4....we can actually dream about titles and CLs again.(if we sign the remaining missing pieces)

Agree with both of these. I don’t care about his numbers, all I see is a 20 goal striker when watching Felix. I think an RvP type centre forward progression is realistic for him.

Could probably perform the role Martial has in his limited time on the pitch. He's potentially a world class player and this would be an incredible signing if in any way possible.

Can he finish off chances clinically? Or is he a hit and hope type like Rashford?

Can he hold the ball up to bring the team higher up when attacking? Or does he give away the ball whenever it comes to him like Rashford?

Surely that mindset died when Lukaku came along?

That was never the mindset, few posters see some random post and then make up things in their mind that "this is the mindset".

We had Rooney, Tevez as CF, before that Saha. After that we had RVP. None of them were big, strong CFs. All of them were technical players with good touch and link up play. Rooney, Tevez, RVP always dropped deep like a 9.5

Then we saw City dominating the league with Aguero as CF.
