Jesse Lingard

Pogba can and has played on the left too to be fair.
For our front 6 positions we currently have, Ronaldo, Cavani, Sancho, Rashford, Lingard, Elanga, Bruno, Pogba, Matic, McTominay, Fred and Mata. Van de Beek seems off on loan so not counting him.

On paper 12 players for 6 positions is fair enough, but out of these 12, four are in their mid thirties, and can't remember when Mata last started in the PL. So I think we need to be looking at getting at least one body in.

I thought newcastle had moved on. I reckon they'll losen the purse strings a bit.

Be delighted if he leaves. Sick of the sideshow for a massively inconsistent player. Brother prison post the icing on the cake. We could’ve sold him. He wanted to stay and fight. One or both of us were idiots. But the fact is he’s milked his United connection for all it’s worth and built his brand on us while we’ve paid him handsomely. If he was an actual footballer he’d have gone to West Ham to fight for his England place. But he didn’t. He’s all about his brand. Prisoner my ass.

I like that we are at least attempting to rid players who may be unhappy and reduce the bloated squad.

It may leave us high and dry if injuries creep in. However if we can create a smaller squad who are willing to put the team over their own needs (or ‘brands’) then we will be better for it in the long term.

Sounds like a permanent deal?
Not necessarily. The talk has always been loan, and he's a free agent in the summer so no chance he returns to us in either scenario.

Are people not really worried about all these departures?

With Greenwood potentially never playing again, how can we let Lingard go also?

What the feck is going on?

We get 1 or 2 injuries and we are in serious trouble.

Thought so too. I don’t mind him as a player because he’s an academy graduate but hope he’s gone tomorrow either way. And the apparent leaks from him about the dressing room is just too much

Where is the source of these apparent leak stories coming from? All I’ve seen is a bunch of people copying each other in saying it

Agreed, I am keen to cut deadwood but this seems to far for too little reward

Needs to leave for his sake. But after today's news about other players, is going to be kept. ? Hope he goes and plays such a good player to be hanging about on the bench.

Agreed but Lingard has burnt his bridges for me.
Not for me. He's obviously been a bit disrespectful but he's definitely been wronged when he got the Donny treatment.

What he did isnt so bad that it's erasing the history.

If Ralf wants him to stay and can get him to change his mind on being fully in it for the next 5 months, fine by me.

What does he want Ralf to say, He already said he was OK with him leaving. He cant put a price on the deal, it is not his job. Lingard should go and talk with Yasir Al-Rumayyan and tell him to pay up.

Give him to West Ham. Helping Newcastle stay up is madness.
Newcastle are probably staying-up regardless given their spending so we may as well make a bit from them. Also finishing below West Ham increases the threat to us ending-up in the Europa Conference league place, which we should be avoiding at all cost.
