Jesse Lingard 'to leave on a free'

Anyone still trying to argue Lingard isn't one of the cnuts leaking stuff to the press can now finally shut up and accept it.

His PR team have gone into overdrive in the last 48 hours, all releasing articles and tweets at the same time painting Lingard as some poor guy badly treated by Utd. It is so pathetic and obvious that it's Lingard talking to journalists, bad mouthing the club.

Cannot fecking wait until this man child is gone.
The thing that gets me is that, yes, he was with the club since he was a kid. And in return he frequently gave minimal effort and was more focused on his clothing line, and taking young players under his wing to join his shit entourage of bantz-friendly attitudes and nights out wearing the contents of a primary school's art cupboard.

The problem I've got is any time I think of a great Lingard moment it usually ends with that fecking horrendous celebration he used to do.

We are really pathetic. One who made Beanz more famous than Beans and put United on the map of dabbing needs a fitting send off.
We now won't see any dabbing at old Trafford. Serves us right.

I don't understand why he is some news. He is average player. Nothing more.

Yeah I totally agree.

I'll admit I always found Lingard a deeply irritating personality around the club. He just came across as so immature and entitled. Being such an incredibly average player and yet launching your own fashion range just seemed ridiculous to me. I also think he's been a bad influence on Rashford in particular.

The gall of him to have come on in games under Ragnick and jogged around doing feck all and then expecting a nice farewell sub appearance is laughable. What did he expect would happen if he did get a farewell? I think hes generally quite an unpopular figure, I don't think he'd have gotten a good reception.

Utterly predictable and all helps with the negotiations with his next club by implying he’s still wanted, but I hope he cuts back on the PR bullshit for his next employers.

He's been hot shite most of his time as a pro here bar a purple patch. Staggering entitlement, when on the pitch for us he's nowhere to be seen. Social media though, every blade of grass even when not playing

Sad the way cnuts on this site have turned on him, not the ones that were always against him, the others that have just gone along with the current narrative. I'm so close to just dropping this site...
 Caf’s own lingard. So any other sites/forums are begging you to sign up for them too ?

He tweeted a picture of himself in a West Ham jersey halfway through the season, he’s been mouthing off to reporters and Scholes even name checked him . He can feck right off .

bye now

Still can't understand why we didn't sell him earlier, West Ham were certainly interested in signing him.

I don't care, I'm here reading endless toxicity over nothing from supposed grown men and watching them justify it. Reminds me why I rarely engage nowadays. But I'm the issue apparently...
Grown men and women who pour their hard earned money, heart and soul into a football club. Think they have a right to come onto an Internet forum and criticise a man with the ego the size of a planet.

If he chooses to disrespect the club he supposedly loves then you’re damn right fans will be pissed off.

He'd probably get the same reception that he got when he branded his Manchester terrorist attack remembrance post with his fecking fashion line.

If he wanted respect from the United fans, he probably shouldn't have claimed to be a prisoner of the club, and he most definitely shouldn't have posted pics of himself in a West Ham shirt.

Jesse's brought this on himself, mate.

There are so many actual issues people have in life, not being given a spot in a match isn't something worth crying over, if he was good enough he'd play. Bubble-issue.

I get the impression this guy refused to move last year and also refused a contract extension so he could leave for free and get a big signing fee. I have no sympathy for him. Could have ended his Man Utd career on good terms but was advised poorly.

I'm not sure that's true, mate. It was fairly well documented that he wanted to join West Ham last summer, but they weren't prepared to meet United's valuation so the transfer collapsed. I could be wrong, of course, but I recall reading something along those lines.

I know it's popular to bash Lingard but I do feel the club handled him poorly in the past couple of years. Possibly it's a management issue (Ole) but we need to be better at telling players they aren't really wanted. That glimmer of hope seems to be enough for some it seems to stay when they aren't really needed or wanted.

A wider problem than just Lingard but hopefully they can deal with it better in the future.

He turned down a move to West Ham cause Solskjær apparently gave him assurances, again we’ll likely get the truth once he’s fecked off and not only leaking his side of the story.

The amount of press coverage this is getting is so weird. I don't understand why his PR team are working so hard. It's actually hurting his image if anything.

Yeah, I heard that too, but those assurances came after the transfer collapsed if I recall. Again, my memory of this is a little hazy. I probably need to stop drinking :nervous:

But those "assurances" turned out to be lies as Jesse barely got a look in. We really should have let him go last summer.

Good riddance to him in all fairness.

Feels let down by the club? We have felt let down by every minute he has featured this season. Him among others did not put the effort in.

For Jesse to now think we left him down, he can go jump off a cliff at this stage. Full of self image bullshit.

Are you kidding?! It's doing great for his image because the press are framing the story as "nasty United once again being nasty."

Someone asked earlier why journalists would frame the story this way for just a fringe player, if there wasn't any truth in it. It's because stories about United get tons of clicks, and negative ones give the usual twats an opportunity to insult the club in the comments section!

Jesse Lingard believes that he ought to have had a send off. After many years of dedication and loyalty... he felt he deserved it. BUT GUESS WHAT! The moment his transfer didn't go through, he's been leaking to the press all the shit in that dressing room. FECK THAT! That is the ultimate disrespect. I don't care how many years you been at United. The moment you turn on the club and decide to advance your own interests... you don't deserve the VIP treatment. Granted he's been done bad by the Glazers and the managers. But the moment he started leaking shit... he became persona non grata. Sorry Jesse. You broke rule number 1. I don't even know, but the evidence points to him being a toxisc influence. You may say that we created this moment and it was our doing... but if Lingard truly loved the club, he would not tarnish the great name of the club.

P.S: his brother is an absolute arsehole

By fans or by media/Lingard PR team, according to you?

I think it is funny to see media talking about him like he was a great footballer.

Certainly the media, but perhaps fed by Lingard and his ‘team’. Or just as likely, as @Mr Pigeon points out, the media just seizing another opportunity to portray United negatively.

Most fans don’t give a shite/are happy he’s leaving.

United handled him poorly. Jesse treated the club badly. Both statements are true. Most fans will back the club over Jesse.

With these media releases time to remove his locker, and refuse him access to anything united. Freeze him out
