For some reason Lingard is the one player who looks like he has the freedom to make good runs and join the attacks. Its probably not a surprise then that Chelsea were caught out, considering it was something they never had to worry about for 3/4 of the match. Very well finished header.

He just can't seem to stop scoring, he simply has to be in contention to be starting for England this summer? We don't have many players who thrive in big games as much as Lingard does.

Offered something that Martial didn't with his movement and we saw that with the goal.

That's the most frustrating thing for me about someone like Martial, he's got way more ability than Lingard but doesn't understand the game half as well.

No, it suggests either Lingard has more freedom, different instructions or simply interprets what Mourinho has told him differently to the others.

Jesse Lingard keeps on proving what people have been saying about him for a long time. His movement and energy are his fantastic qualities and he obviously changed the game when he came on. He added a goal to complete a fantastic sub appearance.
Even without the goal you could see how he changed the game, we were better at virtually everything. Pressing, passing, finding space all improved massively when he came on.

It’s not rocket science. Play our form players in their best positions. We’ve waited for years for Jesse to come good. He finally does and he’s in and out of the team.
He has improved out of all recognition since late November - did well today , hope he can keep it up.
Players get the credit they deserve - when they play badly criticism should be accepted
He’s still being given a chance to show his quality though. Having an impact sub like him is a great thing to have, plus he’s still started plenty of games this season.

Well he's still inconsistent. Great today when he got subbed on, last few appearances were pretty invisible. That's lingard and that's perfectly fine. A very good squad player who will start or not start depending on form.

Pretty surprised he didn't start today. He's made for these kind of games. After the season he's had he should be a starter. He'll have some bad games for sure but he's always capable of a goal. His improvement under Mourinho has been outstanding.
Can't really ask much more of him. Lack of productivity was a major problem for him and he's rectified that in a big way this season.
Like him as a super sub, always rely on him to bring energy against tiring defences
