He is doing a great impersonation of Rooney today, complete with all the misplaced passes, breaking up our buildup, and coming out with the goal! Plus, he is an English player so the media can adulate him too!!

He could score a hattrick and you'd still call him poor. You've been at it for 2 years. :boring:

Nope. I call it as I see it, and he isn't good enough to be starting games for the club. As a squad player off the bench I don't mind but I think we need better. Believe me, I'd like him to be great but just isn't.

Goal is very important, but he also puts in a good shift covering ground. But attacking wise he's been poor. Probably will get sent off too now.

Lucky to stay on the pitch. Got a yellow in the first half and decides to foul exactly the same way again.

BTW you are supporting an English club ..

Honest question, do you ever have anything meaningful to say? Must be the biggest nothing poster on here, which is quite fitting on the Lingard thread aswell.

You seem to be riled up. I'll let it go for now given your clear and obvious anguish at Lingard making you look like a clown again.

You were gutted when he scored the winner in the final last season and without fail one of the top posters in this thread. Stick in there for a while yet. Maybe he'll get sent off today. That'll bring a smile to your face and few more months of rubbish in this thread.

Made me look like a clown? He has been crap apart from the goal, so I very much doubt that. You can let it go, because you know it's true, in fact everyone knows it.

Why don't you go back and check this thread, when he was playing well at the start of the season I was praising him alot when it was rightly deserved. But you won't do that, because that will take effort. You just like to make pointless comments rather than contribute positively to the forum.

In fairness, two years of constant shite does stand out more than a couple of weeks. But whatever... You're dislike of him is quite obvious. I'll leave it at that.

Haha yeah I thought so. Got no debate and clearly proven to be a troll so bye bye.

Ohh, no disrespect was meant toward the English or anything English, which I admire and love. It was just a comment about the English media adulating English players. It does happen, you know.

Scored in the 3rd final for us in a row. Still though, he's obviously not good enough for Manchester United and should be replaced by X, Y or Z foreign flavour of the month.

scored another goal in the final , could easily be the winning goal too, we just decided to be shocking defensively. That's Lingard, he is that kind of player who will just pop up with a goal and work hard for the team, sometimes can have a good game, sometimes can be average, that's why he's a good squad player

Lingard's goal showed what he's capable of, his Miss what we've come to expect. Lingard lacks composure. He's talented but so often he looses his head at vital moments. He could and should be more effective given the positions he occupies and runs he makes.

Good composure for his goal - awful composure for his miss before he came off - which I felt was the easier chance. He has the nack of being in the right places at the right time - but his overall play needs improving. Still happy that he scored in another final though

I thought he was underwhelming today. Granted his took his goal well, but his composure and positional awareness was off the pace. Lucky to stay on the pitch after the second trip.

His goal scoring record at Wembley is bizarre.

He must have more goals at Wembley for Utd than at Old trafford

He"s scored 4 at OT, 3 at Wembley, 1 at Chelsea, 1 at Shrewsbury and 1 at Newcastle

The highest placed team he has ever scored against was Stoke at home last season when they were 9th

Took his goal well but missed another really good chance, on the whiole he didn't play all that well, the lack of Mkhi knitting the attack together was noticeable.

Good to have around the sqaud both because of his Manc roots as well as his seemingly infectious personality. He seems central to a great team ethic that is emerging.

Despite being abit underwhelming he scored 2 great Wembley goals and now has 2 winning medals: thats fantastic winning experience to have acquired.

Hope he develops further - certainly has a bright future at the club.

The thing is he has been poor for two years though. The guy is likeable and I want him to do well but in reality he's pretty meh goal or no goal.

As lightweight as they come. If we could only start him at Wembley finals and sub him right off after he scores that'd be great.

I'm sure I said during the week he'd score at Wembley, he's done it again :D.

Very decent player and another example of people thinking to be a good team you can only have 11 super stars .

He works hard for the team covering ground and keeping things ticking and also she's important goals at the right time .

Luckily Jose rates him and he is our manager and not most of the redcafe posters

Goal aside its been a pretty poor performance..

That's the bottom line from today. You could argue he was played in the wrong position and should have been swapped with Mata but, goal aside, he lost the ball time and again, created nothing, did little defensively and missed a gilt-edged chance to put us three up before half time.

I've been defending him as a squad option for some time but am starting to lose faith in his long term future. I think it comes down how much you value having 'United' players as part of the squad. Even fans of his must admit that if a foreign player made Jesse's contribution the knives would be out for him. He has scored some good goals at key times but he's certainly not part of our best eleven so is he making enough of an impact as a squad player?

It wasn't a particularly good all-round performance from him today (in great company there though) but he made a telling contribution. Crazy that a quarter of his Utd goals have been scored at Wembley.
