It took an incredible save to deny him a goal and he took the chance very well considering the pace on the ball. Was feeding on scraps for most of the game.

You talking about the header? If so, what the actual feck? :wenger:

Yeah. He should have scored. Some save by Cech, but you have to score from that range. I thought his touch was poor most of the game and struggled to get into the game. He wasn't helped by crap service, but he was disappointing.

He was unlucky with the chance in the second half, one of those ones where you just have to say fair play to the gk, but overall I thought he was poor, offered little in terms of build up/as an outlet and couldn't really fashion many chances for himself, but to be fair the supply was limited.

Carrick played two games in 78 hours, Jones isn't creative, Nani had a mare and Welbeck makes the impossible stuff look easy, but easy stuff look impossible.

Hernandez had no real support

It's not just chances, his all round play was very poor, he was nowhere near Welbeck to collect numerous of headers Welb won, his link up play didn't exist, and his touch reminded on his last season.

He should have scored, was only denied by an unworldly save from Cech. That would have changed the whole game too.

Quite game from him today. We really didn't bring him into the game enough and he was basically fed a few scraps and that was about it. He only really had two decent chances, one where he did most of the work himself before slipping and the header where cech managed to somehow keep it out. Plus a speculative effort from range.

I can't remember even any half chances other than those three that we managed to create for him.

Another big game he plays so few minutes in, I mean I'm not saying he would saved the team or played better than RVP/Rooney but when we have good options like him, why not use them a little earlier ?

Can only agree. Put him on for Rooney 10 mins earlier and he might have a chance of pulling a rabbit out of a hat. He's a great goalscoring substitute but you cant put him on with 5 mins to go and expect him to earn you points all the time.

Hernandez is the striker we need when we are not playing well.

He doesn't need the build up and all that. He can be not involved in the game for long and come up with a goal suddenly.

If I were him, I would consider my future at OT.

We probably need to give him a run now, when the team is playing like this.

Hope the lad won't leave. Seeing our 2 strikers fecking up up front so badly in the last few weeks and still getting no game time must be frustrating for him to see.

If you were Chicharito, would you not switch clubs? Things aren't that likely to change next season, RvP will still be around.

I would play him up front with Rooney in the next few games. The lad needs a chance.

Agree re Chicharito playing.

Disagree about Rooney. I would bench him for the rest of the season, he's been a major disappointment.

It's something I don't understand at all. Even yesterday it took Fergie ages to bring him on even though we were clearly struggling up front. Fergie has this moments of madness I cannot really understand and refuses to play certain players at all, he goes overboard with this. The same thing is currently happening to Kagawa who simply cannot get any time whatsoever.

I agree Sarni, Ferguson is forever going on about rotation and the likes of Chicharito giving him selection problems.

How about, Sir Alex, you bench Rooney and start playing the likes of Chicharito and Kagawa, and maybe even play Welbeck in his proper position instead of fecking him over on the wing???

It's always fecking Rooney, even when he plays shit.

RVP has been worse than Rooney lately. He should be dropped for Hernandez, at least for one game. Rooney already knows hes not undroppable, but its starting to look like RVP is. Its not good for motivation to realise that he can contribute nada and still get the nod ahead of other players - why should he step up if that is the case? Drop him.

They should BOTH be on the bench whilst Kagawa and Hernandez start at the moment.

Don't quite get why Rooney is getting so much stick. I would argue that RVP is the most out of form striker right now.

RVP was obviously outstanding at the start of the campaign but that's the whole point of rotation, to be able to change things when players go out of form.

I'd prefer Hernandez and Rooney up top for Stoke.

Also agree that Welbeck deserves a couple of games in his favoured position.

Or we could just go mental and play Hernandez, Welbeck and Kagawa and drop both Rooney and RVP as neither are playing great. With us needing an immediate response this weekend I can't see them both getting dropped though.

Because the top paid players should get the most scrutiny. It's as simple as that.

Completely agree, just seems to be that Rooney is in for more criticism than RVP right now when I don't actually think there is much between them as they are both out of form.

Javier Hernandez says his frustration at not starting for Manchester United will never affect his performances.

The Mexico striker's opportunities have been limited since Robin van Persie's arrival, and his eight Premier League goals this season have come from just six starts.

But Hernandez has told Sir Alex Ferguson he will be ready when called on as United aim to close out a 20th English title success.

"All the players in the world want to start every single game," he said.

"I am happy to be at this club. Of course I would love to start more often but I will keep the same attitude.

"When the gaffer wants me on the bench or the starting line-up I will do my best. My attitude is going to be very good because I want to respect the club, my team-mates and the coach."

The lad is just so likable.

I love Chicharito and I really don't want to lose him. I'd rather keep him and bring in a top midfielder, rather than part with him as a make-weight for Falcao, who we really don't need (brilliant striker though he is.)

I'm with you there.

I understand where you are coming from but if this falcao thing is real. I would take him any day over Hernandez.

I would feel sad for him, but hey it's Falcao one of the best strikers in the world.

I get what you are saying and it's what I said last year regarding Hernandez and Welbeck when we were looking at RVP. Right now however we're not talking about Hernadez and Welbeck vs. a World Class forward, we're taking about one of Rooney or RVP being moved for Falcao and well, feck that.

The balance between the 4 strikers right now is as perfect as it can get.Falcao's inclusion will not necessarily make United better or make United score more goals.
Things are fortunately not that simple in football

Rooney has to go if Falcao comes in. Doesn't make any sense to let cheech go. Falcao wont come to replace his role.
