Januzaj | Confirmed: On Loan at Dortmund

Yeah, but then it would be stupid for United to loan him out at all. He can be that player at United as well, no need to send him somewhere else. And Dortmund won't ever prefer him over their own players if he's definitely gone again next summer. No need to develop him if he's not staying.

Yeah exactly. From a United perspective it makes no sense at all imo and it's completely unnecessary to get rid of him so late in the window now. We can assume that we will maybe add another player today, but I doubt it and still if we accept a loan before that it will just make every other transfer more difficult and will result in paying another crazy fee. It seems like we are in "Levy mode" and just need to do something for the sake of it on this last window day.

If this happens, I feel that it means we are bringing in a number 10 alongside Martial.

So is this happening or not? Germany transfer window closes in just about an hour I guess? Unless for loan moves it is open longer.

I don't think it's longer for loans. But I'm sure something will happen, otherwise Dortmund would not get rid of both Blaszczykowski and Großkreutz.

LVG has been pretty ruthless with our young players; the opposite of what he's done at previous clubs. Change in philosophy from him or a sign he's not too impressed with our youth system?

Or does he want to win a title in the BPL at all costs and is thus not willing to rely on too many youngsters?

As long as there is no option to buy, I am OK with it.

Yeah that's possible. I don't see why he can't keep someone like Januzaj as a squad player though.

Starts the first 4 games of the season...then gets loaned out.

Seriously, WTF? What is wrong with this club? Its a shambles.

LVG already said his minutes would depend on what happens with the transfer window...
Would have preferred him to stay tbh, will he even start for Dortmund.

Search me. I'd never heard of Martial before today and I can't fathom why we're sending Januzaj out on loan with (if reports are to be believed) an option to buy. The place is like Fred Karno's circus.

But that's the problem, isn't it? What exactly happened so far? We signed Martial but also lost Chicharito, so no need to get rid of Adnan too.

News of Hernandez leaving broke before news of Martials arrival...
I'm guessing our new no11 news will break tonight.

One of the most exciting talents we've had come through recently and basically because the manager doesn't know how to use him we're sending him out on loan. Totally bonkers! and made even worse by the fact we look like spending £40m on another unproven player to essentially do the same job, not happy if this happens.

He seems to be having one hell of a strange career arc if he ever does make it here at United.

Better not have an option to buy. Not sure why he's going from one bench to another though.

On paper, this loan move looks like a good idea, but he should be getting some premier league experience. Very surprised that he is not being loaned out to a premier league club.

Looks like this one is more or less finished now, based on the reports coming out right now.

Sam and Jon pretty much summed up my thoughts about this in the two posts quoted below. I've highlighted the most important parts.

I just can't fathom how he can go from being a starter in LVG's eyes, to being loaned out, all in the space of a few weeks.

Really disappointing if this is true tbh. I don't think he should be starting for us yet, but he should be staying and getting minutes.

Upset about this. Even if we bring in a replacement. Hope he fantastic and comes back an even bigger star

Done deal according to "Ruhrnachrichten" and "BILD". No details yet.

Van Gaal might see Martial as a number ten though. We already have Herrera and Fellaini as well so signing someone else for that position seems unlikely.

More likely move Rooney back to no10 with Martial up front IMO. Seeing as he obviously doesn't like Herrera and playing Fellaini up there is just embarassing for a club of our stature. Even LVG will not want the hoofball as our primary gameplan.

I wish him all the best and hope I'm wrong but I think this is a very bad idea.
