Jamie Vardy | One journalist's silly example of someone United could sign on a free this summer but probably won't because he has the wrong profile

Seems a lot of our fans are still in denial about the fact that the club is broke.

We're not spending big this summer - our cash position and debt obligations won't allow it. This is, unfortunately, the caliber of transfers we should be expecting.

Is winning the Europa not potentially a big factor? If we win it and qualify for next season's Champions League that will make a difference of around £100 million for next season?

It will definitely make a difference. I don't think it'll be anywhere near £100m though.

Surely we have enough backups in Hojlund and Zirkzee. What we need is a starting CF.

EDIT: Nvm re-read the actual post. Waiting for some journo to use the caf as a source and get the rumor mill going.

They both are useless as backup and need to be sold if there's good opportunity.

In short-term, I don't mind having Vardy as our backup to a starting CF.

We should have signed Vardy a decade ago. He's horrible, but has been a brilliant PL striker and cost Leicester peanuts.

I'd take him only if he gets everyone on the squad addicted to Red Bull.

It'll probably feck up their health but it might actually give them the (sugar-high) boost so that we don't start games like we're 2-0 ahead.

May as well get Cavani back rather than him
Still got it

If you think you are having a barren time with no strikers, imagine where I am, also with Hojlund/Zirkzee but also now with Darwin instead of Suárez and Cavani.

Wet dreams is all I get these days.

I'd definitely pick up the jersey if we signed him, tell you that much. Would be a fun conversation piece

Jamie Vardy and Calvin lewin are realistic option under Jim glazer

Mateta from Crystal Palace, is probably the type of striker most suited to Amorim's style of football. Strong, can occupy both centrebacks, can hold up the ball, can run the channels, can run in behind. Jamie Vardy is nothing like him. Therefore not what we would need at all from a striker in a amorim team.
