One things for certain, we'll spend a lot, and it'll be exciting.

Really hope we can't possibly have such a pathetically low shots to goals ratio again though.

I went up 9 times, and saw 2 wins.

2/9 at Old Trafford!

Before this season, I've probably done 40odd games and seen 30 wins! Moyes managed to ruck my very good record up with at least 4 losses in his season

Yeah this summer is going to be a muppets dream. I predict a Nani, Anderson, Hargreaves, Tevez summer.

He doesn't have a chance there with Modric and Kroos in midfield, they don't play number 10 players as Casemiro is needed to give the midfield stability, but has been good any time he enters the field.

You're right the competition at Real Madrid is so tough. There's nothing really to be ashamed off. I mean he's got absolute quality to contend with.

If this is true, then Jose obviously hasn't learnt, in terms of what formation we're best in and the formation that gets the best out of our players, which, to me, is a 433. I say that because this rumour would suggest Mourinho moving to a 4231.

Having said that, we could still play a 433, and play Rodriguez as a roaming winger - similar to how Isco plays for Madrid. Give him a free role, if you like. That said, we have Mata who does that, and does it very well, in my opinion.

All in all, I don't think we'd benefit from getting Rodriguez. He's not that much of an upgrade of the 10's we've got so far, if at all.
The formation we are best in is contingent on the players available to us now but that will change in the summer with the arrival of new players. Suppose James and Fabinho arrive would you still think a 4-3-3 is our best formation then? I am not decided on this potential signing yet but I think he has positives that can help a team as offensivwly poor as us.

Strongly against this one

Just another Di Maria disaster waiting here.

First season at Real was good. 26 goals/assists in 29 games

Yes. Why? Because our best player (Pogba), in my opinion, plays much better in a 433. When he plays in a 4231, he's just as good going forward, but defensively, he's a liability, at times.

A choice of which player to get on the back of the shirt job.

Some guy i'd only met once convinced me to get Ibra over Pogba, as "Pogba will have more years with us"

Turned out to be good advice.

Yeah I will probably have to go with Griezmann if he comes.

Di Maria Mark II.

That's what I think, too.
Which is why I don't want him here. I'd have Di Maria, because under Jose, I think Di Maria can do some good work as an attacker, but James, in a new team could flop or just give up (which is what happened with Di Maria).

Given our recent record it's hard not to be a little anxious about it all. It's more opportunistic rather than strategic, really, and our history with buying top class playmaker from other countries is really poor. He's a great player though.

It's not the same though. James looks to want to come here.

Di Maria's preferred destination was PSG.

For some reason he does not strike me as someone who will be up for a Stoke or Burnley away in December. We need players of steel who are up for the fight each game rather than just showcase their talent as and when they feel like it.

I feel it we do with him, we need to call him James not Hames.

I guess one thing you could say is that Fabregas was hardly pulling up trees at Barca but Jose needed a creative player and he ended up being a very shrewd signing (for Chelsea) so maybe something similar here? Available on the 'cheap' and maybe better than what we've got (I'm not convinced but James rarely plays so it's not hard to rank a Mata or Mkhitaryan ahead of him)

Then again he's a Mendes client so always the chance this is Gaitan all over again

Agreed. Comes across as a soft arse. Would like to be proven wrong though.

He's one player I've just never been excited about. I'd rather have Isco for double the money.

If we don't have high expectations for him then he might just surprise us. Recent signings that have got us excited have let us down a little bit so you never know it may turn out the opposite. I have voted not to go for him but if we do then it will be interesting to see how he performs.

I don't disagree. There's certainly question marks with his mentality.

I'd be fine with it if he really wants to come and play for us. It's got to be his choice. He needs to communicate that in some way.

Can't help but feel the questioning of his mentality come purely from the fact he's south American.

And what players do scream 'warror!' to you?

From creative players I always thought Sanchez had that mix of tenacity pace and creativity that goes really well in premier league. Was gutted when he went to Barcelona then even more when to Arsenal.

Suarez too.
