James Milner

Isn't transfer threads supposed to be for.. you know, transfer talk? Think the mods have told more than a few people to create a thread about a player if you to discuss them and not use an old transfer thread.

He's a slightly inferior Park Ji-Sung, who cost ten times as much. Has an annoying tendency to play well against us, mind.

Don't think he is inferior to Park tbh. He is basically a more expensive version of Park though.

Not sure why this is brought up in the transfer forum (there are some Milner threads in the General FF)... but I can't pass up an opportunity to criticise James Milner... at his best, he is a very average footballer... in an England shirt, he's generally a waste of a position.

Also, Milner's a good crosser of the ball? Since when? I don't think I've ever seen James Milner actually aim a cross at anyone in the box... he usually just aimlessly throws a ball in with the hope that someone might get on the end of it.

I don't think that's fair. At England level, I think a top international team should be better, but at club level, over the course of a season - he is excellent I think. He is City' midfield version of Zabaleta, one of Mancini's most trusted soldiers.

Rafael--Rio----Vidic----Evra
------Rodwell---Fletcher-----
Valencia----Milner------Nani
------------Rooney-----------

Would be great to see this line-up next season IMO. The foundation of the team british as well.

Hindsight and everything..... ;)

Milner is a good, hardworking player who is a useful squad player for a big side. Comparisons to Park are valid.

For a short spell he took penalties for Villa and was suddenly portrayed as a goal scoring midfielder. Very odd.
