James Maddison | Spurs

We shouldn't have signed Maddison or Mount. Spurs and Leicester fans have had to go into every season knowing that Maddison will miss a third of the season through injury. The difference between the two players in the 2023 summer window was that there was more evidence of Maddison being an injury-prone player.
Yes, people saying Maddison was an obvious sgnings baffle me. One, he plays the same position as our best player, and it just wouldn't work with both of them in the line-up.
And two, he already misses loads of games injured anyway, that'd only increase here.

Yes he might be fit more than Mount, but it still doesn't make it a great signing.

That tap in will definitely have shut Roy Keane up. Spurs are still 12th and will end the season without a trophy as usual. Keane won more as a player than Spurs have since long before I was born.

Maddison has no self awareness at all. I'll never forget him having a pop at Jeremy Clarkson for going bald, and Clarkson was in his late 50's at that point I think - Maddison is going bald now and he's not even 30 yet. The dude's forehead went from landscape to portrait mode in the space of a season at Spurs yet he makes bald jibes to old blokes?

Keane was right though, England do have a massive talent pool to call upon, and he still can't get near it most of the time. That'll hurt Maddison more than a shush will ever bother Keane.

"from landscape to portrait mode" hahahahaha

Yeah Maddison's not as good as Roy Keane was and won't win anywhere near what he did, so for that reason he's supposed to just shut up whilst Keane basically calls him shite?

He scored and did a shush sign back, outrageous.

Maddison is a flat track bully who will rarely show up when the team isn't flying who also thinks he's far better than he really is, no shock Keane wouldn't rate him

That won't be the most popular opinion to read for people on here who love to bemoan transfers that didn't happen. Personally, I'm relieved we didn't sign him in 2023.

He must be a bit of a snowflake if his first thought after scoring a tap in on his return from injury is to go shushing people that slagged him off a couple of months ago. That and being so precious about Maupay copying his celebration that only he is allowed to use

Reminds me of Maguire cupping his ears after dunking on some Andorran market traders.

You’re still 12th, and nothing Keane said was incorrect. Don’t let that stand in the way of your epic banter though, madders.

He's a really good player on his day. It's just that it only seems to be his day every now and then. Seems to have short bursts of excellent form, but that's all it ever is.

Aside from that, he seems to be a bit of a tit. That thing with Maupay was embarrassing. These are grown men, ffs.

I always think of Maddison as a really good player from August-December when nothing really matters too much and then he gets injured and comes back and dosen't do much at the business end of seasons.

That was the case last year and even at Leicester. Was benched for the 2021 FA Cup final and then was on the bench for a few games when Leicester got relegated.

Bissouma also similar. He was calling himself the best CM in the prem when he was at Brighton.

Was allowed a criminal amount of space on Sunday by your midfield. Pretty much the only reason he looked better than average.
