He reminds me of a more vanilla version of Bruno. His set pieces are beautiful though.

Spence & Johnson. Looks like players also.

Everytime I see Garner he looks very accomplished on the ball

He's the type of player who'd come up from the championship, have a good season and then put a £100 million bid in for. Time to stop the bullshit and play this lad next season. His fundermentals are exceptional.

He won a penalty earlier on, although it was largely thanks to some of the most braindead defending I've seen all season.

If Forest can promoted through the playoffs I would be tempted to leave him there and see how he copes with the PL. I really hope they do come up as they play good stuff, don't want another lot coming up who rely entirely on set pieces and a big bloke getting on the end of them.

Commentators keep going on about him being a top class player in the making. lets hope so.

He’s got it - play him next year

Who do people think he projects as player wise? A Mount/JWP type player?

Not sure if he has a work rate and motor like a Mount, but seems to have that potential of contribution levels. JWP comparison due to dead ball delivery and can get up and down central midfield a bit.

My forest mate fan says he’s been unbelievable all season. I think he gets straight into our first team next season or high up on the bench to start.

I hope he stays with the first team and gets a decent number of games next season, I would say maybe the same for Mejbri but I don't think both will be giving many chances next season if ETH is here, due to the first season pressure of needing the team to perform so is unlikely to take risks giving both much game time. The club should send Mejbri on loan and give this lad his chances next season.

Yeah he is proof of what a loan in the Championship can do so think Hannibal needs that next season

I don't think he's at the stage where he could be deployed as a defensive midfielder in the PL.

If he's back, he will be competing with Fred, McTominay and VDB for a place.

He looks a little bit average to be starting for Manchester United right now, needs another season on loan in the Premier League.

How does that makes sense? We have a basic level midfield at the moment with no real player who can play DM or pass.

Not exactly stiff competition.

Garner if given a chance will cement his spot in the midfield. His ability from set pieces alone improves us massively, let alone his all round game.

I'm worried that we're going to actually promote him into the first team. If we do, it means we've learnt nothing still. We need players who are press resistant.

How press resistant is he?
He's definitely proven to be more than good enough for championship, its time to take the next step in his career.

Funnily enough, pretty confident he's played more full matches in central midfield that McTominay, for those speaking of experience.

A midfielder who can receive a pass and pass to another player? Madness.

Assuming we're in the Europa or Conference League next season it would make sense to keep him around to start those games as well as the League Cup, maybe a few appearances in the league and then assess in January. If he's looked comfortable enough then great, if not there should be a few options for a PL loan for the 2nd half of the season.

Personally think he might be beyond the odd League Cup/Europa appearance, we should let him have a season in the PL to see what he’s capable of. If he looks good enough for a top 4 team then we can take him back at the end of the loan, if not we can sell him with a buyback. Bringing him back when he’s going to spend most of his time on the bench would have me worrying he’ll turn into another Henderson/Tuanzebe.

I'm convinced that Garner would already be at least on-par with Fred and McTominay, in terms of what he would bring to the side.

I'd definitely be keeping him next season and probably be looking to start the season with him as a regular. Not getting carried away and saying he is the next Pirlo, but can definitely add something to this squad

Ideally I think be should be loaned out in the Premier League to a team like Brighton next season. Brighton or Palace or Leeds even. Bringing him in to be a bench player at this point is bad development.

Obviously they watch every game but I have to say I've always been impressed with his positioning and tackling when I've seen him play.
Every time I've seen him, to me he's looked more of a deep lying playmaker who needs someone next to him to do the more defensive work (while he does his fair share). So more Jorginho than Carrick IMO. Which is fine, I don't think anyone was grooming him to be the lone defensive midfielder. We need that position long term anyway, Fred is good for now but isn't young anyway. So Garner backing up Fred doesn't change anything for us needing a new DM, but it might help with us not needing a new #8.
