I'm going anti-muppet for a moment.
Sanchoff till next season, then he signs for Chelsea who in the meantime have acquired Havertz and are one of the best teams in the league.
United sign nobody (apart from some prospects) and fail to get 4th place next year.
Pogba again says it's time to find a new challenge. He is sold but we do not replace.
United 2022 and beyond become one of the three teams that regularly fight for fourth along with Leceister, Wolves, and Arsenal.

Not too far fetched i don't think.

Yep. That's enough of the Cafe for one day.

Could happen but if the board has learnt anything these past few years they cannot let that happen.

Ah, another poster with true deep knowledge about a club he barly knows. Adding "Bayern had to save them" into the top tier of the likes of "desperate to sell" and "only posturing". I guess it is fighting head to head with "the norwegian pundit is somehow their official speaker" for the the first place of BS-bingo.

I agree. Once i got huge respect for United, no personal toy like City or Chelski and a history which proofs good work at a football club. But from what i have seen here, such disrespect, for the players, for the clubs work developing into a european powerhouse from being nearly bancrupt... I spotet such arrogance, spining clear messages and informations into delusional guesses, that i have to revisit my image of United. And the good work in football is also long gone, whats left is a folkore about the past and the selfimage that United can still do what they want and don't have to earn or work for anything. A lot of posters tried to provide this thread with true and honest intelligent contributions, but where never heard or even honored with a smart debate, they were attacked. Good luck with that attitude. At least, some can get some comedy out of this thread.

Sir this is a Wendys

Hey i'm just trying to paint a bad but reasonable picture of what could happen if we fail to sign Sancho. I've been on the caf for all of 10 minutes today.
You should've just gone a step further and just said all our players will be lined up and shot.

No-one is signing Pogba.

The smart money is he signs another insane wage deal extension.

Opposite version of Ty from AFTV right here ... Anti-Ty?

It was reported that Palace will sell for £40m. I can't see BVB paying anything more than £40m for him.
Still, an extra £10m goes a long way. We reportedly wanted the first payment to be 70m Euros. Dortmund supposedly want it to be 80-90m Euros. £10m could be enough to make up that difference if they do buy Zaha to replace Sancho.

I am sure we have such a limit on the first Sancho payment as we have a couple of other positions we are strengthening and need to haggle to get the minimum three players signed. While Dortmund probably want to generate enough money from that first payment alone to buy Zaha (or another Sancho replacement) and an extra player themselves.

It's unlikely they'll catch Bayern but they'll need to bring in more than one player if they sell Jadon to us in order to have a good chance at staying ahead of the rest.

Also, slightly unrelated. But while I never usually read into the whole "this player went for that much so this player is worth this much" debate, I would find it a little silly if Nathan Ake goes to Man City for £40m but Zaha, Grealish etc go for similar. I think Palace will hold out for more personally, he's their best player. Same with Villa.

I don't want Jason...

If he runs down his contract, what makes you think he'll sign for us? Especially if we don't really make any progress between now and then as a club. He'll have plenty of clubs battling it out for his signature, whereas there's no guarantee we'll even be able to offer him Champions league football by then. We don't sign him this window and we've lost our chance indefinitely imo.

It would be interesting to see if he did run down his contract. Right now the majority of Dortmund fans seem content with how the board have managed it, but I wonder if they would still feel that way in that situation.

Reports are he's willing to push for the move if we put in a somewhat acceptable offer. We haven't done so. We are being linked to other players. We clearly just can't afford him this summer. Fine. If we are to sign Costa as an alternative though, that would be fecking laughable. This isn't 2016.

Well a few things here, us looking at back-ups is only normal. Costa wasn't a player we instigated an interest in, it's more his agent have reached out to us. And we probably are working on an offer but there are likely a range of moving parts that no one in this caf would know about, and that will take time.

I can't think of a single 100m transfer that did not take several weeks to conclude. Add to that the fact that Dortmund insist on 3rd party liaisons, it's no wonder this is taking an age.

Too many are assuming that silence means nothings happening. That's how negotiations should be processed, when there's noise from the media it usually points to briefs which signifies issues in communication that elevates into public knowledge. No news is good news for a transfer this size.

Screams Toni Kroos with Van Gaal. United just left him hanging with no progress then he just ended up moving to Madrid.

Think even Pogba mentioned this, United dragged the transfer and he thought United weren't even in for him for a while.

But why would you read into what's posted on a forum to this extent ? If you want to grasp fans perspective go to Manchester and have a debate with the locals about the topics that are raised in these discussions. Many use the internet to insult and demean people and clubs but I think you should take it all with a pinch of salt. A few fans online changing your perspective about a club is bewildering.

He's a Bundesliga follower, they're immensely sensitive.

Ed, is that you?

You’re supposed to give us a bunch of lies and excuses, rather than tell us your actual plan

Utd should offer Phil Jones as part of the deal.

Of course, they wouldn't be daft enough to offer his playing services. Instead, he'll be used as gargoyle atop of the stadium to keep evil sprits away.

Kroos would have most likely been our best signing post Ferguson.

Hopefully Woodward learnt from that and silence in this case is something positive. If not, he can feck off and work with signing his obscure sponsorship deals.
