You post like you caught Fabrizio Romano spanking your missus with a ping pong paddle or something.

If they aren't selling why are they still at the negotiation table. Why haven't all the Dortmund /German press come out and say well that's it! Negotiations over, club have packed up and moving on. Why haven't the British press who love a negative story about us not said similar. These things have yet to happen. Romano who is on the side of the agents and Lawyers says it's still being negotiated. It’s one thing Zorc coming out and saying he’s staying and that’s final.
But these repeated statements by the club actually give me more confidence that a deal could be done. Sancho still hasn’t stated he wants to stay or confirmed it.
Dortmund seem to be trying a bit too hard to push the idea that the deal is off (possibly to scare Utd into rushing it). There is no need for them to keep making statements if they genuinely believe the deal is over and that he is staying now. If that was the case, then Zorcs statement would be enough and they wouldn’t comment on it again.
Am I just wishful thinking?
Thing is, we are looking at what he actually says. And we hold him account to this.
It's not really our fault if you're looking at tweets he didn't write and concluding he knows nothing (him retweeting means he trusts the journalists but it's not his work, that's how I interpret this).
There's only one God that I look up to, and it's not Romano.
I don't see anything wrong with what Romano said there. At that stage, we had a personal agreement with Sancho, and we agreed on the 120 million Euro fee. The only thing remaining was the payment structure. Typically, clubs get that sorted out over a span of 2 weeks. We, however, have had this dragged out because the agents probably didn't like our terms. Dortmund have communicated what they have because they themselves have never been involved in the negotiations.
If you're going to blindly deny all of this info, then what do you think United have done regarding transfers so far?
I disagree. They are selling club and they want to get as much as they can. Why to blame them for that? Why should they be "nice" guys and give players without trying to get every euro which they can get. They’ve been complete pricks about it. Getting in front of the media, shoving it all over twitter, getting their players, coaching staff, dinnerladies, to give their 2p on how happy they are Sancho is staying. They can politely reject our request behind closed doors but they clearly enjoy being dickheads about the whole thing.
Reading between the lines, it seems like it is just a ploy to entice Man Utd into hitting the panic button and putting in a bigger offer.
Lots of smoke and mirrors here. Does anyone actually know what United are doing or saying to Dortmund? Do we know what the player has said to his club (as opposed to what some PR officer there tries to spin)? I don't blame Dortmund for setting a deadline, if they really have, it's a seller's prerogative to set price/terms but if Sancho himself has told them he wants to go, I think the matter will move forward. If he has told them he's fine to stay for another year, that's a different matter. The player himself has been remarkably restrained in his public comments, and I think that's a good thing. If he does come, he'll be on the receiving end of some scrutiny and Woodie will get blamed for the price no matter what we pay. If he doesn't come, it will be presented in media as a 'snub' by him and a Woodie negotiating cock-up at least. We're all the playthings of the media in this - the reality is likely quite different. Patience.
None of this makes a difference. Dortmund aren't even talking to United about Sancho. They can say whatever they want for all I care.

I doubt that United would bend over that easily and give Dortmund whatever they want so soon. If anything like that does happen, it'll happen close to the deadline. That's exactly my point. They're saying these things to entice them to come to negotiate on their terms.
My thoughts exactly. I can`t remember anytime a selling club yapped this much to the media about a player that is supposedly not up for sale especially when the buyer has remained completely silent with public statements. They seem to be the ones pushing this deal more than we do. Whatever is happening behind the scenes is anyone`s guess but incredibly naive to think there isn`t more to come from this Sancho sagaIt’s one thing Zorc coming out and saying he’s staying and that’s final.

Is hypocrisy a common Westphalian trait?
Some briefs beginning to come out about club looking to reallocate the Sancho funds into other parts of the squad. It's very dissapointing, but this is looking very unlikely at this stage. Looks like we couldn't negotiate the deal. Was an uncontested shot at probably the best youngster on the planet, missed opportunity
We are Manchester United. Enough said.
Are you referring to Duncan Castles' podcast? Besides that, I haven't seen anything else from United-associated journalists. Some briefs beginning to come out about club looking to reallocate the Sancho funds into other parts of the squad. It's very dissapointing, but this is looking very unlikely at this stage. Looks like we couldn't negotiate the deal. So you think it's of and we should walk away? Some briefs beginning to come out about club looking to reallocate the Sancho funds into other parts of the squad. Close it and don’t come back.I think this saga is done its better if we close this thread. The Woodward handling of this saga showed again how incompetent we are with transfer dealings.
You being negative about this keeps me convinced its actually happening. Thread won't be closed and please stick around to keep the spirits.I think this saga is done its better if we close this thread. The Woodward handling of this saga showed again how incompetent we are with transfer dealings.
The reports say if this can't be done.
Big part to miss out. Stop being so negative! Again!
That's worked the last 7 years.
Exactly. It would be negligent if we were not sounding out backup plans. Until October or we spunk too much of this reported fee on somebody else to afford Sancho it is on.The reports say if this can't be done.

We aren't negotiating a price, though. We're past that stage. What we are negotiating on at the moment is the pay structure. Dortmund want more money up front, but we'd rather pay up less of that so that we can strengthen other areas.they're a club with very little intention to sell for any price apart from their valuation, which is backed up by the use of the intermediary and the slow responses etc.
We are trying to negotiate a price with a team that just doesn't want to negotiate, it seems.
It's not being negative, it's honestly clutching to think it's happening at this stage imo. It's being realistic. We don't have the capability to pay anywhere near what they are valuing at, our financial reports and the current global pandemic justify that and they're a club with very little intention to sell for any price apart from their valuation, which is backed up by the use of the intermediary and the slow responses etc.

I don't think it's all that bad though, it's unfortunate, but I think we'd be just as good if we were to invest in the squad.

The clubs been going since 1878

Sancho can quell all transfer talk and commit to BVB but thus far nothing, which is telling.
