Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Not sure why you’re worried about United not doing business. I’d be more worried about Bayern missing out on all the best German talent if I were you. Reflects poorly on the league if Bayern can’t even attract the likes of Werner and Havertz.

We could have signed Werner like 3 times. Thankfully we went with Sane. As for Havertz, we just lack the funds

We don’t need Haaland. Martial is much better and still only 24. Greenwood has the same killer finishing and is 18.

Comparing Haaland to Martial is a bit silly, as they are so different from each other. I agree on Greenwood, though. If his trajectory doesn't change, you might have your future star CF already in your ranks.
Ironically, he'll have to get past Martial to unlock his full potential

Well, you start off by saying that it's going to have feck all effects on us then you round off by saying the effects are going to be minimal compared to clubs that solely rely on matchday revenue

If you don't understand the difference between those two then it explains your confusion

I never said it would have "feck all effects" on United, I said the effects would be minimal. The confusion lies with you, mate.

According to 'professional' lip readers, ole said today in that training video, believe  it's so on

No, its this need for rival fans to group together against big bad Redcafe to set us all straight. Its a waste of everybodys time. Its not even about Sancho. Everytime German football is questioned, or even a simple player link, the Bundesliga fans come running, ready to scrap.
My problem with this is attacking the English press and Utd ourselves. We havent made anything public, Ole refuses to comment on it. The English press have been muppet killers by refuting every German report about his close negotistions are, wages being agreed etc.
But feck me Dortmund are running to the press every day about 120m, deadlines etc etc fecking etc. Theyre holding press conferences on fecking deadline day, their social media accounts are trolling for no reason whatsoever. Their fans are taking this way too personally.
When Pogba was linked to Madrid, how many soundbites do we have from Ole? Did Woodward ever comment on it?
You cant claim Utd fans are kids when the other side are publically gloating in a one sided PR binge.
Love to see it though.

I doubt you'd see it like that if you were on the other side. The constant belittling of the German league is really hard to bear. I'm watching more international than national football, by the way, but you come across stupid notions like "Werner/Sancho/Havertz only have those stats because they're playing in the Bundesliga, it's so easy to score there, not EPL proven yada yada" so many times that obviously you feel the urge to veto strongly. The world's not revolving around United, you know.

It feels like groundhog day wit this club ever since Woodward was in charge, wasting a great deal of the transfer window just one big name signing.

I am not bothered whether we get sancho or not at this point, i even question how much desire sancho really wants to join us or is it just a case of we will make do for him with no other big club willing to pay the pay dortmund want?

The clause is "only" €60m as well, isn't it? If Ole's still i charge I can definitely see him coming here. If not, it's anyones game really. I can even see him follow in his father's footsteps and go to City to replace Agüero.

Back to Sancho, though. I don't see the "anger" towards Dortmund either. They're playing their hand, and we're playing ours. If we really want the player, we'll get him. The demands are clear. If we can afford him (I believe we can), if we really want him (we do), and he wants to come her (he does), then it's just a matter of time I think. For a pretty penny.

With the exeption that he signed a new longer contract, which contradicts your suggestion he strongly wants to come to United. And yes, its maybe only a matter of time, at least one season.

They are not a selling club because they want to sell. It's because they have to, and the players themselves want to go. Literally the only thing holding this deal back is our unwilling to cave to BVB's demands. It's only funny when you take things personal for some reason.

It seems that BVB don't have to sell him. They sell when they want, and this is not this season. But i know that even more posters think in their sadness that Dortmund have to sell, ignoring the fact that they simply won't. Maybe its better for some dissapointed posters here to adress their anger to the DoF of United. Ah i forget, there is none. So who is to blame? I guess you know the answer.

We will get him it’s just two big clubs negotiating and posturing. I know we all like to laugh at Woodward and Judge but at least they’re trying to get the price down as much as they can. What’s the harm in that? We’ll probably be only signing Sancho this transfer window anyway. Relax guys and have some fun in this thread this is what transfers are all about.

Why does everything have to be taken so personal? Every neutral piece of information published by a German paper get reactions like "These German bastards are trying to play games with us, who do they think they are, I hate them!!".
Zorc using his routine press meeting to talk about the future of "his" own player is seen as some evil attack on United's dignity.
The same with this tweet, the club's position has been made clear, now people, and of course the press, are wondering whether Sancho really is okay with staying or whether he will act up. It's only natural to post a smiling Sancho, to give fans and media a good feeling about it. The German caption was "so, now eyes shut *tired emoji* I guess to announce that they would call it a day now as far as training and Twitter coverage go.

The world doesn't revolve solely around United, often clubs make Tweets or statements solely with their own public perception in mind.

Exactly. None of what Dortmund have done or said is to antagonise United fans. It has been perfectly normal routine stuff that seems to have taken on extra life because of the transfer saga. Some of the muppets are looking way too deeply into things and finding things that are not even there.

First you guys belittle BVB as a selling and feeder club. Then, when you realize that they don't want to sell, you get mad. This is somehow really funny.
Not as funny as this pearler:
United: How much for Sancho?
BVB: 120. We don't want to sell, but we promised Jadon that we will if someone pays that.
United: Hmmm. We pay 50.
BVB: 120. You have time until 10.08. to pay or the deal is off.
United: 70. It's Corona-time. 120 is way too expensive, no one would ever pay that. We also don't care about your time limit or your feeder squad.
BVB: No.
United: Ok, we pay 100. 50 this year, 50 next year. You are a fecking selling club so stop trolling around.
BVB: No.
United: We pay 80. Another 40 if we win the UCL 3 times in a row and Sancho wins 3 Balon'Dor during that time.
BVB: No.

BVB: Time's up.
United: Ok ok, we pay 120, cash.
BVB: No. Time's up.

United: .... 130?

Wow I think you take things more seriously than it actually is. Also, how do you explain that you want Bundesliga to be more competetive but at the same time your team have been taking the best players from the 2nd best team (Dortmund) for the last decade? Isnt that double standards?
It’s not only Hummels. There’s also Lewa and Götze for example.

Your post would make so much more sense if Bayern didnt want to weaken Dortmund by taking their best players time and time again. Lewa went for free, but Bayern tried to sign him When he was still contracted with Dortmund.

Didn’t you try to sign Reus aswell?

I'm not a Bayern fan. Actually I absolutely despise that club to the point that I root for every opponent they face, even in European competitions.

I think you are taking offense where none is intended. People are talking BS because this entire thread is BS. “Sources” that know less than my dog about the internal negotiations of PL clubs, wishful thinking, random speculation, joking around. If you’re after serious football discussion this is not the thread you are looking for.

You may have a point there. Anyway, it's not only in this thread. Been saying this since quite some time in relation to many topics. If you criticize United or a representative of the club (player, manager, whatever) as an "oppo fan", god have merci on your soul.

Where do you get the 'German bastards,' from?

No one hates anyone in other clubs...except Russians and Arabs. Apart from that this place is a haven of tolerance

Most of these are people talking shit about Zorc or the price, why are you even mad at that? BL fans are a sensitive bunch looks like.
What? Who is a sensitive bunch? Are you sure its the BuLi fans of different clubs and not the kids which don't get their new shiny toy?

Take off that tinfoil hat, seriously.

That is the nature of a discussion forum. Everytime - insert club/league here- is questioned, -club/league- fans will come running if they feel they have something to add.
This might be a Utd forum, but it has a very large community of opposition fans. It is not an echo chamber like pretty much every other football forum out there. Some Utd muppet posters on here seem to pity that.
You jumping in literally proves my point!

Can all Bundesliga fans kindly feck off if they are unable to keep things on track. This is the Jadon Sancho thread.

Oh dear, you really haven't been around long enough, have you?

If a club comes in with 120m they will sell. So, I suppose you aren't wrong, they sell when their demands are met, which is when they want. But they will sell, because they put a price on him from the start. So there is no sadness here if we can't get him cheaply. I get it, BVB want to show the world that they can't be pushed around. But... they were ready to sell

I`m not. He`s a top player but he had his chance to join us before plus Martial right now is bang in form entering his prime and Greenwood`s ceiling is just as high as Haaland as he keeps developing. I simply want us to deal with clubs less likely to pull our pants down at every opportunity and I also feel this needs to be the last 80m+ transfer we should do in a while. We need to do business like City and buy in the 60-70m range max from now on

His clause is apparently €60m though, isn't it?

I agree about both Martial and Greenwood. But again, if his trajectory keeps pointing upwards the way it has for the past 12 months, every team in the world should be in for him. PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern München, Man Shitty, Liverpool, Barcelona. The lot. Why shouldn't we as well? Fergies best trait was improving and renewing the squad, year in, year out, keeping them hungry and on their toes. If this means that Rashford, Martial and Greenwood have to rotate a bit more, and leaves James, Mata and that bunch even further behind, so be it.

I mean. If we still play 4-2-3-1 we could be having this squad for the front 4 positions:

Martial, Greenwood, Rashford, Sancho, Haaland.

Martial - Haaland - Sancho
Bruno

Sancho - Haaland - Greenwood
Bruno

Rashford - Martial - Greenwood
Sancho

etc etc etc.
I even think Martial could work as a second striker / false 9 with Haaland, Sancho and Greenwood all playing.

I don't really see the problem, and if it becomes a problem, be bloody ruthless and cynical about it.

But sure. First things first.

Sign this Sancho lad. I hear he's pretty good.

What? Who is a sensitive bunch? Are you sure its the BuLi fans of different clubs and not the kids which don't get their new shiny toy?
In my experience Bundesliga fans are the most touchy fans about to be honest.

With the exeption that he signed a new longer contract, which contradicts your suggestion he strongly wants to come to United. And yes, its maybe only a matter of time, at least one season.

He signed a contract for a lot more money a year ago. I really don't think that means he doesn't want to come here. If that's the case, that he loves Dortmund so much and wants to honor his contract, there wouldn't even be any smoke at this point. He might not want to join us at all for all I know, but every reliable (and unreliable) source out there seems to think he does want to come here.

In my experience Bundesliga fans are the most touchy fans about to be honest.
I tend to agree but then again when they play in a league where the trophy is decided before the season starts then you can't blame them for being a little insecure

Cheeky bid?

I know this is a right ol' Carry On but...
If Dortmund don’t want our millions for Sancho then let us see if Bayer want them for Havertz.
It beats taking this topic up to a thousand pages with the majority of posts sounding like they were written by Vicky Pollard.

I think Havertz sailed for the King's Road a while back.

It does on here? Its literally a Utd forum.
Theres bias from both sides over this, which is weird since theres like 2 Dortmund fans. Stuff like how are Dortmund bad guys for not wanting to sell etc.
Well they do want to sell, its United not paying more up front thats the problem.
Its little instances like that where fans project themselves onto the transfer that give away the need to white knight.

it seems a bit a bit strange for Dortmund to be so absolute in their statements if they are going to sell Sancho later in the window anyway. I still think he'll end up at United this summer, but granted I'm basing it on nothing but gut feeling.

Witsel says he's happy Sancho stays for "at least one more year".

I guess irony and sarcasm are not exactly the strong points of many Germans and maybe German posters in here. I had a couple of good laughts reading stuff about BVB as a fecking small time club bending over to the mighty Bayern. Take it with a pinch of salt fellow German posters. Concerning Sancho I really don´t think that the transfer will happen until next season and I tell you who is responsible: Uli Hoeneß. He really took the piss out of BVB last week and Zorc did bite back. They would become a laughing stock if they accept an offer the next weeks after saying the decision is definitive. Well it would be entertaining if that really happens ;)

We will get him it’s just two big clubs negotiating and posturing. I know we all like to laugh at Woodward and Judge but at least they’re trying to get the price down as much as they can. I agree that it's largely posturing at this stage, but it's not clear if we are trying to drive the price down just to save a few quid, or if we are doing so because it is impossible financially for us to afford the fee Dortmund are asking for.

If it's the former, then the deal will probably be done eventually. If it's the latter, then it's probably dead. Time will tell.
