Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

I am always amazed how people downplay £10m like it's £10..... Participation in the Europa League up to the quarter-finals is estimated to generate around £30m in revenues for the club. So, negotiating 1/3 of that down from a transfer fee is most definitely not something to overlook.

I know it's not our money to spend but people should really think through what they say when dealing with millions...

No strong report on United sending offer for other players, so it's probably Sancho all the way.

It could be disaster though, if this will drag for whole month without any effect.

Remember the idiots saying the 10th deadline was set in stone and there was no way it could possibly happen after that.

Yeah, that too so arrogantly. Woody will see how Dortmund will deal, he wont be talked to after 10th.

It's all just nonsense. When they agree the fee, they will make the move as with any transfer.

Wasn't the whole point of that deadline of the 10th because Dortmund are having a mini pre-season that they fly away for on the 10th? Seems to me it's either by the 10th, or it's delayed until next month when they're back.

Players can leave training camps early. It happens all the time.

The big question is will he be on that plane to Switzerland on Monday? I am really hoping we hear that he has asked to be left out.

Did Fjortoft just go from 'Hey guys, I called my special insider he told me... ' to 'Hey guys I listened to that podcast... '
I kind of like him as a pundit, because he's as enthusiastic as a coke head and sometimes offers an outside perspective, but this is just pathetic attention seeking.

There's too much being made out of that. Dortmund will only be gone for 1 week

and it's not like they are going to Australia, the United States, or Asia, they are going to Switzerland for a week

The point of the August 10th deadline is not that Sancho is out of reach, it's that this is the phase where the preparation shifts from fitness to team building and tactical ideas. Doing that with a player as the centerpiece who won't actually play the season is counterproductive.

It's a true deadline. 10th of August 2021; this deal has next summer written all over it. Maybe January at best.

Who cares if it takes a month, I don't. All that matter is we'll be signing him.
There is worth in getting him earlier to get him training with our squad as soon as possible. That's all I really care about.

It'll be done this window. If he doesn't sign by October 5th, I'll purchase a Liverpool jersey for this season.

He's a complete moron.

I get the horrible feeling that we were waiting for him to force a move and he isn't. Expecting another team like PSG, City, Madrid to gazump us with bucket loads of money at the last minute.

My last post of the day, We need to stay calm, I know it's difficult because we've invested our time into this deal, I plead to you all to stay calm, I think he'll join us soon as well.

He won't wanna go back to City  and Real can't afford him this summer.

Seeing as we have other areas of the team in need of boosting over the window, and that we're seemingly incapable of doing more than one deal at a time, we need to just get this sorted.

CB and CDM cover are vital.

I don't think Dortmund will lower their asking price. They will look like a fool if they drop their asking price below 100m for a generational talent. In the non-Covid-19 world, he would have easily gone for 120m+.

If Ed gets this done in mid September (or even later) for anything over 100m, he is a buffoon.

It is so important to allow young players who are playing in foreign leagues as much time as possible to adequately gel in the new team, and for the manager to instil his ideas and understand the new player.

Haggling over a few million Euros can potentially mean a few points dropped. No fun.

If the asking price cannot be met, Ed should say "No" and move on to the next target ASAP.

Then on another thread they'll be moaning about having to spend £20 on something.

Are you ok? This is literally all in your head

Will be done around 1st October

that's fine in a sense of getting the most money off and frustrating the selling club but if this is the only deal we are seriously working on until then we are letting other bargains slip through our hands negotiating a few million off as close to a dead cert to succeed as we are ever going to get. When does it become a loss of time and resources letting these things drag on. It also makes us look like ponderous negotiators once again. I say if we aren’t going to get this done in good time then go get Chiesa/ Havertz or someone for 50 this summer and fix other areas in the squad. If he doesn’t kill it come back In for sancho next year for 50/60 and run the risk of him signing a new deal/not wanting to come here anymore after we dithered for the second summer running. Or we could end up with 2 great players for the price of one sancho this summer. Might be worth considering.

The window closes on Oct 5th. Two months of blood, sweat and tears in this thread :D
Major signings in the last days of the window is Woodward’s trademark move.
