Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Think there’s a lot of smoke around it for sure. And yea, I’m not any sort of ITK, it is just by chance that one of my best mates is related to senior members at at Elite Project Agency. He was at my house the other day and got a text off his brother and said ‘Sancho’s going to United, apparently Temi said’ - but I can’t speak of the context of the conversation, whether it was definitive info or just more w confirmation of what we all kind of know, which is that some sort of deal is being pursued. I didn’t want to put him in an uncomfortable position by basically begging him to ‘call Temi and clarify for me’ - it is privileged information after all, and it isn’t even like Temi is a friend of mine to be asking for me. He knows that I’m interested in the info though, so I guess if he does hear something (we do a lot of football bets together and I’d imagine he’d want to bet on it if he knows something), he’d tell me.
Cheers for explaining again. Let’s hope your mates info is spot on.

As I’m sure has already been mentioned plenty here... what do we do about Greenwood if he comes? He’s surely as good if not better than Sancho? I’m all for great depth but it would seem a shame to limit either of their minutes.

Greenwood rotating in up top? Martial doesn’t seem to do well with any rotation though.

It's always puzzled me that fans of clubs like Dortmund possess so much contentment in their club being well run and making huge profits from transfers when ultimately it amounts to very little sustained success or silverware. From a fan perspective, my club having a great business model just isn't something I could ever truly revel in and celebrate.
There’s this weird moral superiority boner they get about it and they can’t wait to endlessly post about it on a Manchester United fan forum. Bizarre.

The truth is, Greenwood at 9 is clearly our future plan. He and Rashford are the golden gooses here. If Greenwood improves his play with his back to goal to Ole's content, he will take over sooner than people think.

Can we please not turn this into another “German efficiency” thread. It’s so boring and predictable.

There will be about 60 games next season, if no one gets injured/tired/drops form then that would be 45 starts each between the 4 of them.

It's tricky. The four of them are all top class when in form. But take any of our 3 out and the quality drops enormously. Injuries, 60ish games, they'd all get more than enough football. It would only really be an issue when picking a first XI in the major matches - who to leave out. But it's also a healthy environment to have serious competition.

There are two key sagas in every muppet's career. The one that pops your muppet cherry and the one that breaks your muppet heart.
Yeah. I’ve never been the same since. Always slightly cynical despite desperately wanting to commit!

I'm not sure he's as good as Sancho right now! Let alone better. That's just wild talk.

But if Greenwood keeps scoring, we might start getting very serious doubts about booting 100m into a player just 2 years older than him.

He might be taking Rashford's spot. His passing and movement improved but Greenwood is having a bigger impact.

I don't think anyone was in doubt that we needed a big attacker for the right wing until a couple of games ago.

And while booting 100m out on a guy just 2 years older than our suddenly improving dramatically wonderkid might alarm the board, it's still massively good sense to bring him in.

We can't get caught up in the crazy logic that just because we've won the last 4 league games by 3 goals, that we'll suddenly be able to field the same 3 guys for 50-60 games next season with just Ighalo to come in.

Bring Sancho in, and in between the inevitable niggles, form dropping off and rotation, each of the 4 will still start 40+ games.

We all remember our first :(

De Ligt was my first at the age of 39, I only discovered the Cafe that summer and it dawned on me I’ve been a muppet for most of my life without even knowing it, I saw an F5 button when I closed my eyes at night , I’m not sure finding this place was a good thing or not

How much sorry..? Has anyone at Dortmund heard of Mason Greenwood?

Back to Sancho, he’s only going to improve as well. The one among the four who has the most to fear from the rise of Greenwood is Martial.

Rashford as of now. Martial looks the better player IMO. I think Tony can play off that inside left channel to better effect.

Exactly. Who starts currently if Greenwood is not fit? Dan James is not good enough.

Will be fine with Sancho. 4 quality players battling for the front 3 spots is a good position to be in, with injuries, suspensions and player rest all 4 will play the majority of games.

If Greenwood gets injured we’re back to starting James’s.

Must be about the 10 different poster thats had to point this out.

When james is still your first attacking sub of the bench you have a problem.

The squad isnt good enough. We are one or 2 injuries away from the same dire football before Christmas.

Sign sancho and worry about who starts what games after.

How good would it be to have to leave one of Rashford Martial Sancho Greenwood out? We haven't had depth like that in ages. It would do them all good to have that 1 left over waiting over their shoulders.

Got to get it done now even if we have to shift 3 or 4 to buy him which we may have to.

I think its rashford. He can only play left at the minute. Martial and sancho can play there.

Greenwood and sancho can play right.

Martial and greenwood up top.

Still need him 100% . There will injuries and loss of form and we need to rotate with the match schedule . Get him in and we have one of the most exciting frontline in World football with plenty of options .

Anybody wondering if we need him is bonkers. Let's not forget the last 5 years because of a few positive weeks. Greenwood will be in this team no matter what as long as he's physically able and playing well. Sancho would be our best attacker right now imo although Greenwood is every bit as talented. The guy is absolute magic and will light up Old Trafford.

Greenwood and Sancho are more talented than Rashford and Martial. I think Martial will lose out in the long run though. I could see a front three of Sancho, Rashford and Greenwood interchanging.

Martial will not lose out. If anyone it will be Rashford, but before then Greenwood will have to settle for the rotation slot.

I personally believe Rashford is most at risk long term if Sancho signs. Think all other three are more talented on the ball and better finishers. However it pans out though it will be a great problem to have as plenty of games to go around.

Having a Greenwood/Rashford etc and Grealish coming off the bench instead of Dan James and Mata just elevates us massively. I would love a top DM long term also and Matic off the bench. Then we are looking like title challenging squad.

We must get Sancho 100% for me, anything else after is a bonus.

What will happen to Greenwood? He will continue to develop as a fantastic 18 year old and will get plenty of time under his belly. He is a stunning player. Potentially generational, but we cant expect him to be amazing and consistent at that kind of age.

But having 4 players for 3 slots protects us beyond belief when it comes to injuries, suspension and poor form.

Its not just that, Sancho is a Versatile player so he's able to drop into the Fernandes role and support in the midfield if need be.

If we buy Sancho, we wont be buying another front line player. It'll probably be a center back and thats it.

This.

No one in our squad is capable of doing what Martial is offering us right now.

Say Mason continues in this form. Does Ole scrap Sancho and go for a backup like Adame Traore or Zaha?

It is hard for me to say as I've only seen Sancho play under 10 times.

We'll see. Greenwood is outplaying them both right now, if he keeps it up then it'll be hard to drop him. Martial will lose out in my opinion because he doesn't bring as much when he's not scoring and he fades into the background in games too much. Not to mention that I think Ole has a soft spot for Rashford and any of our youth products.

Traore or Zaha doesn't improve us, we need players that will elevate us further and that's Sancho

I dont think the cost saving will be worth the drop in talent.

Palace or wolves wont sell in league for less than 50 or 60mil if that

United's front 3 on its day is already a match for Liverpool's, add Jadon to that trio and with a bit of luck here and there next season could be a total challenge from Ole.

Most likely what you said. I would prefer an DM rather than a CB, but i believe that we won't sign a lot of players.
