Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

First, this would be a dispicable try. Everyone in the world of football critised Barcelona for thatone (and their move was based on their own stupidness to let Neymar suprisingly go and not planning in the longterm). Second Watzke claimed after that case, that we will not tolerate any actions like this anymore, and given the contract situation, he would let Sancho sit in the stands. Third point: Your try wouldnt remove the clause City has got, so even if you offer huge amounts of money, City has all the oportnunities to offer more and would always be the first choice. To say the last: Sancho extended his contract in the begining of the season to 2022, i can only repeat myself on that one.
We are a club you can work with and are always honest in buisness and to our players, our image in developing youth and run a Club well is as good as us as an buisness partner. If you try something like you mentioned, it will hurt you and the buisness as a whole, if you know what i mean (Sorry for my bad English).
City do have the option to match any bid which would give them first refusal, but Sancho may not want to back there. From my understanding, Sancho couldn't wait to get out of City and was ready to join United before City put a end to that.

I personally don't think Sancho will want to go back to City, especially with the way he left with a cloud hanging over both player and club.

Yeah Sancho can't guarantee game time at City. That's the #1 reason why he wouldn't choose to go there. Imagine if he has a 2-3 game stretch where he underperforms. City have so much attacking power that they will not hesitate to bench him. At United who would he have to outperform really? The spot is basically his if he's bought.

Even if you offer 150mio, he is not getable this summer. We already sell Pulisic, and have no reason to sell another winger. Especially when he just perform like we want and his value will steadily rise and rise.
...

For all your thoughts in the kind of "everyone has a price" and so on you have to take into account, that we do financially good, and need footballers not money. The selling of Pulisic was another great deal, one year left on the contract, a bench player, and he is stagnating since one year, therefor we will get a lot of money.
You have to see it a little bit out of the perspective of Dortmund to have a guess if its possible or not.

I know your Club is desperate for a RW, especialy when it comes to so a young lad with his talent and he is english too. But there will be no option for anyone to get him this summer. You have to plan longterm, have an eye on him, but you will need to buy some other lad if you want to have a new RB for next season.

With a decent DoF it maybe would have been the case that your Club bought him from City, i mean with your RW problem it would have been an obvious choice, wouldnt it? Let it be a lesson and focus on that this will never be the case, cause you install a decent DoF as soon as possible.

A team doesn’t even need a fecking clause in order to take the option to match a bid anyway! What a ridiculous clause!

And that is the problem with the broken transfer system. Just because one team over paid for a player, I don't think it should mean that everyone needs to overpay...

They don’t have to pay anything. It’s a free market system.

On another note: I am willing to bet good money that United sign Sancho this summer.

It makes too much sense for us and him.

The player will ultimately decide where he plays. They all do sooner or later.

Just like Pulisic made too much sense at one point eh.

have to admit, I haven't seen him in live game, but everything I've heard make same think we should at least be in the hunt. I'd never seen RvN live either!

Klopp's full of praise for him and he said he wanted to bring him to Liverpool but City didn't want to sell to a league rival.

If there's any truth in Madrid and Juventus considering high money bids for Salah, I can see that twat going after Sancho.

Sancho would have his pick of clubs. If he wants to go to Liverpool it can’t be helped. I’d imagine us, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal would all be interested.

United wanted him too, all these top clubs could see his talent. You really have to wonder what City's plan is with their youth system. Couldn't they have forgone the Mahrez purchase and risked using Sanchez as a backup. Same with Foden his talent is there for all to see but he only seems to play when the game is completely finished.

End of the day seldom do you see a club plan to keep a player for a specific amount of time with intent to sell (the last example I can think of is Ronaldo), players are purchased during their contracts that's just how the business goes. Dortmund like any other business establishment, will sell Sancho if a very lucrative and profitable offer comes in.

All this nonsense about having money already, we live in a world where everyone wants more. Whenever has a club rejected an offer stating "we have funds we don't need more" which is ultimately the analogy your adhering to. I certainly don't think 70M is the offer, but Dortmund will sell to any club who offer a substantial amount over 100M, it's up to the player which decides his destination

I don't really have a problem with Foden's situation. When I compare him to Gomes, he's getting much more experience and he's getting blended in. That's Foden though. I feel bad for the other youth players who have no chance.

We should just pay whatever it takes, don't want half of the money on someone like Willian...go all in.

We can't let Sancho join horse gobs crew when we are desperate for a right winger ourselves.

Best thing that can happen is Bayern make an offer, Dortmund reject, Sancho kicks off, wants to leave, we come in with the same offer, Dortmund panic sell to get him out of the hands of Bayern.

Come on Bayern, do us a favour and we'll give you Sanchez.

He's one of those rare players that can play equally well in all positions in the attacking half, and assist and score from any of those positions. I think he can even play the false 9 if he works on it.

The best thing about him is his decision making with the ball, which is amazing for such a young player. He would fit perfectly with rashford, pogba and martial, and make our front 4 even more fluid and lethal.

It just shows they don't really care about the youth players, they have money burning a hole in their pocket so they HAVE to spend it.

Mahrez wasn't really required, he's hardly played and could have easily given those minutes to Sancho. But they wanted to swing their dicks and stop anybody else in the league getting him. Their record signing and he's no better than what they have.

Therefore Sancho as a RW seems a tad lopsided in our attacking ability vs Creative ability; more of an attacking/finshers ability on the left with both Martial & rashford prefering to faint & dribble to the left before finishing with the right foot.

Bayern did just fine with Robben (goal-scoring winger) and Ribery (playmaking winger). I don't see the problem.

Especially when Sancho has similar attributes to Ribery (although he's obviously not as good yet, if he'll ever be).

Say an article yesterday that said we'd spoken to Dortmund and they've told us they'd sell for £100m in the summer.

Also, we've made him our number one target.

Think it was the Mirror. I've been looking for it but can't find it .

Sounds like we're at the 'preparing a bid stage'.

There'll be news within 48 hours. :nervous:

You make some valid points but we know that football doesn't work like that. Personally I don't think we will get him, not this summer or in the future, but you can never say never in football. Any club that sustains itself with bargain purchases isn't going to be able to keep its best players, especially if that player has no particular allegiance to that club. If Dortmund reaches a level close to Bayern Munich, then maybe that will become a reality.

£100m, get it sorted Woody.

OK muppets! genuine questions.

Do we really need a player like him? Is this a position we desperately need to address?

Would 100m be better spent strengthening elsewhere?

What would he bring to our team?

I'm not sure he's worth £100m but I haven't seen enough of him to make that an official statement. If the board feel he's worth it then I'll trust their judgement as I do believe Solskjaer, Phelan and possibly Fergie will have some say in transfers this year.

I think he 8s on eof those players who put fear into defences same way martial does on the left, we would open up teams much better had we this type of direct threat on the right.

Nippy tricky winger that can play on the right, just what we need.
100MIL is a big gamble for any young player. If he continues to improve at his current trajectory it will be like signing Rooney - massive amount at the time for a teenager but one which no-one regrets.
Only British tabloid rumours at this point, hasn't earned 'saga status' so I would ignore it until there is concrete news either way in the summer.

You've sold both Dembele and Pulisic as soon as the first big money offer came in?
If Sancho wants to go then you really need to let him go imo. As shown with his move to Dortmund, if he thinks it's whats best for his career then he'll take that next step.
