From a position of strength, you get to assess players with a lot more objectivity as you are probably more of the prize than they are, and are in a position to walk away, and mean it, as opposed to a club desperately trying to claw its way back to a modicum of respectability.
Someone like Sancho, for as good as he clearly is, isn't better than a Sterling, Salah, Messi etc. who play on the right at those clubs, and it'd be him trying to make a case to justify why he can come into a starting xi there, not the other way round.
Opposed to us, who will need to sell him our 'project' and all the other guff because we badly need his quality injected into the side.
When people talk about us having 'no chance' and all the rest of it, they are failing to see the full picture of pros and cons - we have a lot of pros to him coming here he simply won't get at any other so-called elite club. We obviously have cons, like possibly no CL football; a disjointed club and an usettled manager, but it is far from all doom and gloom. There are valid reasons for him to come here.
