Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Scottish sun says it’s now can be done at 95million. Are they in the know or making up as they go?

There’s a Norwegian Twitter ‘journo’ that has sources ‘inside’ Manchester United, i.e. pals with Ole -> Norway is close to Scotland & has a well established air route between Oslo & Aberdeen -> The Scottish Sun is headquartered in Aberdeen...

I’d say it’s concrete mate.

Isn´t Eckner the guy behind Spielverlagerung.de? Sharp tactical mind (although that side was extremely overrated for a time and was made out to be the bible of modern football), who writes as guest writer for publications occasionally but has never really involved himself with transfer talk.

Yeah, he is. The site was quite good for as long as Maric was writing for them. Now it's pretty much a graveyard with few updates. Still, Maric won't complain, it's gotten him a job at Gladbach, which is pretty amazing in itself.

He's a freelancer who writes (terrific) analytical pieces from afar, he's not a man on the ground you would expect to have contact/relationships with players or agents.
You make him sound like a respectable journo then, albeit one who wouldn't necessarily be involved in transfer rumors. So why would he say something about this then, if he had no info? Attention seeker?

'There is a willingness from Sky to keep this story going to deadline day'

Think it'll be done on deadline day. Sancho and Telles would be great end to the window.

He's a young writer who puts out high quality work, but has relatively little recognition outside of internet football nerd cycles. Over last couple of months he seems to have written some articles for English publications.

Along comes a very high profile transfer half the world is following, particularly English people, and he starts coming up with non-committal transfer insights that yield unprecedented (for him) levels of retweets/exposure.

I'm wondering if behind the scenes, Dortmund are desperate to sell and United realise this. I know it's very unlikely but if there is a willingness to sell all of a sudden, coincidently when the dembele links start, will they actually cave and lower their price?

No, they will sincerely hope that you guys get Dembele as it would mean a surprising payday of 10-15 Mil. € for them. It would activate all remaining performance based clauses in the transfer contract between Dortmund and Barcelona (including things like a payment for a Ballon D´or win).

So Darmesh reporting repeatedly that Dortmund are adamant they will not sell Sancho this window.

On the same channel, Mr Cooper “There is clearly a willingness to sell on Dortmund’s part”.

They need to get the whole team at Sky together in morning briefings and agree on the bullshit they are going to spew out because they just look like clowns.

Even if its just a season long loan?

Secretly, Dortmund and Manchester United want this thread to reach 1500 pages at least.

That's the latest on this, folks.

So our back up plan is even less likely to happen than our initial plan.

Sounds like Ed.

If there is a willingness to sell Sancho it's at 120-130M € and no less than that. There's absolutely no interest to do a deal below that amount and everybdoy who's telling you otherwise is a liar. So there's a chance Dortmund will still sell, but not at a discount or a compromise "deal" as Sky puts it.

Even if you offered what Dortmund is asking for, something you are obviously not willing to do, it would still take the player's initiative to actively push for the move to make it happen at such a late date. There has been no evidence of any such intentions from Sancho this summer. He got his major pay-raise and contract until 2023 and seems very keen on playing a successful season at Borussia Dortmund. Furthermore reports from Germany suggest that United is not his definite #1 destination. He is reportedly intruiged by the idea of inheriting Lionel Messi's spot at Barcelona that is bound to become available in 2021.

Why do journos talk like we can get Sancho next summer no problem? Does a clause kick in?
Because of the same reason why we were so strongly (falsely) linked with him this summer. Some of these journals are probably paid by the Board to feed rubbish.

I cannot see it happening. If it happens now, Dortmund will look fools.

You should look back at the summer they sold Dembele to Barcelona. It followed the exact same script until Barcelona paid up and got the deal done in the end.
