65 million upfront with achievable add-ons upto 90 million.

Dont think BVB will accept that.

Maybe they arent brief.

Going out with a statement like " negotiation are ongoing, united hasnt met dortmunf valuation and still trying" doesnt need you to be briefed.

It's basically a general blanket statement of i dont know much, nothing is official as we speak.

Not every tweet comes from the clubs
Not every tweet comes from the club but when you have the likes of Ducker, Cooper etc dropping a piece which is in sync with each other then it's likely from the club.

surely 65m rising to 90m is a joke eh ? no resolve will be tested with that offer, they have told us the fee they want, they generally get there fee for big players, best thing I can see them accepting is instalments, don't see us getting him any cheaper, that bid will prob make them more annoyed and want it in one payment.

Sky "potentially a bid going on" potentially not then. "Understand it will be well below their valuation" what's changed there then?

Mail talking out their arses as if they've got the details of a bid that hasn't gone in yet.

Can't believe some of the fickle muppets are being sucked back in based on very little new information.

After months of tweets/articles from all these clickbait outlets that have amounted to absolutely nothing why are people putting any stock in rumoured bid amounts from the same places?

Thankfully a week from now it's over one way or another.

I can see us trying to get Perisic in on loan at last minute. No way Dortmund will accept that offer.

It’s €72m rising to €100m.

That’s a great offer. Dortmund should accept.

If it were down to me I would be tempted to structure it so we buy him, loan him back to Dortmund until January but prevent him from playing Champions League so he isn't cup tied when he comes across (assuming we qualify from the Group stage). Structure payments 50% upfront, 20% in January, 15% in July and 15% variable. Benefits:

1. Allows us to block competition for him at a later date
2. Allows Dortmund time to identify and secure a replacement
3. By Christmas they will already know if they need him to challenge for 1st in the league or are resigned to "only" qualifying for the Champions League
4. Enables us to structure cash flows to facilitate the purchase.
5. Helps Dortmund with any immediately pressing financial issues with the upfront.
6. Frees up wages until January to allow more time to find buyers or Rojo, Smalling etc.

It is of course more likely that we will instead offer €95m with €25m of add ons and be told to go away!

The only journalists from The Mail who have any sort of insight on this Sancho story are Adrian Kajumba, Chris Wheeler and Simon Jones. Anyone else writing a Sancho exclusive is doing guesswork at best and the latest article was written by none of the 3 so move on people its not the gospel

Mbappe - Aug 31
Dembele - Aug 25
Bale - Sept 1
Harry Maguire - Aug 5
Lukaku - Aug 8 (League deadline)
Kepa - Aug 8 (deadline day)
Fair enough, all are examples of what I alluded in the first place but were escaping my memory.

Adjusted for inflation in transfer fees, Rooney would've been around £120mill. In terms of % of revenue, higher than what Sancho is today. It was a mega deal.
Didn’t that make Rooney the most expensive teenager of all time? It was a mega deal at the time for me.
You are both right when inflation is factored, and it should be.

Everyone is just guessing the numbers and figures here. Until the bid goes in, no one will know what the actual figures are so calm down muppets. I just hope the bid is offered today or tomorrow morning so that there is enough time for BVB to contemplate and Sancho is ready for Sunday after all the formalities are done

I'm dortmund : no thanks. 120m or feck off

No way we are getting him with those numbers, it looks like we are just trying to put in a bid for show. The fans will not be happy and we are going to go into the season with even more negativity around us than there is already. Good luck Ole..

Agreed United briefed a week ago all the negative social media was unfair. This whole thing sinks of Ed trying with a late bid so they reject it and he can say well he tried. Pass the blame on to someone else, which won’t work. Letting all journos know we’re still in for Sancho keeps us all guessing and stop abusing Ed till 5th October. It obviously won’t work.

You actually believe the numbers being thrown in the press????????

That’s a great offer. Dortmund should accept.

and when it converts to pounds its roughly 65m rising to 90m, would be a great offer for us if they accept, but if you want 120 euros for a player it aint

Let’s just remember Ed and Matt are massive idiots so the derogatory bid is potentially true. Either that or they are incapable of submitting one in the first place

I would rather no bid and a statement saying it is not feasible in the current climate than chuck a low ball one in that gets rejected out of hand.

The first bid two months ago through the intermediaries? Think it was 90M including add ons? If that was rejected, i don't even think BVB would entertain this latest offer. That's why i reckon it's bull. No one knows the real offer at present now except United and perhaps the agents

No official bid has been made. The others were just sounding out via intermediaries, as you said. It was reported that's also why sancho couldn't press the club. He had no reason to as there was no formal offer.

No, not at all, but I can only go by what the media is saying in the end. Also knowing how inept we are at transfers it would not surprise me. It just feels like we are bidding to show we did it and are preparing to be rejected. I really hope they have this transfer sorted and are just waiting, because if we put in a rejected bid this late in the window and end up not getting a RW/RF it will show we have been played again by our club and the toxicity will be insane.
