I certainly think Liverpool will be in the market for a big signing, PSG will look to replace Mbappe as he's desperate to leave, Chelsea have shown a willingness to invest heavily and were previously interested. This summer is our best chance by far.Given you are so certain, please tell me who this other club is and where they will find £108m +
Do your maths including FFP before making such bullish predictions.I certainly think Liverpool will be in the market for a big signing, PSG will look to replace Mbappe as he's desperate to leave, Chelsea have shown a willingness to invest heavily and were previously interested. Just when I thought I was out , They pull me back in !
The foolish ones are the ones who conceded it was off!So Caf is ON again?
People should cut Ed some slack, he’s even selling his massive house to part-finance the deal. That’s a fantastic commitment to the club!

Some of us have never been OFF.So Caf is ON again?
Some of us have never been OFF.
Nah because it means we’ve missed out on 2 months if him settling with the team.Quick question, if woodward actually signed Sancho and say Telles both for lower prices than has been quoted (say 75+add ons & 20 +add ons) would that justify to people his tactics in negotiating the deals?
I.e. would you give credit where its due?

So easy to say when it’s not your money or you have zero financial or career equity in those decisions.Nah because it means we’ve missed out on 2 months if him settling with the team.

As a fan us doing some berry berry shrewd savings of a few millions means diddly squat to me when its impacted results on the pitch. Rather have just paid the price and not lost to Palace.

Yes, he would earn my respect definitely.Quick question, if woodward actually signed Sancho and say Telles both for lower prices than has been quoted (say 75+add ons & 20 +add ons) would that justify to people his tactics in negotiating the deals?

I would wash Ed’s Rolls every Sunday if that was the case.
And you can print that.
Was the “berry berry” supposed to be a Roy Hodgson homage?
Oh yeah FFP, that thing which is being taken so seriously following the example that was made of City last year. Probably also why Chelsea have barely invested this summer..Do your maths including FFP before making such bullish predictions.
It's like receiving a "ok u?" text from a worldie who's been ingoring your messages since monday - of course it means the shag is back on the cards. So Caf is ON again?
I would absolutely give credit for Ed’s negotiation tactics. But I absolutely don’t expect that to happen. I fully expect us to pay virtually the asking price for both players.Quick question, if woodward actually signed Sancho and say Telles both for lower prices than has been quoted (say 75+add ons & 20 +add ons) would that justify to people his tactics in negotiating the deals?

Ah! I was wondering what that clause mentioned was about... thanks for this!Partly from today's Athletic article on that 65m clause
In the small print of File Number 001-35627 lodged at the US Securities and Exchange Commission is a clause that does, on the face of it, in these straitened times, threaten to have some bearing on Manchester United’s approach to signing players.
The document explains the fundamentals of United’s finances and, for those who know where to look, spells out the extra insurance that lenders have over the club’s debt repayment. United owe £175 million on a loan from BofA Securities (formerly known as Bank of America Merrill Lynch) and have £330.8 million outstanding on “senior secured notes” — effectively bonds to investors. The half-a-billion-pound deficit is a legacy to the Glazer family’s leveraged buyout.
To obtain that money at modest interest rates, United agreed a specific caveat with lenders. According to this “covenant”, the club’s profit must not dip below £65 million in a rolling 12-month period, as taken every quarter. EBITDA stands for “earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation”.
So every three months, when United announce their accounts to investors, the total for the previous year needs to be at least £65 million, or the banks have a legal right to act.
Think of it as football’s spin-off to Speed, the 1994 blockbuster. Except, it is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the wheel of the bus rather than Sandra Bullock and the consequence for failure to stay above 50mph is not as explosive.

Does that mean he shouldn’t do all he can to negotiate, especially on such huge sums?I would absolutely give credit for Ed’s negotiation tactics. But I absolutely don’t expect that to happen. I fully expect us to pay virtually the asking price for both players.
I fully expect us to sign neither with someone else signing Telles for 25m and Sancho staying in Dortmund - I don't think we'll fold this time. We're going down with the ship that is the false economy of player value that Ed and Judge have created.I would absolutely give credit for Ed’s negotiation tactics. But I absolutely don’t expect that to happen. I fully expect us to pay virtually the asking price for both players.

End of the day the fans only want the best players for the club - much of the outrage comes from both inactivity and our unrealistic valuations. Not to mention the fact that whilst generating huge revenues we fail to adequately invest in the squad well into the start of the season despite its obvious deficiencies - seems fair to me.Agreed but its interesting to see that some would change their opinion and it speaks to the fickle nature of being a fan I guess
Because Dortmund put an asking price with a deadline of August 10th that was pretty well known for a while. He has 3 years on his contract, he's going to go for a lot whether it is this summer or next so for them, they don't see it as a rush if its not on their terms (plus with the player not pushing to leave). If we bid the asking price why would Sancho need to request a transfer? Odd logic. We give them what they want, they'll pack his bags.
Exactly.Nah because it means we’ve missed out on 2 months if him settling with the team.
Does Sancho prefer the left or right? Greenwood is strong on either side when shooting so I doubt he cares much. I think the only reason he is alway son the right is due to Rashford preferring the left and being stronger on the left. Rashford has not impressed much when playing on the right. When Sanchez was signed he was pushed to the right along with Martial. For his debut against spurs, I think he’ll probably start left wing with greenwood on right and martial up front. Rashford will be rested as he’s looked out of sorts. I’m confident Sancho will score on his debut!
