Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

They’re quite protective of Bayern IIs transfers... er I mean Dortmund’s.
Inferiority complex.

They also have a lot of history with the English.

In the end I think the Germans are secret admirers of the English. They are just too shy to admit it. Its love all around.

Just give us Sancho you can have Hudson Odoi for now

To be fair with the German league being pretty shite and everyone knowing the winner every year already, Bayern fans will probably be protective in a way that they want Dortmund to look a half decent side in order to make their own title win look credible.

I imagine Bayern fans want Dortmund to have a few good players but not too good where it would challenge them. Everyone would accept their league titles as pretty lame if Dortmund didn’t even have a decent team.

I am sure a man who played for Manchester United and coached at the club has better contacts there than the key board experts on twitter. No?
I'm not really sure personally. Think of how many ex players there are, do you think they're all in a whatsapp group or something? I guess if he really wanted to find out maybe he could, but I don't imagine he's going to be too pally with the team of lawyers we send to try and sign players. Only way I could see it would be if Ole or Phelan had mentioned something to him, but why would they when he pundits?

Not surprising people expect our former players to have some inside knowledge. Lets not forget many, including Fletcher have played alongside Carrick & Ole, so its not inconceivable they would have some knowledge.

Fletcher’s pretty close with Ole, is he? I am just guessing though

The group of Evra, Rio, Fletch should be in contact with one another most times for one reason or another

Yes, they're close. Doesn't mean fletch would ring him up from time to time to check up on the latest transfer activity or club gossip

Said in the other Sancho thread, about how it's gone cold, the only noise on a Sancho transfer is coming from Dortmund. I can't help but think that they are the ones showing the desperation here, desperate to sell before this window closes. Dortmund keep briefing the German media about their bemusement at our lack of bid, and how we haven't even spoken to them.

I feel like Woodward and Judge have decided to go for Sancho in January after the winter is out of the way, and when we have a better idea of when fans will be allowed into stadiums again, when they are predicting he will be cheaper than the current price. Dortmund maybe fear the same, that it will be much more difficult for them to command such a fee for him, once we have got through a winter without fans in stadiums, and the possibility of Sancho or they as a club having a dip in form, or us being in good form or even focusing on different targets who have become available.

It's a game of poker, the question is who is going to show their cards first.

What?! There are no briefings (not that clubs in Germany do these kind of things anyway) and the only statements of Dortmund officials are disclaimers when journalists ask them if one of those twitter rumors are true. You know, there's an equivalent to this thread on the biggest German football forum, transfermarkt.de. It was closed after August 10 and reopened after the insider stories that United had agreed personal terms with Sancho (to the bewilderment of most fans). There hasn't been a single post in it since 5 days. Nobody talks about this over here and that's because this rumor is dead in the German media landscape.

By the way, not saying that this has any meaning. But your theory is definitely as far from the truth as possible.

BVB wanted intermediaries in the deal, not United. How are we supposed to communicate directly with them when they themselves don’t want to?

It's a case of "he said", "she said".

BVB also said that United have not made an type of offer for Sancho and are bemused by United's approach.

Yea it's definitely strange seeing that you don't see it in other leagues where legitimate rivalries are still alive and clubs have more pride. Other fanbases typically delight in their rivals losing players.

In Germany it seems like everyone is resigned to being Bayern's whipping boy and feeder system and Bayern and their fans in turn project a weird sort of smug paternalism when it comes to other German clubs. It all comes off a little feckless on the rest of the leagues part.

Honestly, the transfer of Thiago to Liverpool is my favourite move this summer. One of my absolute favourite players in world football right now and I can finally enjoy him doing well. Before that, he played for a club I despise to the fullest.

Thing is, many of you guys are just incredibly ignorant. If you read stuff like "this rumor is only kept alive by German media, obviously Dortmund is briefing them because they're desparate" that's so incredibly untrue that you just have to correct that. Dunning and Kruger would find this thread really, really interesting.

Yeah there's something very weird about the German league fans on here. You definitely don't see this sort of thing with the Real/Barca fans, and you would never see it with the PL fans. Definitely reeks of some sort of complex.

You were convinced that Havertz would move for €90m or not move at all.

When are you going to stop making these ludicrous claims.

Why would they want their feeder club to lose important player? In couple of years they can have him as free transfer.
There seems to be an element of bitterness from Bayern fans as they have no chance of poaching Sancho from Dortmund. Sancho has no interest in staying in Germany. Bayern fans don’t seem to be taking it too well.

Don't know what that has to do with Sancho but no, I said he would move for 100m and I was right about that.

Bundesliga is basically football club version of Human centipede.

I honestly can’t see what enjoyment a Bayern fan (similar to PSG) can have knowing that it’s going to be a standard league victory every season. Literally no adrenaline or excitement about the season ahead. And then just hoping you win a european cup once every decade. I guess that’s why they look for that buzz in protecting Dortmund players instead like some kind of Big Brother.

Also doubt Fletcher would publicly reveal confidential information provided to him by an ex team mate.

Out of interest, what forfeit or act of humility will you undertake if United does sign Sancho this window?

The Real and Barca fans hate each other clubs on here, the Benfica, Porto and Sporting ones too. Seems like only the Bundelisga fans are the exception. This is the most bemusing fact i had learned out of this Sancho saga

Why are we still talking about this? There hasnt been any updates in weeks now. This thread may as well be locked

These idiots (Woodward and his programme notes in particular) should have come out months ago and silenced the talk stating we cannot afford him because of COVID.

And still you invest so much time here and keep posting here on the club’s forum which has incredibly ignorant fans.
Feel free to post on almost every German fan’s favourite PL team’s forum instead (it is called RAWK in case you didn’t already know).

You seem to think I'm somehow emotionally attached to Sancho playing for Dortmund. I'm not. I'm just very bad at ignoring ignorant people and at not pointing out double standards. The fact that you think I'm on Dortmund's side on this one stems from your very own insecurities - you're trying to convince yourself that people bringing up arguments for an from your perspective unfavorable outcome only do so because they're biased. That's the definition of cognitive dissonances by the way. You don't want it to be true, so you're looking for ways to ignore evidence to the contrary. That way you can dismiss otherwise profound but uncomfortable facts and indications.

But I have to disappoint you. I'm not biased and if I saw indications/evidence that this transfer is still probable, I'd happily point that out. For instance, I always said the Havertz deal would happen - and I was much more biased regarding that transfer than this rumor since it revolved around our very own player - an academy product on top of it. Quite ironic because before the window opened, I was completely sure Sancho would move while I saw a chance of Havertz staying.

You think I’m insecure of you? A German team supporter spending his free time on a Manchester United forum  Why the heck are you here for?

Your insecurity is because your team and league is so boring and irrelevant, you think withholding one of your rival clubs players in Bundesliga somehow makes you bigger than EPL and the great Manchester United . That’s so messed up.

I couldn’t give two hoots about German teams or the crappy and financially poor Bundesliga. I just want my club to bring back an English player who plays for one of our feeder clubs.

Your teams are so desperate for Premier league money they set themselves up as crappy feeder clubs. Even the great Munich is heavily reliant on loans.

as for your opinions, they are worth jack shit. German media isn’t the epicentre of football gossip and your teams are only relevant because Manchester United is allowing some of its sunshine to reflect on your crappy league. Once this window is over, that will be it. You won’t matter anymore.

Havertz moved for 70m as has been widely reported.

Not the guaranteed number that you were so convinced about.

When are you going to admit you were wrong about it?
