Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

I said it back when his tweets were dropped in here, he has no idea what's happening with the deal and he confirms it himself here, whilst sat on his toilet by the looks of things. Crap coming out of both ends, who'd have thought it.

we’ve got them exactly where they want us.

Lovely

Blind hope, following our glorious leader @Vault Dweller

Blind hope is the best hope.

Nope.

I just hope we don’t completely neglect RW.

We absolutely need someone there and I don’t believe we would let Chong go out on loan if someone else wasn’t coming in.

If we don't get Sancho (which we will), I hope we don't settle for any less on a permanent transfer. 1 year loan for someone and then get Sancho next summer (but it won't be necessary, as he'll sign for us before october 5th).

I wonder what Sancho's feeling towards the club are at this stage? Appeared to be excited at the prospect of joining United but now having seen the club dick him around all through the transfer window I wonder how he feels.

In fairness - I Think most players understand that £108 million is a lot of money

To be honest I don't think Sancho will give a toss. That's not how high end footballers are wired. Its not as if he came out, burnt all his bridges as Dortmund and has been marooned there. Also, even if he had gone the whole hog and fought for a move, footballers tend to have a similar mentality e.g. in your place I'd have done the same so its fine. You can list dozens of players who have fought for a move and had no blowback, just cos they're really good and footballers tend to prefer to have really good teammates than to lose them.

Footballers tend to leave all the negotiating to their 'camp' so Sancho will just get everything second hand. If his 'camp' says we're clowns he'll believe it. However, if they turn around next summer and say we've got our act together and he should give us a second look he'll believe that too. Footballers at the top end, like celebrities, pay other people to do the worrying for them.

Ismail Sarr will be signed in a panic buy move

It’s not certain this season will not be complete. If covid is as worst like last year and season. So why so spend so much on a uncertain premier league and football season?

Covid has just blow up again and it will be worse when the weather get colder.
Moyes and two West Ham players already test positive. And the weather is not even cold yet. Not a flue season yet.

With United current squad. Is good enough for top 4. But with Sancho, not enough to win premier league title. But again. Not sure this season will be finish. If more players get Covid during this season. Then matches will maybe postpone or delay. Then you have the Euro 2021.

So football like rest of the world. Go into uncertain winter season. And spending big and alot on uncertain seaon and future. I am on the group to save money. Spend big when covid is over or the world have medicine for it.

But spending big in uncertain season. Then Sancho price shall not be over Pogba world record price back then. 90 £ mill.
Kevin De Bruyne price back in 2015, was at 55 £ mill.

So to be really honest. 110 £ mill for Sancho. Its bit greedy. Double as much as De Bruyne.
Yeah the seller can set which price they want. But the buyer can accept it or not.
Personally and really honest. Dortmund value Sancho too high. 115 is maybe 25 £ mill too much.

I patient and be willing to wait another season or few years. To the rising of new really good right wing players.

Ih this uncertain time and future. I will not spend big. Hit your rivals when they are theirs weakest. Liverpool are at theirs strongest and peak. About few years. Greenwood and Uniteds youngster on theirs way to the peak. And Liverpool get two years older. Its all about the timing. So stay home from Dortmund shop and save the money.
I am satisfy with Greenwood, DVB, and Mata as right wingers opions.
When Ole has use Lingard as RW. Why can not DVB play as RW. I have heard many said DVB is versatile. I am sure DVB can do a consistent good job as RW too. Level up from Mata and Lingard.

So Sancho and this covid time is special. Really uncertain time , season and future.

I am satisfy with Greenwood, DVB, and Mata as right wingers options.

It was a very sensible post until this comment...
Basically it's play Greenwood there with no credible alternative.

Heres my prediction:

We'll wait until the last couple of days of the window then go into full blown panic mode. We'll offer Dortmund exactly what they want and then they'll likely tell us to do one as they'll have no time to get a replacement. That will leave us with a few issues until the Jan window opens. We'll return in January and Dortmund will demand even more money which we'll turn round and say no to.

Next season, we'll fight it out with other teams for his signature, and we'll likely lose him to another team. Still, i could be wrong, but thats what i see happening

There’s been no negotiations with BvB and no offer has been made.
Agents beavering away to make it happen, hence the story that personal terms and agents fees agreed, but there’s nothing official.
Dortmund have again reiterated that Sancho isn’t for sale this window and Utd haven’t made any move.
The rest is the usual made up nonsense.

This!

Instead of getting caught up in the noise look at what we do know.

Dortmund have said United have not made an offer (any offer). We've been dicking around with agents instead of going direct to the club.

Agree with @LuckyScout78 on valuation as I mentioned earlier in the thread.

Do not understand the "highly marketable" argument for Sancho. If you want a marketable asset you can purchase Kim Kardashian for £108m and have her play for United. Will make for great publicity and exposure. Sancho is barely known outside Germany and UK.

For the club that gave Beckham and a good chunk of CR7 to the world, Sancho's marketability is low.

BVB wanted intermediaries in the deal, not United. How are we supposed to communicate directly with them when they themselves don’t want to?

I'm still very confident that if we do pay them the money, they'll accept. Even if this is in the last hour of the window. I just don't think they can turn down that kind of money

Tbh, I think if we offered the ask amount that Dortmund have wanted all summer, they will accept it, irrespective of the lack of time to get a replacement.

The whole of Europe will likely be facing a worse second wave, and I'd say short of an absolute miracle that a safe and replicable vaccine is found, most leagues around Europe will be made null and void this year. Every club will be fecked, but we'll be one of the very few who will be less fecked than the others - we have predominantly kept our powder dry, while the others by and large haven't, and our income streams are much less dependent on matchday revenue. This year is the only year that Dortmund can realistically make that specific ask and expect an offer that comes close to it.

With all the brue-haha over Covid right now, I wouldn't even be surprised if Dortmund relented and accepted £80m for him, bearing in mind how the rest of Europe is financially and that the most financially dominant clubs are almost all receding in their spending (we've not spent but will have the reserves needed to spend, Madrid are balancing the books because of their expensive stadium rebuild and saving for Mbappe, PSG, even with the relaxation of FFP still need to shift players in order to comply this year, and Barca... Well, we all know what's happening there).

Next year, I can legitimately see that ask figure going down to £60m.

In the end, I see all of the above being a moot point, because I don't see us budging (and the recent news out Number 10 has more than likely emboldened Utd's position) and Dortmund are well within their rights to stick to their asking price.

Who is usually Sancho's backup at the BVB say last season? Hakimi? Say if they don’t enough time to buy a replacement though i am sure they do

Having a life isn't jumping off the train! Not once have I said its off, don't try and hijack the driving seat, or you'll be forcibly removed yourself. Choo chooo.
I sincerely apologise Chief Driver! Please take the seat and I’ll keep an eye on the passengers. We’ve had a number of jumpers recently and the police are getting concerned.

What a terrible terrible analogy

As I scroll through the pages of the forum of muppets
I take a look at the funds and realize there's not much left
Cause I've been posting and muppetin' so long, that
even Acquire Me thinks my mind is gone.
But I ain't ever post a tweet that wasn't a 4th tier......

and so on.

Beckham was highly marketable , yes. But was he when he first came through the ranks ? Was he known worldwide then ?

Same situation. He was highly marketable because he was a great player, young, good looking, married a Spice Girl. He became marketable. Sancho is marketable because he is an excellent player who is young, good looking, popular with the kids on social media etc. It's about marketing potential when people refer to this in my opinion.

Also, I think this could be dead now. As a fan, I am desperate to get the player. As a businessman, there is no way I would take this level of risk in the current climate, and I don't think the shareholders would thank you either.

I really hope that we are looking behind the scenes to see if we can secure something for the right wing in place of Sancho. As it is I think I am starting to agree with Lucky Scout about his valuation though.

The thing is if we miss out on him surely we’ll be back in for him next summer so while I don’t really want a loan signing it does have its advantages.

I do however think there are good alternatives around Traore, Sarr, Saint Maximin, Boga or Perisic.
Now really we need a creative winger so Perisic might be the best short term loan option. But for excitement Traore would be lovely.

Sarr for me would be a sensible gamble he’s a far better player than he gets credit for and Maximin and Boga are gambles but again certainly offer something different.

Really though I think I’ve reached the point where I just feel numb to the news. If we don’t do anything with RW I’ll be incredibly annoyed but I’ve given up looking for constant updates.
