Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

I don't think any Prem team can afford Mbappe nor will he want to play in the prem, Madrid or Barca will be his destination IMO.

In respects to Sancho, champions league qualification is important, and I think Liverpool will be after him too.

I think Mbappe is most likely to run his contract down to 1-year and then push for a move or just wait it out. He is only signed until 2022 and he'll be 23 then. Move to Real Madrid on a free transfer for a massive signing on bonus.

I'm not sure any club can afford to buy him when he'll have 2 years left next summer.

Can the we can't attract his ilk crowd please do one? According to close sources to the player he would already be ours if we had Cl.
Don't project your feelings on to Sancho.
Dortmund said they wouldnt sell him for anything before the Premier season finished and our fate was known, so thats not true.

It’s extremely unlikely he comes here, we might not even qualify for Europa let alone Champions League. Pogba will go in the summer, maybe DDG as well, we simply won’t be a realistic destination for him.

I doubt we’ll even be in the equation if he does decide to move and if we’re his best option he’ll probably stay at Dortmund another season. Only chance we would have would be if there was a huge spending spree to bring in some top quality players (unlikely) and a top manager who could convince him to join (again unlikely). Sancho to Utd is a pipe dream.

Thanks for proving the point about 90% of people in this thread talking absolute bollocks

I think next summer will be the first time where it's realistic that he will be available for the right price. I also believe Mbappe will become a possibility that next summer. I think Mbappe will clearly be the one everyone will fight over more so than Sancho, and he will go to either Madrid or Barcelona (most likely Madrid), and he will take a big chunk out of their transfer budget, that leaves an opening for a strong bid for Sancho. With Felix and Mbappe locked up, Sancho is the next best young player in the world to get to a top club (no disrespect to Dortmund, but they're not going to hang on to him the way his next club will).

I know that United is not the most desirable destination right now, but I don't know if I'd see him do a Pogba and going back to City. He might be tempted by Liverpool but otherwise I think United has a good shot at getting him and he could be the type of player that changes the dynamic on the team and helps kickstart the revival of this club to the top level.

Of course we can get Sancho. I don't understand people thinking this is beyond United. But of course we need to have a decent season first. Ideally get into the champions league. If we don't, can't blame him if he turns us down. Quite mouth watering imagining a forward line of Sancho, James and a clinical striker...
You answered it yourself about why people are greatly skeptical about the possibility of him joining us.
We might even struggle to get Europa League next season judging on our form of 1 loss and 3 draws for 4 continuous rounds, against non-top 6 teams.

Real will replace Bale with this guy. They wouldn't spend 150 on both Pogba and Sancho. So Pogba might stay and go to Real in a cut price deal in 2021.

PSG might be interested to replace Neymar but he wouldn't want to go there. If Real doesn't spend and we get CL this year, there is a very good chance we might get him. Bit unrealistic at this point of time though.
Madrid have Vinicious, Hazard and that Rodygo kid. They spent big money on all three. Adding Sancho for another 150 million would be a tad strange.

He should definitely be the priority next summer.

But can't help but think the team, and not just the club, matters. He'd be a brave kid to be willing to come to a dysfunctional and mismanaged mess of a team. So hopefully the vibe about us good next summer.

If chelsea finish ahead of Man Utd. No reason why they cant get him. If Liverpool want him no reason why he wouldnt prefer them ahead of United. Barcelona is my guess though as Dembele and Coutinho will be sold next season.

When was the last time we signed a player like Sancho? Young future super star whose name is on everyone's lips?

Unpopular opinion as it can get, but I don’t think he has enough to be the “future super star”. Don’t get me wrong, he’ll be an amazing footballer someday but I don’t think he has star quality.

Is amazing player not enough?

what is star quality?

You can live in a dream world all you want, it’s not bollocks just reality. Too many people have convinced themselves Sancho is coming here based on click bait they like to believe.

Lets see considering they probably sell Neymar next summer, they wont need the money.

Also depends how they do in champions league.

Chelsea could be in the running. A Livepool move makes zero sense. They've got an absolutely smashing front three that has a terrific understand. They're not going to spend 150 million for a rotational/bench player. Barcelona could be an option but again, they've just spent on Griezmann so I'm skeptical. Could happen of course.

I think out of the big clubs we've for the greatest need for him and are among the richest to boot. My worry is that players like him would have seen others like Pogba and DDG who are just spending years and years in a broken dysfunctional team and may not fancy that. Which is why it is key for us to go into the summer with a positive vibe either with Ole impressing or a new manager bump.

In fact, the team that worries me is City. They're not happy with Sane and obviously are rich as feck.

Why would Sancho want to join a non CL team to play alongside McTominnay, Mata,Lingard, Pereira, Etc? We would be in hysteric fits of laughter if Everton fans were insistent they had a chance with Sancho and we'd be right but we are in the same boat as them.....non CL team who look unlikely to become a CL team anytime soon.

I think pretty much everyone agrees that our only chance of signing him is if we show a big improvement this season. We need to get back into the CL at a minimum and ideally look like a team that can compete with Liverpool and City in future season.

Getting back into the CL is a realistic aim but I expect City and Liverpool will leave us in the dirt again this year. Which would make Sancho picking us over them in any hypothetical transfer battle next season unlikely.

Such a stupid way of thinking that. Firstly we're not signing Messi, we're talking about a 20 year old kid who's done nothing in the game, I doubt he has any over inflated ego about the quality of player he should be playing alongside. Secondly are you suggesting Dortmund have a 1-11 full of WC players? Of course they don't, don't try and tell me that Dortmund don't have their fair share of average as well. Thirdly if Sancho were to come next summer he wouldn't be the only arrival, having targeted sorting the defence this summer I have no doubts Sancho's arrival would be supplemented with more starting XI players next summer meaning the likes of Lingard will become nothing more than squad players

I really hope you are right on the part in bold but to buy Sancho may take up the majority or the whole of our budget.

I personally dont buy into there being a budget. I dont doubt there is a limit (we dont have a bottomless pit) but I think we'd have spent more this summer just gone had the 'right' players been available. Next summer I don't see it being a problem should we need to spend £150m on Sancho and then another circa 80m on a CM

If/when we get a few wins in a row again this will be on like donkey kong until we hit the next inevitable blip and he’ll never come here and round and round we go...We can pay him and play him. What we need to do is convince him we aren’t run by complete idiots... that’s the hardest part:..

Maybe if we sell Pogba. I think we have averaged £50m net spend since the Glazers arrived, or at least that's what I read in one article recently.

If there is anybody around that understands our finances then perhaps they could shed some light on what is reasonable, because I've heard only negative things about it recently. £30m profit was it? How do we even spend £230m like you said and meet FFP?

We have to hire some real good con-artists to sit in the negotiation table to actually convince him otherwise.
This might be a harder task than us qualifying for Champions League, mind you...

Just common sense, am you believe he would have come here but for failing to qualify for Champions League and no doubt you have made up a reason he’ll sign without it next summer as well. Total crap but if it makes you happy fair play.

Is it? Because based on your first post common sense most certainly isn't your strong suit

Dreadful way of thinking.

If you can't see the differences between United and Everton you shouldn't be anywhere near football.

If we were in the CL next year we wouldn't win it so why should that be the be all end all. Young players should join teams that have a clear plan for the future, not just next season.

Glad you said that as you clearly are clueless. Time for you to accept reality and realise your talking bollocks not everyone else.

Don’t worry sooner or later the sun will have Utd are going to buy Sancho on the back page so you map that up.

Near world record sums? Plenty of times I reckon.
Not really- nothing has stopped them from spending money on elite talents (or the new shiny toys) even if they have enough talents at their disposal- world record fees or not -

Watch some football. Learn something about football. Yes, but he might want to play with Martial, Rashford, Maguire? But i guess they represent a different club.

The attraction of Manchester United is on a different level to Everton.

The ambition of both clubs is different.

The money is different

If we have a decent season, young players would want to join United.

Hazard, before he moved to Chelsea.

Oh, player we signed? Probably Pogba. Or Rooney.
