Going to be a tough battle for fourth over the next couple of years until the sponsorship percentages are under threat again. Poor Ole.
 
We won't sign Sancho, we will finish out of the top 4, win nowt and Ole will be long gone by this time next year.

There have been so many posts along those lines in this thread that it's getting hard to tell the difference anymore. Though on reading it a second time I would agree that it sounds sarcastic.

Even if he’s signed between now and Oct 5th, this is really really poor from us. The season starts in 5 days and all we have is VDB. I get there is loads to it and it’s not simple or straight forward but there is no way we are prepared or ready for the new season.

we’re far behind the top two and not really doing much to close the gap, while Chelsea have gone all out to improve and set lampard up for success. I actually like our squad and going by the end of last season, we had the best finish, so the potential is there, it’s the fact we are two/three injuries away from struggling. Let’s hope woody pulls something out of the bag in the next three weeks! We need to strengthen! The lack of trust ole showed at the end of last season shows us this. The sooner the better, make something happen woody!

I wrote before, if you want to participate as a muppet in this thread, you have to be prepared for this to go til October 4th. If we don't end up signing Sancho, then lets burn the place down, but that's only true after October 4th.

How is it a brief from Dortmun when Sky Sports were saying the exact same about days ago?? They said we were looking at alternatives and that we didn't believe that a €120M fee is acceptable in this current climate.

BBC are literaly reporting whats been posted for days now. It's nothing new, they're just adding a new twist on things by saying Dortmund are increasingly confident, though as has been pointed out, how are they inceasingly confident over something they had no intention of doing after their 'deadline', by their own words anyway??
 
The fact that Sancho isn't pushing for a move or being unprofessional puts Dortmund in the driving seat. We are going to have to pay their price or walk away. This massive delay trying to get them to drop the asking price is surely a waste of time?
 
This is over. Deal with it. He's not worth the money anyway. We can now invest in critical areas. Cmon Rice, Longstaff and hopefully Deeny

Makes sense if this deal doesn't happen if Dortmund want that much. Club ambition is top four, not challenging.

But the difference is that we’re dealing with Dortmund who legitimately don’t need to sell whereas Sporting had to sell Bruno due to financial issues.

This may be the time Stone may be right, we’re playing a game of chicken against a well operated club in Dortmund. I anticipate we’ll go in with a low bid days before the deadline and will get laughed at by Dortmund.

Now is the time for true muppets to stand up and remain strong! If you give up now and run away from muppetland, you will be called a coward who ran away from battleground and you will never be able to love Sancho truly when he bangs them left, right and center (goals, not Greenwood's hookers). If you stay and this fails, you will die as a proud muppet, only to be reborn on 1st January 2021. Your choice.
