Jadon Sancho - Chelsea (loan) watch

I don’t see what the confusion is: he is slow, but technically very gifted. He has issues similar to Enzo; against teams that sit back in their blocks he knows our system and can methodically find ways to unlock things.

If you know you are going to. Play more of that possession based counter style where you cover a lot of ground and want a runner in behind, you play Neto or Mudryk.

The problem with previous United (I say that because I think highly of the people you have now like Barrada) is that you bought him to be that dynamic winger … which he never was. That’s not his fault.. they should have watched a game or two.

Chelsea wanted him knowing who he is. Half our staff knows him from all the way back at City. He will cost us … 35m? And next year (if we finish above 14th) he will be a Chelsea player on a much lower, incentive based contract … being used tactically for what he is good at.

He doesn't bring any skillset, he doesn't excel in anything. He was at United for 3 years and didn't put in a single good 90 min performance. He had a good half against liverpool two years ago, maybe a couple good halves when Rangnick first started, that's it, he never put in a single, solid 90 min performance, never man of the match, nothing of note ever other than a few, very few, isolated moments. He brought nothing, he added nothing, when he left we didn't miss anything. I have literally in my entire life of supporting United can't recall a more insignificant player than Sancho. His only significance is his fanbase starting the pile on of Ten Hag. And he had plenty of time and chances to prove it, so case closed, he's shite. To further cement that, he went back to Dortmund last year and was shite for them, now he's at Chelsea and he's shite for them.
I agree fully with this.

He's a truly awful player.

But he’s on £300,000 a week?? He must be seriously good no earning that dough???

Joking aside, it’s another thing I despise about football, players with awful attitudes and awful work ethic can be rewarded with these insane salaries

In what way did they do anything remotely close to his actions?

Rashford has faced disciplinary action a couple of times for not adhering to club policy. Garnacho went as far as liking a post on Instagram that openly criticised Ten Hag.

Whether or not these incidents are as severe as Sancho’s is beside the point—the fact remains that all of them displayed signs of disrespect.

He's not that technical, he's decently technical.

His career trajectory is baffling to me.

He was so outrageously productive at Dortmund. And not even in spells, for 3 full seasons, he was unstoppable in the Bundesliga. It certainly appeared that he was more than just a flash in the pan (to the extent that many Dortmund fans at the time rated him higher than Haaland), and I thought we got a great deal when we finally signed him.

For not just his form, but his class to drop off a cliff so significantly is almost unheard of. He was next to useless for us. Offered nothing useful, provided very little value, and his attitude towards the end was shocking. I'm glad he's gone, and while I'm not normally a bitter person, I hope this trajectory continues and he's at Inter Miami in 2 year's time.

I hope INEOS made that contract with Chelsea water tight…both clubs will be going over the small print.

My app has it down as an 'unknown sickness'.

Throwing toys out the pram after he was dropped the other day? Scapegoated?

Went to see what Shed End thought of him. Last post in his thread was on Saturday. What a shit forum.

It is shit. I’d say the best place to gauge Chelsea fans sentiment online, about anything really, is twitter.

Are Chelsea fans and neutral fans still pretending he’s doing well there?
Noticed they played Neto on the weekend and he did well. A shame really, was hoping they’d continue to play Sancho.

Pretending is an interesting word to use. Most Chelsea were reasonably happy with his first few games. United fans obviously come with a certain bias when assessing or discussing Sancho, which is why I tend to stay out of this thread, but there was nothing controversial about saying Sancho played pretty well in his first few appearances. He was poor vs Liverpool and hasn’t been seen since.

Neto did indeed do well at the weekend, but the reverse happened when Sancho got his chance. Neto stunk the place out vs Bournemouth, was hooked at HT paving the way for Sancho to make an impact, which he did. I’ve said before the LW is no for grabs, even Mudryk isn’t out of the question. It’s a three way fight and my guess is Maresca will keep rotating and go with the hot hand unless one of them separates themselves from the pack.

Obligation to buy is a brilliant clause. I wonder if they will try to find a loop hole out of it.

Does Nkunku not play?

Does Nkunku not play?

He does, but he’s stuck being Jackson’s backup. He’s technically our top scorer this season but all of his goals bar one have come in the league cup and conference league.

I often see posts about Sancho's technical ability. Yes he's technical but his impact on games, especially in the premier league is few and far between. He's like a less technical, less impactful version of Mata.

To truly be a top winger in this league you need to have that technical ability with the physical prowess. Only abnormally technical players that don't have the athleticism make it in to the top tier of attacking players in this league. Sancho's level of technical ability doesn't touch a Mata or a Mahrez. Their touch and control were so good that they never really had to chase or make up for a bad touch, Sancho isn't on their level.
