People would have started sending abusive messages to Sancho's social media. ETH should have just said Sancho was injured. That everybody would have forgotten in a week's time. Nobody is forgetting this.

Well they're obviously idiots.

Was that because of what ETH said? Of his reply?

There’s really nothing wrong with what ten Hag said though.
Fair enough if you think so, I think it was unnecessary and created more drama and diversion from our issues in today’s game than needed. Ultimately it’s the manager that’s responsible for the moods in the dressing room and if he goes against a player calling out his lack of effort only to receive such a response he received from Sancho, it shows there are problems.

He told the truth. What if he said he was injured and Sancho then said he wasn't?

Apparently, this club is a joke now. It will be forever if we don’t have new owner.

These will just be the ones that have been made public. It's clear the guy has a serious issue with his professionalism. Not that unexpected considering he's still young, but disappointing. At some point, you have to expect better of yourself.

You really think he's out of his depth?
I think it’s time we start asking that question. He can’t seem to affect a game during play, he doesn’t seem to have the tactical nouse to change things on the fly, in game management is poor, signings aren’t great, spent lots of money and results aren’t improving, no recognisable sign on play, not trying to get anything out of the players he doesn’t like, away form is appalling etc.

Like I said, he needs at least half a season to answer some of those questions but it’s time to start asking.

Of course they're idiots but unfortunately that's what happens on social media. I'm sure people started sending him abusive comments which is probably why he felt the need to write this response defending himself which has made things even worse. This is why this stuff shouldn't ever be made public. If ETH wanted to discipline him for poor training or whatever that's fine, but when asked why he's not in the squad just lie and say he's injured. Managers do it all the time.

For anyone actually backing Sancho here watch this and tell me what he said wrong

Gross overreaction from Sancho and to be liked by Radhford whose career was revived by ETH.

They’re coming for the manager. Wonder if it has anything to do with the players he tried to sell but couldn’t. Remember United players are quite cliquish

Let’s not act like this was the only option, shall we? There’s been a million of similar cases not only in England where the manager dodges such question “tactical decision, nothing to add”. ETH made a decision to publicly call out Sancho’s motivation and effort following a loss in which Sancho did not participate.

At some point we just stopped caring about whether the players we were bringing in were actually United calibre players, and I’m not even talking about their ability, Fergie would never have touched half of this lot

How do you know Rashford likes it?

He was asked a question and answered it. As a fan that's what I want from a manager whenever feasible. I get that sometimes they need to lie too. Maybe this has been going on for years and it is the only remaining option. Sancho has history.

Came across this comment on Reddit

Hopefully thats the case. And if it is that case then Sancho should fire the person who wrote that abomination of a statement
Think it could be the case but his statement just isn't clear about what he's referring too and possibly that is the result of a football taking things into their own hands and sending out a poorly worded statement.

ETH has put him in the spotlight but his statement just further adds to the pressure he'll be under when he next plays for us.

The logical conclusion of that argument makes press conferences pointless.

Yeah, I think there's a case for that with our signings post-Fergie.

We've got it right with some. Martinez, Fernandes, Casemiro, Varane, Onana...they all seem like they have the right personality to make it at the club. Professional, tough, confident, resilient.

For every Martinez, we have a Martial or a Sancho. That's unfortunately been a problem.

I just did ask that question. You said we need half a season to answer it. Which makes asking it pointless.

Your first three points are all versions of the same thing, and they’re the same criticism every club’s fans have. The best manager in the world often doesn’t make any substitutes at all, no matter the situation. Every fan thinks their manager is being stubborn when things aren’t working, because invariably every fan has their own ideas on what should happen instead. They aren’t real criticisms, they’re just inevitable frustrations.

The replies to the Sancho tweet are worrying. So many people blaming EtH. It's a really weird time to be a United fan.

That's not an at all logical conclusion from what I've written, but you obviously don't actually want to consider anything other what you already believed, so best to just end this discussion.

Wouldn’t worry, it’s standard reaction for idiots who love a player who dances around like a prat, bit like Pogba and Lingard. Everyone can see Sancho is not performing and was given so much rope to last season to try to stem the decline but he’s not united material and ETH knows this

At some point we just stopped caring about whether the players we were bringing in were actually United calibre players, and I’m not even talking about their ability, Fergie would never have touched half of this lot
Like Miller, Obertan, Gibson, Djemba Djemba, Bebe, Büttner, Spector, Smith, Fortune, Bellion, Kleberson, Manucho, Carroll, Dong, Forlan, Diouf, De Laet were all superstars for us. Every manager signs sure-things that turn out to be duds. Ten Hag has done pretty well in his signings, I’d say only Malacia so far doesn’t look good enough.

To be fair to Sancho and I know, I'll get a bit of stick for this, on one hand Sancho has objectively been shite. On the other, ETH's team set up and the lack of midfielders/control and cohesion is not helping things. Obviously, that affects everyone in the team, not just Sancho but we really should be getting more out of our players.

@Fortitude deja vu for us :(

Perhaps a top centre forward will help everyone look better. I just think for the money spent he should be making the strikers look better, not the other way around. Like how Pogba was meant to galvanise everyone, then move him one foot to the left of his favourite position on the pitch and everyone made excuses for him. I honestly don’t think Sancho can run enough to play PL.

And besides if ETH doesn't wanna lie, he didn't need to reveal that much.
