Good. I'd like to see him succeed at United, but I also wouldn't be bothered if he goes. A good performance in a CL semi final will only increase his value.
Wasn't Di Maria man of the match in a Champions league final one time?He was the best player in the game. And this was a CL semi-final, a very important game.
His UCL performances will definitely get him a second chance here, especially if we're getting a new manager. I'm not so confident he'll come good though. Playing for United and Dortmund isn't the same pressure and he's one of those that can't handle it unfortunately.
They could win the UCL and it wouldn't make a difference mate. Sancho has had terrible games for Dortmund since he joined them but they aren't heavily scrutinised by fans, media etc.Meanwhile Dortmund is playing in the CL Semi Final with a leg in the final and Man UTd failed to qualify again next season.
You have to consider he was honed and crafted for City's football, and I suppose any offshoot of it. Within that set up, he either advances or passes to advance and receive and his physical limitations become secondary.I'm always taken in by arguments about how the system at united doesn't suit some players (Kagawa, Pogba, probably a lot more), but with Sancho he showed almost nothing. Maybe about as much as Kagawa, for an astronomical price and lousy attitude. He always felt slower than the defenders and his passing - the highlight from Dortmund - was just ok, nothing special. An in-form Martial (2020) could knit attacks with his passing in a much better way. Sancho was absolutely unsuited as a winger, and no presence as a 10. A ghost, like VDB.
It's possible the system was holding him back. But I don't think he can hack it in the PL regardless.
Clip is 2 mins long so a lot more is said than the text in the X.
Note that Sancho game is suited more to possession based. He has played under our managers here mostly using counter attacking football. Ole and ETH. Under the right manager he can be useful to the club.
Let's not forget ETH played him as a striker for the whole preseason.
I Would personally prefer Sancho to Antony.
How did Dortmund play tonight? Who was dominating posession? Who played most direct? Sancho just needs to be manager better by a manager who can actually manage him. His talent has been obvious since he was 18. WC player, but immature and needs people following him up closely 24/7. ETH is not that guy.
I find this comment interesting, lots of people say it. Looking at our players I would argue there is absolutely feck all pressure on players at united. I'm not sure what pressure anyone is referring to.His UCL performances will definitely get him a second chance here, especially if we're getting a new manager. Some of y'all need to soak this in..... Applies to many more than Sancho. I've been saying this for a while now.... The reaction on here and online to players off form and/or going thru off pitch stuff just bellies a misunderstanding of people, players, others.... and sometimes a callousness too
Never a great look

He has one of those games here he's getting 100,000 mentions on twitter on how shite he is and the class of 92 is on tv saying he needs to be dropped. The pressure isn't comparable.
With all due respect to Dortmund, it's a whole different type of pressure here. You can tell, he looks scared here he doesn't even want the ball. At Dortmund his confidence is on another level. He's like a completely different player.
Did you entertain the thought that you might not know the whole story? Probably not.....I don't care if his form is bad. What bothers me is that he contradicted the manager after him backing him for over a season and even giving him time off, then he refused to apologise and just waited at home for months for the manager to be sacked.

A little OTT here. It was a good performance but one of the all time greatest? NoOne of the all-time great performances without a goal or an assist at this stage of the CL.
I don't think there is a big confidence problem, they don't look like they care. The effort in our team is low, they don't seem to care about what anyone says, and they certainly don't do anything to show it. I think playing for united is one of the easiest football jobs currently.I think their complete lack of confidence shows they feel the pressure. It's like they know they're going to be mocked. The likes of Jones and Maguire were national punchlines and Rashford seems overly aware of it.
What pressure though? Doesn't matter if you are bad and play poorly because at united they will keep playing you. There are no minimum standards really, no real pressure at all. It's very different being able to be part of a team like Dortmund and do well, to being under the spotlight and pressure of United.
I suspect that Antony would look good at Dortmund, and Rashford would look almost like a decent player even!
Dortmund having a dig seems silly if they want to buy him. If he's so great and you know how to get the best from him then you'll be happy to pay big money right?
The fact that over the last 5 games Sancho has had one good performance (this one), one decent performance (last game vs Leipzig) and 3 pretty terrible performances and you and most people in this thread probably didn't even know. He's had one good game in the last 5 and people think he's been sensational overall or something. The difference in pressure is to do with the media and fans, a bad performance at Dortmund isn't like a bad performance at United. If Sancho had a similar run of games to this fixture at United there'd be calls by fans and media pundits that Sancho is rubbish, his head isn't in it and he needs to be dropped but at Dortmund it's not like that. What pressure though? Doesn't matter if you are bad and play poorly because at united they will keep playing you. There are no minimum standards really, no real pressure at all.
Wenger/Arsenal did. Nasri, Rosicky, Helb were not wingers and they all played the wide - playmaker role under Wenger. Cole Palmer and Foden are not really winger either. The question I'd ask of the league is how many teams could or would setup to accommodate wide-playmakers. We've seen very few of them over the last couple of decades.
Just like Rashford and Maguire, the issue is not only to agree a transfer fee, but also his existing high salary.Dortmund having a dig seems silly if they want to buy him. If he's so great and you know how to get the best from him then you'll be happy to pay big money right?
You ruined my easter egg, but yeah, there's little coincidence to it as going down that route and optimising it, points to very specific styles of play where the 'wide' men are never isolated and can constantly probe from outside to in pinging passes to others.Wenger/Arsenal did. Nasri, Rosicky, Helb were not wingers and they all played the wide - playmaker role under Wenger. Cole Palmer and Foden are not really winger either.
Sancho, Palmer and Foden are all from city academy.
In terms of getting in the team, maybe not, although it's clear there are also favourites here. But I think there's definitely pressure from the spotlight you're in and profile of the club: both in the media and social media - I think it's pretty clear by now that Sancho is not the kind of player/personality who has been able to handle that. What pressure though? Doesn't matter if you are bad and play poorly because at united they will keep playing you. There are no minimum standards really, no real pressure at all.
Is his United career dead in the water then?
I assumed all along that he’d be here next season if we have a new manager
