I can deal with his lack of productivity given it’s his first season but his lack of intensity is pretty worrying. He plays the game at a walking pace a lot of the time and he struggles to offer any sort of penetration. Hopefully Ten Hag gets more out of him but his performances of late are pretty concerning.
He's a system footballer. He will only start to look good when we have a clear shape and style of play and finally leave the freestyle era started by Ole behind.

Seems a bit of a fairweather player at the moment. Can't really remember a single performance this season where he won us a match. Plays well when everyone does and looks great, but never really drags us forward when we are down.
Suffering from the same thing Rashford is. Balls just getting pinged out to him and he’s expected to beat 2 men and find someone in the box. If not then it’s his fault. Really dire football all round.

Wish he was faster. He’d be a different beast if he had pace. He will be much better when we have a proper system though and can be world class.
We'd be happy if Rashford could beat 1 man at this stage. These days he runs the ball into the defender and runs past him.

Guy is physically and technically short since he's been here. The league seems to fast for him and misplaced very simple passes.
So based on one season (in which the majority of attackers in the side he plays for have been poor) he is now a shite player…. Ok
After a few steps forward it’s been regression of late. Next season is a big one for him.
Yes, many have suffered the same. Martial, Memphis, Di Maria, Sanchez, Rashford and now Sancho. Always the same deal beat, 2-3 players or lose it.
We bought him for the RW and he's a central player or a wide forward in a possession team.
This is where the team is heading, hopefully.

I think playing on the left let’s him slow the game down too much as he stops to take a touch and square his man up.
I did not watch him a lot when he was in Dortmund, but the numbers indicated that he was quality. Honestly, haven’t seen that at United. Haven’t seen anything to justify the amount we paid or the wages we pay. To his defense, he came to a shattered team where nothing works; actually the team has no system. I am hoping with the new manager and more defined tactics, he can show his worth.
Needs to step it up next season - been average at best so far
His go to move is to slowly jog with the ball for 10-15 meters, stand still for 5 seconds, look around and pass it to the nearest player. He does it 10-15 times a game, and very rarely attempts anything else. Well sometimes he just makes a longer pass to nobody.
then he's probably not your type of player. I think he's shown what he is capable of for United already. But he's definitely more of a Pep, Klopp or Tuchel player.
I think people will rate him very highly if Ten Hag arrives. If not my hope is that you'll sell him.

Me neither. I have never rated playmaking wingers. Hopefully ETH can find a system to get the best out of him. We clearly overpaid again. Diaz and Jota combined were bought for 15m more than Sancho. Mindboggling.
Our only hope is ETH getting something out of him due to implementing a system that suits him.

I never thought he was as good as people made him out to be. While good, i think his Dortmund stint is overrated. He rarely showed his class for England or in the CL. Against the Bundesliga midtable teams, he shined. That was never going to translate to a struggling United side in the much more competetive PL.

He scored 17 goals and assists in the league which is unprecedented. No Robben, Ribery, Müller, Lewandowski, Gnabry, Coman, de Bruyne, Özil, Haaland, Son, Aubameyang, Dembele or Reus was able to pull that off.
I think if you can explain something with a) the player being shit or b) Manchester United being shit, you should go with the latter.
The truth is somewhere in the middle. He is not shit, but in a gung ho Dortmund side, even Rashford would have great numbers.
My point is that he is a level or two below what most fans thought we would get. Ten Hag wont change that. He wont have the Dortmund numbers at United, and will go missing quite a bit in the big games. Good player currently in the wrong set-up, not exceptional though.

You say that likes it's a ridiculous idea. A manager coaching making players and his team better is quite literally his job.
Post-Fergie, it wouldn't be a stretch to say we've had about 5 signings who've been successful without much argument. Why do we keep having a go at players not making us better when surely that's the coaches job? To make those players work in the system and the team.
I don't think Rashford would look good at Dortmund. Nor do I think Dortmund was a gung ho side under Favre and Terzic. However, I do think Sancho was the best young player I've seen in the Bundesliga in my lifetime so far (bar maybe Götze and Wirtz now).
Don't you guys think it is a bit suspicuous that it's always United which ends up signing the Bundesliga frauds while many of the teams you chase are shaped by them? Maybe it's you, after all.
People saying he's a Pep or Klopp player make me laugh. Look at the intensity both those teams play with and tell me whether someone who looks gassed after 45 minutes of barely doing anything would get a game in those sides. £100m Grealish is struggling to get full games for City and you think Sancho would? Liverpool play every single game like its a battle for the club's survival. Sancho plays every game like its Socceraid but somehow he's a Klopp player?
Some players will contribute heavily to making the system better though, and that's where Sancho should shine. The system won't just make him look better (as you rightfully say a proper system should make most players better); he's the type of player who should absolutely shine and be a key player in a system which focuses on control, movement and clever interplay.
His weight of pass being so off sometimes is the thing that worries me more than anything, but I'm putting that down to confidence and it should be one of the easier things to fix.
I've seen others say the same about VDB and he's a player who I probably don't agree with. I expect he will certainly look better if we start playing how we hope to, but I don't think he'll be a key player or anything. Just a piece of the puzzle, if he even gets into the team that is.
This season Dortmund have scored 76 goals in 30 matches in the Bundesliga. Understat have their xG as 58.68
Last season (with Sancho) they scored 75 in 34 matches. xG was 68.95
The season before (with Sancho) they scored 84 in 34 matches. xG was 64.26
The season before that (with Sancho) they scored 81 in 34 matches. xG was 64.99
So Sancho gets sold by Dortmund yet their attacking stats have barely changed. Still another 4 games left including matches against Bayern Munich and the team at the bottom of the table, so perhaps they will look slightly different at the end of the season.
