Feck Me. How many times. Woodward is not dealing with Transfers this time.

John Murtough. Our DOF. the one role the CAF cried our for for months. Is the one dealing with Transfers.

Murtough, deals with the negotiation
Judge - deals with contract negotiations with the players in question
Murtough then hands off the information to Woodward who then goes and gets sign off from Joel.

I’ll fecking say it again. Woodward is not dealing with transfers this year.

Just paying the fee by the way is not negotiating and you’ll get bent over a barrel if you did that, & people complain about a United Tax. Jheeze

So, "ace negotiator" Woodward at it again, bidding a bag of peas and a shiny conker. Just get on and pay the fecking asking price, then get out of the damn job. Breaking news: next week, Woodward to launch £3 bid for Kane...

This guy is always pro German clubs. Can't trust anything from him.

True ✔

To be honest: This guy is a babbler. As norwegian he has a close relationship to Haaland, but nothing else. He knows nothing about Dortmund! All germans are laughing about him!

If you only watched highlights and games of Scholes playing for England, then some of you would never know that was he was one of the greatest midfielders England has ever produced. I am astounded at the number of idiotic comments criticizing Sancho and this move in general. We are getting one of the most exciting young players in the world, possibly only behind Mbappe and Haaland, and some of you are still moaning. FFS.

Jan Aage Fjortoft is wrong. Its 90 Mio € + 25 Mio (max.) add-ons. Then Sancho will be transfered to United.

According to a few people here, the fee is the simple bit. We just pay what is being asked and move on to the next transfer target. We shouldn't waste too much time & effort on such minor details.

In fairness - Dortmund are fairly honest to deal with this. They set a price and tell us what it is, we either pay or we don't pay. So in a way it is easy - the hard part is deciding if we want to part with that much money

Genuine question but when has this ever happened before?

Perhaps the best example is Karel Poborsky - no one had heard of the guy prior to Euro 96. Then he was arguably The Czechs player in a squad that included Nedved, Berger, Srnicek and Smicer.

I don't understand it either. He fits perfectly within the club culture and ethos too.

I think because it's not a shiny new toy and has been rumbling on for over a year the Caf transfer magpies eyes haven't lit up. If this was a new deal, he was called Sanchaldinho and cost £50m from Flamengo they'd all have stonking erections and be begging for Dave and Stormzy to put together an intro video for him.

Exactly. I actually saw someone claiming that we look stupid because we're still chasing last year's target while Chelsea buy Haaland. Totally discounting the fact that Sancho is one of the best youngsters around at the moment and that there's absolutely nothing beyond rumours that says that Haaland to Chelsea is even close. We've had enough to be gloomy about over the last few years ffs - can't we just enjoy the fact that it looks like we're about to buy one of the biggest talents in world football?

All that said, I would love to see a Dave unveiling vid. That's a vid made by Dave unveiling Sancho, not a vid of us unveiling Dave as a new signing, which would be rather underwhelming.

Pound for pound, this will be one of the biggest flops in the PL.

No way is he worth 90m

I think it’ll be 3rd time lucky for us and he’ll become one of the most creative players in the league. We’ve sorted our scouting out post Jose and I’m much more inclined to trust in the process. Some people will point towards Maguire and AWB as being flops but they really haven’t been. They’ve been ever present in a successful season by our own recent standards with room for further improvement. The main problem with this team at the moment is trying to sandwich Bruno and Pogba into the same team and a total lack of creativity and consistency from our forwards. Sancho is a cure to some of those things and is a buy for 5-10 years. He’ll be a great buy at anything under 100. He’s currently their best player.

German Potatoe is wrong. Its 140 Mio € + 60 Mio (max.) add-ons. Then Sancho will be transfered to United.

Would be a great signing, I would still prefer a centre back though to partner Maguire.

I'd be happy with Sancho and a centre back.

I think if we keep Cavani fit, we should be okay.

I don't understand. Fans will complain that the club does not invest and spend enough money, but then the same fans will quarrel over the fact we spend a few million more than they feel comfortable with on one of the most consistently excellent talents in world football.

Ultimatively only time will tell, but the requriements for a successful United stay are better in Sanchos case.

For one, he has simply a higher performance ceiling than both Kagawa and Mkhitaryan, but even more importantly he covers the weaknesses of the other two. He is far more versatile than Kagawa (a system player, that only really flourished in his comfort position and failed to adept) and a good deal mentally stronger than the raw egg Mkhitaryan.

There are two kinds of well performing players at Dortmund who departed the club. Players who profited a lot from the system and comfort (Sahin, Kagawa, Mkhitaryan, Götze to an extend) and top level players who used the stage Dortmund set to show their strong individual quality (Lewandowski, Gündogan, Aubameyang, Hummels). Sancho fits firmly in the latter category IMO.
Some fair points.
Time will tell I guess and hopefully Ole will get the best out of him.

Got to wonder how we have had a bunch of positive tweets over the past 48 hours and it’s a negative one which had made the title

Are they the same fans? Most likely some fans want more investment and don't mind to splash the cash, and others just don't want to be bullied by selling clubs into being forced to pay more.

Because this is the CAF and the CAF thrives on disappointment

I'm guessing that's 100 million Euros with add-ons included. If so, then it looks like we're in a similar situation to last summer where Dortmund wanted more of the money up front. Still, the fact that both parties want to get this over with sooner than later is a good sign.

With that said...

Don’t get me wrong, I relish the salt in here as much as the next man but it doesn’t really reflect what’s going on

Dortmund are a stubborn bunch but before people start going off on one they need to remember that he's their most creative player and he’s going to cost at least half what they get to replace plus cities cut. Anything under 100 million is good going for us. Get it done Murtough!

May be not as good news as we’d expect but another week does no harm

In all honesty, it seems Murtough is doing rather well in regards to the Sancho deal, I know talks would have been on going for a while but it’s only 2nd day of window being open and things are moving along quite well

Beginning to lose hope that this will be resolve today or even tomorrow. Maybe next week

Meanwhile you keep the faith up muppets!

Negativity begone!

Actually I hadn’t even thought about Murtough’s hand in this. Is there any confirmation of his involvement?
