I’m not aware of him speaking about it either but another poster in here who’s french said he expressed his disappointment at losing the 9 shirt and as I said, he took to social media to update all his photos with a big number 9 when Zlatan got the shirt so draw your own conclusions from that.

It’s nothing personal with him, I just don’t think he’s good enough to play for United as a starter and it would appear that he thinks he should be at the detriment of the team. And I’m basing that on his performances whenever we sign another striker that plays in his position. If he’s not been sulking he’s doing a damn good impression of someone who sulks whenever he isn’t going to play every minute of every match. If my posts seem to be ripping into Martial it’s because there’s a certain section of this forum who literally support him more than the club and I’m tired of them trying to defend him based on a few months of good form last season.

As far as Rashford is concerned, he’s a great player with a great attitude who’s been carrying injuries and still put a shift in when asked and scored goals. The stick he gets is uncalled for. It’s hard to be sensitive about anything random strangers on the internet say so don’t read too much into it.
Yeah I remember him being pissed at the club over it at the time, he'd just released his own brand AM9, then Zlatan came in and we gave him the no.9 shirt.

Do you really think that is going to happen?
It has happened with other players before. Many declare them as the solution to our problems in a particular position, until they play quite a few games in said position and underwhelms, then suddenly, they are being played out of position. Hope Sancho does well on the right from the start.

Cavani's liked 433's post on instagram :devil:Wonder how many assists there will be between them

Did you verify this yourself? Because I’m almost certain it’s not true. He did delete all his photos but he’s done that a few times. Like the Madrid stuff, it seems like you’re just looking for things to get annoyed about. And all this stuff about supporting a player over the club is just as stupid as the Cult of Rashford nonsense. People defending players over perceived unfair criticism doesn’t equate to supporting an individual player.
And I agree with you about Rashford, he’s a top player with a good attitude, but large segments of the fanbase have questioned his own work rate over the past couple of seasons, yet you rightly say that the criticism is unwarranted. I think it’s the same for Martial, you can criticise his form but the constant petty digs that pollute almost every thread on here are unnecessary.
I honestly can’t remember, it was years ago now but the memories are pretty vivid and I’m sure it was the Athletic podcasts (because that’s all I listen to for football inside knowledge) where I heard stuff surrounding him and his personality etc.

But you’re right, I’m tired of him and I think we should sell him if he’s not happy to be backup moving forward, and take a pay cut. So maybe it does come across as petty.

Anyway, without de-railing the thread further, it will be interesting to see how the lineup looks next season and who gets dropped in favour of Sancho and/or Cavani also. We’re quite well stocked now.

I think it’ll depend if Rashford undergoes surgery and misses the start of the season. If he does I think we’ll see Sancho and Greenwood on the flanks with Cavani central, which could create a real conundrum if they perform well like that. I really think Greenwood’s going to go up a level this season with Sancho’s service. Last year I think we struggled to find him in shooting positions but I think Sancho will alleviate that. Either way, it bodes well that we have three young and flexible talents in Rashford, Greenwood and Sancho. Their versatility should see them all get plenty of minutes whilst still being able to rest.

We will watch games next season with a combination of 3 of Greenwood, Rashford, Cavani, potentially Martial and Sancho up front with Fernandes and Pogba behind them. August cannot come soon enough.

Reckon he'll play a significant part of his games at left wing because:

1. Rashford is likely to require surgery and won't be available for some time.

2. He's better as a left winger than a right winger.

I'm counting the add-ons, which in Diallos case are more than speculative, apparently. So does United's accountants, I would assume. Also, the difference between last year and what we are paying for Sancho now is less than £ 30m.
Last year £108m, this year £73m. According to my maths, that's £35m.

Question for those who have been following him closely at Dortmund- what position was he playing predominantly last season? Was he pure right winger that we have been looking for aka Mahrez?

He should be dancing in the streets. All those insane runs he makes are going to be found by three players who can slot the ball exactly where he wants it now.

If he stays fit, Cavani's on for a monstrous goal tally.

It's an edit but still...

this kid is going to be class for United. We are getting back to our Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez days when they just beat the piss out of teams.

Fair play to the Murtough and the rest of the front office, that's a heck of a fair deal for this sort of profile of a player. I'm shocked they agreed to 5 installments as well after how stubborn they seemed last year

Feel the same. Might be different when we see him actually playing for us but I was done with this saga last year.

True. It just feels like we need to strengthen at striker given Cavani is basically a one and done at this point, and no one else is remotely good enough to be our main striker. Therefore I was hoping for someone like Haaland or Kane. Maybe next summer.

Haaland ain't leaving this year, I do think we have set our sights on him though, if Mason can't step up.

Great to finally get this done.
How long before the inevitable thread:
Is It Time To Burst Sancho's Bubble?

Going all out for Haaland next summer.

Outside of these two names, which are in the £100M+ range, the market for strikers is really poor. I think it's probably for the best that we wait around and see which talent emerges next season, I'm confident there'll be a new striker that everyone gets excited about.

Greenwood

Sancho Hannibal Amad

Worst case scenario, we are definately winning the U23 tournaments for a couple of years. I can only think of the big two SPanish side with young attacking prospects to rival those four

Agreed. I'm hoping we sell Pogba and use the money plus dangle Martial as bait to buy a top class striker. Between moving both players on, we should be able to get Haaland or Kane.
