My bad, I thought he was older. I do think our best players are bit attack heavy. Although I’ve not added Tounzebe as not seen him enough, and harder to judge young central defenders qualities as that position ends up being more about positioning and composure.

Those who kept on saying the board isn't backing the manager because they should have thrown on 120m last summer while we got the guy for 30m less honestly look silly now.
I have criticized Woodward a lot but everything the club did regarding this deal was near perfect. It was the right decision to walk away from it last season and return the next one when BVB are more open to sell. The negotiation was perfect.

I'm hoping this will allow us to play a more fluid 3 behind the striker. Maybe even 4 if Martial rediscovers some form, or Greenwood gets game time up front.
But I think it's obvious we've signed him to predominantly start in the RW position. Although, I'm sure he'll be given a license to roam, especially in home games against a deep defensive line.

Wished we had completed this earlier. Lots of faffing around over a few extra couple of Euros rather than just paying the fecking asking price and moving onto the next target. People are honestly overestimating that CB issue. Maguire and Lindelof have been mostly a fine pair. I won't refuse an additional CB but it's not like it's a position of crisis.
As for CDM, eh, we payed 45m for a midfielder which is VDB. If we had wanted a CDM instead of a CM why hadn't we bought him instead of VDB ? It had to be the manager's choice.

Still think it's a good deal for both sides. According to German media the transfer fee is €85m with €5m bonuses (which should be easy to achieve) and additional €5m bonuses which are not that easy to achieve (I assume sth. like winning the CL etc.) - so realistically €90m + X
