I'll admit that my stupid opinions are typically due to not following football outside of United very closely... but...

If Sancho isn't a starter in an absolutely shit England side, how can he be worth £80m?

Chill guys. Dortmund has to announce the deal as soon as it is agreed because they are a public coorporation

Southgate's opinion in Sancho in the player doesn't matter.

What matters is his form for his club which was what made him worth it.

Because the player is worth it as one of the premier playmakers in Europe since 2018 at only 21 years of age and in this market the 4th or 5th choice CB for England is going for £50M...

Fernandes didn't start for Portugal in the last game, or Joao Felix.

Kingsley Coman benched for France.

Plenty of good players don't always start for their national teams. Depends on tactics and managers preferences.

That would only matter if the players starting ahead of him were themselves worth less than £80m. Are they?

Normally that question would be a pertinent one, but not in this case.

It's much more a case of Southgate being too inept to make the most of one of the most prolific/creative wide forwards in Europe.

How Southgate is the best England can muster to manage this talented side is beyond me.

Who's England's manager? That might be your answer

Is this not the same fella that was adamant Mourinho was getting the boot if he failed to beat Newcastle? Painted it as a big exclusive when in reality he knew feck all.

He is just jumping the gun as it seems that the deal between the club is imminent at this phase by other reports.

It is but it easily could be argued the comeback + the Gary Neville rant was what saved Jose's job

I still think Neville's rant is what kept Mourinho in his job. Jose should've been gone after that Newcastle game but Neville's impassioned rant prolonged the inevitable.

Most likely. Definitely felt like a definition of a dead man walking at that point.

Gareth Barry has 19 more England caps than Michael Carrick.

Just putting this out there.

Sancho, Varane and possibly third one... honestly this could be almost good as summer 2007.
Didn't we have an excellent window with LVG when we signed Schneiderlin?

Not an excellent window in hindsight but we signed whoever the fans wished we'd sign.

Mind blowing stats.

How the feck the most decorated CDM during that time in Premier league didn't have the assurance as the first starter.

For the money Dortmund are going to charge to sell Sancho, Haaland and Bellingham, what’s stopping one of the Galzers paying Ed a fecking huge contract pay off at the end of the year and him buying Dortmund? It would cost less to do that

One of the best things that ever happened regarding Barry is Benitez thinking he was the answer to Liverpool’s midfield and in turn alienating Alonso so he left.

If Barry is the answer than I don’t want to know the question

He's just another one of those players that England managers didn't know how to get the best of or utilise in their system.

And the media/public preferred players like Scott Parker.

He was playing in the same position as Lampard and Gerrard, back in a time where England weren’t allowed to play anything other than a 442.

It's like Germany right now. They could use Kimmich and Goretzka together and just copy Bayerns success and brilliant balance, instead they shoehorn Gundogan with Kroos and put Kimmich on the right with Goretzka on the bench. Eerily similar to Scholes playing wide with Lampard and Gerrard central and Carrick left out.

Won’t be announced before Wednesday. He can’t be seen as being distracted by this while representing England at the Euros (many English fans really care about this kind of thing).
