I’m a huge England fan, but if that is true then what the hell were United thinking?

If he needs an operation then it should have been done the day after the EL final so that he had the next 2.5 months of the off season to recover.
Being harsh, there was no point in even taking him, he can't contribute anything due a combination of his form and injury. It's borerline negligence for Southgate to have taken him but he couldn't give a feck if Rashford's head falls off on England duty as long as he can let that chancer cling to his job for a little longer.

You think you can force Rashford to have surgery when it suits United knowing that there's an Euro's? Surely that would be in our best interest but that isn't how you deal with one of your star players coming from the academy. Unfortunately he's a role player for England now, so in hindsight that would have been better.

I’m worried if he doesn’t need an operation because I thought that was what was impacting his form so much at the end of the year. He really was poor.

According to the Times article which is behind a paywall, recently, BVB tried to offer Sancho a new and improved contract which he rejected, my question is why would they do that knowing the fact that they had a gentleman agreement to let Sancho move if the buying club offered the right fee??

here is the link from Eurosport.

If it makes no sense the likelihood is that it did not happen and this is just something different from what has been reported so far so to add a little bit more to talk about.

You can't force the player to have an operation if they don't want to.

He really wanted to play in the Euros, and no one can blame him for it.

The only question for me is if he will go on vacation first and then have the operation, or have his vacation while recovering from the operation.
After the grueling 2 seasons almost without a break now I'd even understand if he might want to have a vacation unhindered first.

this is Rashfords decision. He wanted to go to the Euro's and he said he isn't even sure if he will have an operation.

He can have his surgery when England go out on Tuesday, that'll give him a while to recover.

It's up to the player. I think he wanted to play in the competition. I'd fully expect to see him out until November and then not find form until January. Which is actually no bad thing.

Football is quite far behind (well football fans) in understanding that you need different players to hit form at different times in the season. So having Rashford coming back in the second half of the season with Sancho covering the left for the first half isn't bad at all.

Greenwood was in great form towards the end of the season, if it was a case of playing Greenwood at his best and Rashford at his worst? It's Sancho on the left and Greenwood right for me.

I love Rashford but we have to be realistic, he's not been great in the last 6 months and is playing through multiple injuries. The club owe it to him to get adequate cover, let him rest + recover and then get back to the guy that was rivaling Mbappe at one point.
Not only that, it's gross negligence and potentially career altering to have him continually play when he has multiple injuries in need of repair. Poor guy has had a gamut for his age: back, shoulder, ankle. We've rushed him back, and had to keep playing him when it was clear he shouldn't be out there and that really needs to stop now or he'll be ruined in his mid to late 20's.

If Martial's not on his way, Rashford should be going to get the necessary operation(s?) and treatment and allowed the full period of recovery. If Martial is sold, I really hope Ole has faith in Sancho, Greenwood and Amad with Pogba going up to the left side of attack if necessary. If Rashford starts the season a month or two after everyone else, so be it. There's evidently a massive discrepancy between him in his fully fit state (the season before last) and playing injured, so ultimately it's beneficial to the team for him to get sorted once and for all.

United still dicking around in year 2 of talks to finalize Sancho whereas City look well prepared to spend £200m to bring in both Kane+Grealish :boring: :wenger: :(

& then we act shocked as to why we’re so much further behind of them. Well duhhh, we work twice as slow as they do! AKA take twice as long as to catch up to them. Rinse and repeat - always behind the 8ball !

Yeap. If only the ESL option was still available...

Aye, if only we were funded, for sportwashing reasons, by one of the worst regimes in the world, then we probably wouldn't have to dick around thinking about meaningless things like the club financials.

Shameless pro-glazers ready made excuse. Look at both United’s+City’s spending over the last 10 years or so, it’s almost identical.

United had a lot more misses than hits, especially pre-Olé. United also don’t give consistent backing to their managers every year (ala for some reason don’t back managers during their 2nd years which always has us playing catch up and at a disadvantage).

...don’t let whatever reason it is get in the way of excusing the incompetence of the United board. We are well off compared to 99% of clubs in the world and are blatantly atrocious when it comes to transfer efficiency.

He's obviously coming here to play with Rashford in the same team, mate
I think the main point was Rashford maybe having an operation after the Euro's, in which case, Sancho seems the most likely starter in place of him, if and when we sign him.

Depends how far England go and how much rest we want players to have in the summer. Could start the season with Martial, Greenwood and Amad in attack against Leeds, for example.

feck off. Give us some real news when you have it (Romano not Zoo). Everyone saying the same thing "not done but SO close now/more done than ever before/no reason not to happen" is a bit of sad milking going on,

Romano was never so optimistic last summer. True, he was repeating the same lines as often as possible but he never said we are in final stages.

I feel for him a bit, as he can't win either way - if he doesn't give any updates he gets hounded by fans asking for an update (as if he had any influence on the deal timeline) and if he does give more regular, but with some mundane, updates he gets called out also.

True, but when you're the 100th journalist saying the same thing, it has no meaning really. The need for him to say something is silly, really. Maybe he shouldn't give in to it as he's encouraging fans to do that hounding.

i agree the constant harassing for updates must be insane. However when he was breaking out as his own thing, I feel like he had more restraint on stories. He doesn't have to give in to the twitter mob.

I like him. I think he has great sources, but either stop worrying about the twitter mob or fight back against them. If we lined up his Sancho tweets for the past week, they'd essentially be cut/paste.

Please stop, from one Canadian to the other.

He doesn't know everything but to be fair to Fabrizio, he said last summer that only personal terms and agent fees agreed and never said United handed in an official bid. He was singing the same tune all along that window. Now he's saying different of an official bid which was right as all credible sources have been pointing to it

That's what they want isn't it, social media impressions, tweets, retweets, likes and active conversation on their threads.
