Jackass star Ryan Dunn dies in car crash

To be fair if he was doing 100+mph it doesn't really matter if he was drunk.

It's like trying to decide whether he was a total idiot or just a regular idiot.

Of course it matters. The roads and weather condition matters the most though along with the drivers driving ability.

But when you've been a professional daredevil and own a Porsche then what else are you going to do?

But when you've been a professional daredevil and own a Porsche then what else are you going to do?

Well yes, you're right. When you put it like that it's easy to see he had little choice here

Not really.

A mate of mine met him in LA and said he was a cnut.

Now you have conflicting reports is your head starting to sizzle?

Always amazes me the way people feel the need to identify with celebrities. Fact is neither you nor I have any idea what sort of person he was. Someone on the Internet telling a story of a friend who once met them does little to change that.

Why would you 'just assume' anything about someone you don't know? Bizarre.

I don't need to identify with anyone. I most likely will never meet anybody I actually would like to meet in the celebrity circuit but I just want to know if they were actually alright people or were they letting the fame get to their head. We've all heard stories of other people meeting celebs and whether you believe them or not is up to you, and there will always be confilciting stories so until we meet them I guess we'll never know. I just don't see the harm in hearing stories of people meeting celebs, won't affect me in anyway but it doesn't hurt.

Assuming is natural (well to me anyway), are you telling me you've never thought Giggs, Scholes, Beckham etc were nice guys? The reason many people were shocked about Giggs' affair was because everybody assumed he was a nice family man, he never said it himself but it was thought because he was quiet and never made a fuss (usually). Assumptions are made pretty much all the time, a first impression of someone being a dick based on what they are wearing or doing at the time is an assumption. I refuse to believe you have never made an assumption about someone you have never met in person.

Knowing if Ryan Dunn was a nice guy or not doesn't change my opinion of him, he made me laugh therefore his job as a entertainer was fulfilled for me. I just see no harm in hearing stories about him outside in the real world, good or bad.

I will miss him. I always thought he was the funniest out of the CKY/Jackass crew.

It's just what you'd expect. People often forget that the most dangerous thing you do in live is driving a car. You don't have to be a daredevil to be speeding like that if you've got the wheels but I'm sure he lacks the good sense that maybe what he's doing isn't very smart seeing the profession he was in. I mean he participated in Gumball 3000 and what not. Kind of person that craves adrenaline of some sorts and likely will die doing what he likes to do.

I don't see this as any more stupid way to go than climbing a mountain, diving or hang gliding. It's all dangerous stuff that normal people don't go into without much supervision.

It is the fact that he was putting other people at risk by his actions.

I can't be too critical, but for the grace of god, etc.

Why do you say he was pissed up?

Several hours before the crash he tweeted a picture of himself drinking and was coming from a bar when he crashed. Witnesses have said he may have had up to 6 drinks, albeit over a long period of time.

Real mixture this thread. Halfway through it suddenly changed from RIPs to criticism.

Seems a bit early to be judging him for drink driving (innocent until proven guilty). The fact that he posted a pic of himself having 1 drink with friends, and that he was coming from a bar does't necessarily mean he was pissed up.

Anyway its very sad when anyone dies, whatever the circumstances.

I drive a 160+mph car and I can and do throw it about.

However I certainly don't do it where I can put other innocent road users and risk. I like Dunn as an entertainer, but if that car was travelling above the speed limit, then there's no defending him.

He was over 2x the legal limit, nearly 2.5x.

feck him. Zero sympathy. He could have just as easily wiped out a family as he wiped out his friend. People like this deserve no sympathy.

Not only was he driving pissed, he was driving probably over 2x the speed limit for that road.

I hope the media runs with complete character assassination on this douche bag. He doesn't deserve the press or the adulation he is getting now.

I doubt he cares, to be honest.

That isn't the point. Giving this fecktard press which builds him up only encourages more fecktards to think "hey whatever bro, everyone has driven drunk and we were ok!"

Yup. But it's probably draft beer which is about 4%. And witnesses at the bar, including the owner, said he wasn't intoxicated. So I really don't think the alcohol was a factor in this. The police hasn't said otherwise.

I watch an episode the other day call Air Crash Investigation. The reason for the crash of the airplane in that episode was that the pilots forgot to put of the spoiler flaps (you know, the brakes). The plane didn't stop when it should and crashed. Not everyone died though but it was a fairly stupid error to make as a pilot. The weather distracted him. I assume it was a simple stupid mistake that caused that car crash as well.

Where can you drive your car fast like that without it being illegal? In my country everything above 90km is illegal. Inside a city/town you can barely get over 70km but then again most people drive over.

It was a GT3! You don't make simple mistakes, you have to be insane to even have a drop of alcohol before driving what is a road legal race car. Especially one which has little in the way of driver aides.

Yeah, because it turned out so well for Dunn. Idiot.

I live in england, so it's 70mph maximum on 2/3/4 lane roads where you don't face oncoming traffic.

What relevance that is, I don't know.

You said you did throw about. To me at first it sounded like you do go way over the regular speed limit when driving and see no one around. Assumed it was on a highway. Then I thought to myself that access to a track probably easier for you than it would for me.

I.e. your post sounded hypocritical to me at first without added explanations to it.

Ahh, fair enough. I'm not a saint behind the wheel, but I do know that there is a time and a place to have a little fun, and add even a little alcohol to the mix too? Well there's no excuses there.

I agree with that. I don't know about the alcohol in this situation but that speed he was doing is mental. But that what he was all about so you can't really be surprised by the manner of his death. A shame though.

RIP Ryan, you silly silly sausage.

Remember, you shouldn't criticize people for feeling certain way about Dunn, he was an idiot but that doesn't mean you can flick a switch and not be upset that he is dead.
George Best was jailed for drink driving also(just a random insert).

Yeah, because it turned out so well for Dunn. Idiot.

What in the feck are you talking about.

Dunn is a retard. The media and the people defending him are equally as retarded.

I'm guessing you're completely disassociated from pop culture because a very large number of dumbasses will say "leave him alone we've all done it and we came through ok!"

That's the point. It isn't fecking OK, because for every retard that drives while blasted and makes it ok, how many families or innocent people get schwacked by these selfish cnuts.

So is that what you are? A selfish cnut?

Actually, his blood alcohol level was released several hours before you made this post. It was .196 with the legal limit being .08 for the math challenged that is 2.45 times the legal limit.

The police have also confirmed that he was traveling excessively fast, between 132 MPH and 140 MPH at the time of the accident.

And .08 is a high limit, ours is 0.05. 0.196 is blasted and add very high speed driving on a minor road and it is an accident waiting to happen. Natural selection at work sadly.

Most people would at best be unable to walk in a straight line to the car with this blood alcohol level. Even gross motor skills would be seriously impaired even in a seasoned drinker.

He was an idiot for drink driving, and it has cost him and another their lives.

But regardless, I, and I daresay alot of the other people who are in their early 20's, felt a connection with the Jackass/CKY crew because it was pretty much THE thing to watch growing up. He wasnt a hero of mine, but he was part of something that almost defines my time as a teenager, and its sad to see him die. RIP Ryan Dunn.

Same.

Really sad, no matter what the circumstances of his death.

People stealing bits of the broken barrier and car to sell on ebay ffs. Disgustingly bad taste in my opinion

now this has reduced me to tears, im a huge bam fan and seeing him like that is horrible:(

How about not get into your car pissed, wrap it round a tree at 130mph killing yourself and your mate.

As I said, idiot.

Damn it your right, MTVpaid him to shove toy cars up his arse and crash golf carts, what choice did he have, he was simply a flame that burned to brightly for our world.

Seriously, are people actually this stupid?
