Jack Grealish | Man City

Look at the player he was at Villa before he went to city. It’s not all on him

We're overrating who he was at Villa. He was never prolific for them. Not to the point that Pep needed to make him the number 1 man at City ahead of Haaland, De Bruyne, etc Also, he had more space to run into at Villa, think he struggles with City's focus on more patient buildup in particular zones.

Despite this, he was an integral part of City's treble run. I don't know why Pep doesn't utilize him as a number 8. He doesn't have the skills for a wide man. Unless that happens his days at City are numbered.

I don't think he's been an unqualified success for City all things considered, but apart from not buying him, it's not clear what more Pep and the club could have done to make this transfer work better.

He’s bought him for a huge fee and sat him on the bench for most of the time. Whilst I agree with the points you raise, a player who was coming into his peak needs to play not sit on the bench. I reiterate that pep has ruined his career. That being said, Grealish wasn’t forced to go there
Isn’t it possible that Grealish checked out once he signed his bid contract at City? Wouldn’t be the first player to do something like that.

Always got the impression Grealish enjoyed his football. Completely the wrong sort of player for Peps City though. I can fully imagine he isn't enjoying football right now but I don't think hes one of those players whos in it purely for the money.

Things he enjoys going on the piss more than football, he's won the treble, probably happy enough now.

I think players tend to lose motivation and interest when the manager barely uses them and doesn't trust them for a few seasons.

God he has 2 years left on his deal
What is his book value now?
£34M?
I would imagine City would try to flog him
Would Newcastle be in for him?
Obviously with Villa it all hinges on Champions League qualification
