Replace that with “elite professional footballer, in season.” Does it read the same?
Some players might get high/drunk in season, very few of them are doing so in public for their club to potentially get whiff of.
City pay Grealish an obscene amount of money as an asset, seeing him sloshed could rightly have severe consequences.
Same thing with the photo with him and the two women with one having her clothing exposed. Crashing into three cars, an occasional drunkard.
Grealish is not a consummate professional in any sense, he's an embarrassment. Heavily criticized by City fans and the media he's been a disastrous signing for them.
Not disastrous, as he was a key component in their greatest ever season. A liability to get rid of since due to his unprofessionalism? For sure.
He’s done the Best/Yorke thing and had his life consumed by things other than the sport he makes his living off of, and for that, he should be canned.
Not that he cares; getting rid will cost them a fortune, so it’s win-win, as far as Grealish is concerned.

I read a recent book about the 99 season but I think the author's name was Dickens. I'll give this one a shot. Sounds although they're are some interesting stories in it.
