Rakitic and Marin were just on German live tv (Rakitic is fluent in German)

Impressive performance, he had a big game today. He was simply magnificent, covered every inch of the pitch, collected one too many loose balls in the midfield, run with the ball through the middle numerous times and created most of Sevilla's chances. His long pass to Bacca in the ET was the final's highlight. It's a crying shame he hasn't played for a bigger club at the age of 26.

A late bloomer, I like it. I'd say take the punt and go for him he'd probably only cost in the region of 25m (pulled from my arse) get him as a surprise 3rd CM this summer in addition to Kroos and Strootman and we'd be laughing.
Aren't they looking at Vidal? What happened to Modric, illarmendi? Isn't Isco traditionally a CM too?

He is better than both Strootman and Kroos. I'd take him alone if we are to sign one of those 3... either way we won't get any of them.

Not sure where he'd fit in at Real. Di Maria and Isco are surely enough cover for the most advanced midfield positions and Modric has just come off of a phenomenal season. I know it's Madrid amd this is what they do, but this is excessive even by their standards.
The thought of Modric and Rakitic linking for club and country is fantastic. He's one of those id have lived to have here but with the competition all offering CL football we likely don't have a chance.
They also have Jese Rodriguez who would be itching to break into the first team as well.
Christ.He was available for less than £15m last summer apparently.

None of them going anywhere. Before Arsenal signed Ozil, we should have tempted Madrid with an offer for Di Maria. But I recall quite a few people on here saying they didn't want him. He dives too much and is a cnut.

So you're leaving out the probably best player of this season in Di Maria? Rakitic is really good but Di Maria has been amazing this season. Midfield 3 of Alonso, Modric, Di Maria is perfect.

I think if he went to Madrid, Khedira would be the player to leave. Possibly to Roma, they like to turn over a bargain quickly.

Madrid will go after the more fancier players, such as Vidal. Signing Rakitic won't create such a huge buzz around them as would Vidal.
He's much more of a Barcelona type player than an Atletico, and Real hardly need any other players.

He and Schweinsteiger make me wonder how many slow wide players would have had their careers improved by being moved inside.
