Mata doesn't play on the right. He literally drifts in when we have the ball and pretty much never stays on that right side so I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that he's "terrible" on the right. Mourinho doesn't play a right winger he wants to dominate the centre of the park and Mata is crucial to that, if we lose numbers in the middle by playing an out and out right winger it makes it harder for us to retain possession and thus dominate the game.
Besides getting a right winger would be a waste of one of our best outlets which is Valencia's runs from deep. Valencia is always in so much space because Mata and the others drag the defenders inwards so the wings (especially the right one) is always completely free. So many times we switch the ball out to Valencia and use him as our out ball, that only works if our right winger drifts in like Mata does.
You don't need to be near Real Madrid standard to be a asset in our first 11. Most player's in the EPL wouldn't get into the Real Madrid starting 11, so not sure why you use that as a measuring stick to beat Perisic with. Listening to some of you guys, one would think we had a prime Giggs and Ronaldo still playing for us.
I've explained countless times why I believe Perisic would be a very good player for us and improve our attack. Perisic on the RW would work just aswell. Martial and Rashford can fight it our for the LW like they're doing now. Would make us a much more fluid and exciting team to watch.

How are people STILL comparing him to Ashley Young. To say Young was better as well? You have NEVER seen Perisic play. After all this time we still get these absolute garbage posts.
Can you tell me what facets of Perisic's game you feel he fails on to be a first 11 player for us. I've asked you this before and you have ignored it. Hope you break his game down for me and enlighten me.

Consistency. Great players regularly play at a high level, not just occasionally like Perisic. He did have a good game against Roma and perhaps he can keep it up, but he's playing in arguably the weakest league of the top 5 and didn't do it in the Bundesliga consistently.

I think he's a an average winger that hits lots of crosses. Some are hit, plenty are miss.
He's failed at big clubs before too.
World class? Nowhere near (but we are certainly not going to sign anyone that is). The problem is Inter are then pricing him like some sort of superstar simply because an English side is involved. They bought him for less than 15m pounds just two years and now want 50. Woodward is not a mug and will not pay. He has proven that he will pay the price for exceptional talent. 80 mil euros for Martial for example. We made one bid for that very reason. We probably thought this would be a cheap punt until Inter got greedy.
I understand that we need width ( but we certainly could get full backs to achieve that). We tried to sign Williain too (so it's obvious that Perisic isn't our only target).

He's been very productive for Inter. Never saw him play in the Bundesliga but from what I've seen of him in Serie A especially against Juve he's a fantastic player.

It takes simple comprehension to understand that the statement you have just quoted doesn't not mean we shouldn't sign any player that wouldn't get into the Real or Bayern sides. How exactly that proves I said we shouldn't sign those players that are Madrid quality is something only you understand because I never said it.

I'm not denying that (edit: That he's been productive for Inter and I respect your opinion). But I wasn't impressed by his 2015/16 season, and while 2016/17 was better, it didn't make me think that's a player we need to sign. He's off to a very good start this season though. I just think there are players more suited to what has been the argument for Perisic. There are players, who are better at crosses, players who work just as hard or more defensively and players who provide the width for the team.

I've had an interest in Wolfsburg since the days of Grafite and Dzeko and followed them since. Yes,Perisic joined much later, but he didn't impress me then. He's a decent player but not necessarily a special one. Once premiership defenders figure a player out, especially one with one modus operandi, it's curtains. Same thing happened to Valencia.
The Super cup showed that all the graft in the world is no substitute for pure talent.
I still say all this while acknowledging that genuine top tier talent isnt really available to us now.
Ashley Young was in the Premier League team of the year at his peak. It's a fairly obvious comparison and and not even intended as some sort of insult. Ashley Young was quite good at his peak and better than Perisic I'd say. I think you should reevaluate the quality of your posts before accusing others of posting garbage or maybe watch Young play.

He is more than just 'graft'. Nice job in trying to under play his abilities though. Super Cup showed us how great Real were (if we didnt known already), yet it only ended 2-1 anyway.

He's not a average winger and he's proving that in SerieA. His pace and ability to go either side would open up a different dimension in our attack which is non existent right now. I don't even care too much about his crossing and haven't used that once in my argument for Perisic.
The only thing that bothers me in this thread is how @Ban who is a Croatian red and has watched him play more than anyone of us, is ridiculed due to his superior knowledge on the player compared to most on here. Even the Inter fans rate him. But the sheer ignorance EPL fans show other leagues like SerieA etc is incredible.

Real are great because they have gone to the market and paid for top tier talent. They didn't just go from a side that couldn't make it past the last 16 of the UCL for 5 years to their current level out of nowhere. They certainly were signing better quality players than Perisic level (Again, I'm not saying we should be signing Madrid level players only,although that would help us get to that level quicker).
For that top tier talent, clubs are willing to pay a premium. United isn't willing to pay a premium here because they ar ent getting top tier talent. We saw an opportunity to take advantage of Inter's FFP problems for a cheap punt on a player that could be useful , once that didn't work, we never bid again.
Ashley Young was a good player but didn't have the pace of Perisic. Perisic is more explosive
Your problem is the constant need to generalise everyone that doesn't rate him.
I told you that I know of him because of following Wolfsburg. Was around the time when Bayern were not so dominant and clubs like Stuttgart were winning titles.
I don't even think the Premier league is the best league in the world and would hardly call myself a premiership fan (I just support a team in this league)
I have watched plenty of other leagues because I simply enjoyed football. There was even a time when I followed Nordic league's and they were certainly non mainstream.
Simply put: The assertion that everyone that doesn't rate Perisic doesn't watch him is just pure garbage.
I respect Serie A as a league and they are many players from that league that I would want at United. Paul Pogba was one. Wouldn't say no to Dybala either. Those are genuine top tier talents irrespective of the league.

The Croatian fans who have seen him play even longer than you, disagree. And they'll break his game down too on a technical level to give us a better understanding of what the player could offer us going forward which you are finding difficult to do.
