I think this ship had sailed,we told them the price, which they where not interested in selling him and it seems like we are not increasing the offer.
100% agree. Mata is terrible on the right.
A right winger and left and right fullbacks should be our absolute priority in the coming transfer windows.
I'm massively surprised that we haven't bought a left back this summer.
Perisic isn't nearly as good as some on here think he is. He's massively inconsistent.
You don't need to be near Real Madrid standard to be a asset in our first 11. Most player's in the EPL wouldn't get into the Real Madrid starting 11, so not sure why you use that as a measuring stick to beat Perisic with. Listening to some of you guys, one would think we had a prime Giggs and Ronaldo still playing for us.Well that's rather idiotic, dont you think ?
Especially considering the actual context that the statement gou are replying to was made. (I.e Perisic would help us get closer to the level of Madrid and co). He's simply isn't anywhere near Bayern,Madrid standard. At least with our younger players, there's hope that they could be one day.
Again, you are arguing a point I never made. You don't need to be near Real Madrid standard to be a asset in our first 11. I've explained countless times why I believe Perisic would be a very good player for us and improve our attack. Perisic on the RW would work just aswell. Martial and Rashford can fight it our for the LW like they're doing now. Would make us a much more fluid and exciting team to watch.
Can you tell me what facets of Perisic's game you feel he fails on to be a first 11 player for us. I've asked you this before and you have ignored it. Hope you break his game down for me and enlighten me.Again, you are arguing a point I never made.

Consistency. Great players regularly play at a high level, not just occasionally like Perisic. He did have a good game against Roma and perhaps he can keep it up, but he's playing in arguably the weakest league of the top 5 and didn't do it in the Bundesliga consistently.
I think he's a an average winger that hits lots of crosses. Some are hit, plenty are miss. Can you tell me what facets of Perisic's game you feel he fails on to be a first 11 player for us. I've asked you this before and you have ignored it. Hope you break his game down for me and enlighten me.
It would be great if you quote just one person that said that.We shouldn't sign players unless they would get into Bayern or Real's team . What kind of shitty transfer policy is that. What world do some of you live in. It's like some of you dont understand that the value in Perisic is in the different dimension he offers us as an ACTUAL winger. What the feck does him getting into Real's team got to do with improving us? Do people not understand different players have different effects on the dynamic of a team? Not every team sets up the same way. Seriously this is basic stuff, it's embarrasing.
You can hark on about what he did in the Bundesliga but the fact is he has improved and has been consistent for Croatia since 2014. The fact that he hasn't looked amazing in an unstable Inter team doesn't bother me. Even then he still shows his quality.
All of these garbage opinions must be coming from people who have only read his stats and watched a youtube video, it's the only way to explain these absurd viewpoints.

That was a pathetic reply to cover yourself. You know absolutely nothing but still continuing. Give it a rest.Consistency. Perisic wouldn't even make it Madrid' s bench.
Once again you fail to tell me what "facet" of his game he fails on to be a starter at our club. I've posted a tweet from Alexsandar Holiga who follows Croatian football very closely. Please read it and educate yourself.I think he's a an average winger that hits lots of crosses. Some are hit, plenty are miss.
He's failed at big clubs before too.
World class? Nowhere near (but we are certainly not going to sign anyone that is). The problem is Inter are then pricing him like some sort of superstar simply because an English side is involved. They bought him for less than 15m pounds just two years and now want 50. Woodward is not a mug and will not pay. He has proven that he will pay the price for exceptional talent. 80 mil euros for Martial for example. We made one bid for that very reason. We probably thought this would be a cheap punt until Inter got greedy.
I understand that we need width ( but we certainly could get full backs to achieve that). We tried to sign Williain too (so it's obvious that Perisic isn't our only target).
Again, read the context. This is meant to say that because he wouldn't get on to Real's bench he wouldn't help us challenge on all fronts?

Mind you, I dont want Perisic myself.
He's been very productive for Inter. Never saw him play in the Bundesliga but from what I've seen of him in Serie A especially against Juve he's a fantastic player.
This piece by Alexandar Holiga who follows Croatian football closely sheds light on Perisic's abilities.
Again,read the context.
The quoted comment(to which i replied) said that Perisic would help us get closer to Real and Bayern.
It takes simple comprehension to understand that the statement you have just quoted doesn't not mean we shouldn't sign any player that wouldn't get into the Real or Bayern sides. How exactly that proves I said we shouldn't sign those players that are Madrid quality is something only you understand because I never said it.
it's just another silly strawman argument.
That's fair enough, but he does all what you've described and more considering he's such a explosive player.I simply gave my thoughts, @Adnan didn't ask me directly. Perhaps you should read before you post.
I'm not denying that. But I wasn't impressed by his 2015/16 season, and while 2016/17 was better, it didn't make me think that's a player we need to sign. He's off to a very good start this season though. I just think there are players more suited to what has been the argument for Perisic. There are players, who are better at crosses, players who work just as hard or more defensively and players who provide the width for the team.
It's in the first paragraph of the reply.Once again you fail to tell me what "facet" of his game he fails on to be a starter at our club. I've posted a tweet from Alexsandar Holiga who follows Croatian football very closely. Please read it and educate yourself.
The Super cup showed that all the graft in the world is no substitute for pure talent. The original post said "challenge on all fronts like Bayern & Real"...
Besides, he actually would help us get closer.
How are people STILL comparing him to Ashley Young. To say Young was better as well? You have NEVER seen Perisic play. After all this time we still get these absolute garbage posts.
The Super cup showed that all the graft in the world is no substitute for pure talent.
I still say all this while acknowledging that genuine top tier talent isnt really available to us now.
Ashley Young was in the Premier League team of the year at his peak. It's a fairly obvious comparison and and not even intended as some sort of insult. Ashley Young was quite good at his peak and better than Perisic I'd say. I think you should reevaluate the quality of your posts before accusing others of posting garbage or maybe watch Young play.
Everyone is aware of what level Ashley Young reached.
"I think he's a an average winger that hits lots of crosses. Some are hit, plenty are miss".It's in the first paragraph of the reply.
It's just another man's opinion. I don't understand why it bothers you so much that not all of us rate him. Next you will tell us that people that don't rate him don't watch him. (it's another silly argument that gets trodded out here when logic fails).
I've had an interest in Wolfsburg since the days of Grafite and Dzeko and followed them since. Yes,Perisic joined much later, but he didn't impress me then. He's a decent player but not necessarily a special one. Once premiership defenders figure a player out, especially one with one modus operandi, it's curtains. Same thing happened to Valencia.
Its not underplaying anything. He is more than just 'graft'. Nice job in trying to under play his abilities though. Super Cup showed us how great Real were (if we didnt known already), yet it only ended 2-1 anyway.
Everyone is aware of what level Ashley Young reached. Perisic is better regardless.
Just more utter garbage posted about Perisic. It's been the same since we were first linked, it's ridiculous.
Your problem is the constant need to generalise everyone that doesn't rate him."I think he's a an average winger that hits lots of crosses. Some are hit, plenty are miss".
"He's failed at big clubs before too".
That's what you said^
He's not a average winger and he's proving that in SerieA. His pace and ability to go either side would open up a different dimension in our attack which is non existent right now. I don't even care too much about his crossing and haven't used that once in my argument for Perisic.
The only thing that bothers me in this thread is how @Ban who is a Croatian red and has watched him play more than anyone of us, is ridiculed due to his superior knowledge on the player compared to most on here. Even the Inter fans rate him. But the sheer ignorance EPL fans show other leagues like SerieA etc is incredible.
I don't want beat around the bush here.Your problem is the constant need to generalise everyone that doesn't rate him.
I told you that I know of him because of following Wolfsburg. Was around the time when Bayern were not so dominant and clubs like Stuttgart were winning titles.
I don't even think the Premier league is the best league in the world and would hardly call myself a premiership fan (I just support a team in this league)
I have watched plenty of other leagues because I simply enjoyed football. There was even a time when I followed Nordic league's and they were certainly non mainstream.
Simply put: The assertion that everyone that doesn't rate Perisic doesn't watch him is just pure garbage.
I respect Serie A as a league and they are many players from that league that I would want at United. Paul Pogba was one. Wouldn't say no to Dybala either. Those are genuine top tier talents irrespective of the league.
I'm just tired of the last stereotype surrounding anyone who doesn't worship the ground that Perisic walks on. I didn't rate him before Inter. I knew of him before them.

No.I don't want beat around the bush here.
Are you saying you watched him in the Bundesliga for Wolfsburg and made your decision on his abilities regarding a move here due to his performances 4 or 5 years ago?
It wasn't blatantly obvious, I along with a few others including @Rozay had grave doubts about Depays potential ability. I can dig them posts up too.How does that matter one bit? A Dutch red convinced half the forum that Depay was the second coming of Ronaldo even though it was blatantly obvious that Depay wasn't good enough.
The Croatian fans who have seen him play even longer than you, disagree. And they'll break his game down too on a technical level to give us a better understanding of what the player could offer us going forward which you are finding difficult to do.No.
I am saying I have watched him since Wolfsburg and thus my decision isn't based on just one season.
It wasn't blatantly obvious, I along with a few others including @Rozay had grave doubts about Depays potential ability. I can dig them posts up too.
I said the same thing too but it was almost pointless. I have always made my assertion on what I've seen.Your problem is the constant need to generalise everyone that doesn't rate him.

I broke it down and gave details regarding Depays game, big difference...So it's more or less what @K2K is doing then.
