It's Jose Mourinho's birthday, post something nice about him

Austerlitz?

Again, why does the opinion of the uninformed matter?

The battle of austerlitz is, what many believe to be, napoleon's greatest hour.

The opinion of the uninformed matter because they are far more uninforned then informed around. That's why the likes of trump and brexiteers rule their respective countries

Mou might have won alot but his last 3 experiences went bad, very bad. Its human nature to remember defeats more then successes especially if they are fresher in memory

Hannibal Barca is still mostly remembered fondly despite his eventual defeat at the hands of Scipio.

That's because it was the battle of the underdog vs the superpower, the last general in antiquity to be able to make Rome crap in its pants. People are far less sympathetic towards men who fail when they have the resources to succeed despite of all their past achievements.

That explains why mou is trying to spin this story as if he lacked the financial backing to succeed. The trouble with that is that financial stats + ole success discredit that.

It really depends on what your agenda is. Ie, regarding Napoleon, the majority of people over here (Serbia) will remember that he had his ass handed to him by the Russian winter. Why? Because people over here like the Russians and enjoy the narrative that they stopped both Napoleon and Hitler.

I am really not sure where the entire idea that late failures are remembered more comes from. We all decline over time. The time of the decline depends on the profession, but it does come, for players as well as managers.

There will be no late failures to remember Zidane for if he decides to never manage again, but everyone who has been in the game for a while have had failures. Pep has not won the CL without Messi and that freak midfield. SAF has won it only twice. Klopp has lost how many finals, six? And so on and so on.

Let's go back to Zidane. Would you say that he, as a player, is mostly remembered for the Materazzi headbutt? For anyone who was around in 1998 and 2001, the answer is no.

To go back to the Napoleon thingy... What people will remember Mourinho by depends on how they feel about him. The neutrals will probably see him as the best manager of the 00's, who declined in the following decade. But it's hardly a stick to beat with him with, not that many manager to remain at the very top for a decade plus.

Still defeats are remembered more then successes especially if they are more recent and the person is hated. For example history will probably treat someone who always had dignity (wenger) better then some spoiled brat (mou) who lost 3 consecutive dressing rooms

Regrading zidane everyone knows that materazzi provoked him + he was able to turn things around by winning shitloads with Real.

Wait, ahead of Sir Alex?
let my clarify. of all managers still managing, He my favourite. All these one way managers like Klopp, Pep or Sarri actually annoy me. Also one of the reasons why i love SAF so much. the man was all about being dynamic and still coming out on top. i feel its unfortunate it didnt workout with Jose. If only he had embraced the clubs traditions like Klopp has with Liverpool, We would be an absolute force. but Alas, he was too set in his ways to change. Still though, i prefer him to the rest.

Are Chelsea and Utd fans like some kind of arms brothers, now that they both went through the full JM experience?
It's funny, for all the shit he gets, and trust me he has turned into a banter manager, he is still the greatest manager in Chelsea history, by some distance too.

I find this a bizarre comment because Mourinho is, in my opinion, the definition of a one way manager. He plays pragmatic football. He always plays defensive in the big games. He always has a target man striker and never wishes to rotate it. He is poor promoting the youth. He nearly always has a third season melt down. His key strengths are delivering trophies in the first two seasons of his management.

He looked very comfortable with Keys and Gray last week. Think he might have found his next calling.

Same birthday as the boss, can’t get any nicer than that,

Happy birthday Brendan

He'll get on well with Nostrodamus Keys:
Keys' blog said:
What on earth is going on at Manchester United? Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer. Really?

How many more times can Ed Woodward get it wrong? I don’t know Ole. I’m told he’s a lovely guy. He’s a legend at United that’s for sure - but what else about the former Molde manager, who had a disastrous spell in charge of Cardiff, qualifies him to take over from Mourinho? The answer is - nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Jose was one of the best managers in the world, has great passion for the game & got us the Europa League & League Cup.

Things didn’t work out but let’s not try & make out he’s hopeless. Hope he does well in his next job

For all the things he done bad, he also was able to attract world class talent in Pogba and he got rid of Rooney. Who no manager before had the balls to do when he clearly was past it, and handled it great IMO.

Happy birthday Mou, great manager just not suited for this club.

Brought Pogba, won the Europa League (that final will always feel special after the Manchester arena attack), was the reason we got to see Ibra in a Utd shirt at the tail end of his career and handled Rooney's exit in a very dignified manner.

Not all bad, just not the right fit and handled the issues with the board very poorly. I think the aspect of football that seems to promote pantomime heroes and villains can be a little misleading, I am sure Jose is a decent bloke and not only do I wish him well but I would be surprised if he doesn't go on to do well somewhere at some point.

Happy birthday Mou. Wishing him the best in his future endeavours. It didn't work out at United but he'll forever be remembered as a great manager. I for one was a big fan. Might even still achieve greatness before he retires. And for stopping the 'Pool...forever thanks!

HBD JM. Hope you find your new club aka Real, PSG, City clubs (where the bank is limitless and owners' financially motivated). Chao!

I think he will be a success at his next club

Happy birthday and thank you for resting Paul, Tony M, Rash for 1/3 of the season. Maybe he knows that United tradition is always stronger in 2nd half of the season so he took 1 for the team. Top man!

Haha great post!

Happy birthday. Not the worst dressed coach out there. Decent tactician for finals.

If im being nice, I give it a 5.5

Translation from the article - José Mourinho Mourinho makes a fool, this time before an ice hockey match

Happy birthday. Hope you are reunited with your beloved in China.

United did win the Europa League under him, and he did sign Pogba for the benefit of the next manager(s) coming in after him.
Don't bear him any ill will, it just didn't work out. Move on.

Seriously, the man did a decent job of it in the first two seasons. Back in the CL and a couple of respectable trophies on top of that. But the sacking had to happen when it happened, maybe even a month sooner actually. But when you add it all up, he earned what the club paid him. Missing out on the CL and being mired in a Moyesian midtable would have been calamitous for the club.

I hope that's nice enough!

Oi! His birthday was ages ago, keep up with the current trend! today is Phil Jones' birthday!
