Israeli - Palestinian Conflict

Does Hashemite Jordan have the right to exist, with it being the creation of a 1940's superpower that denies it's Palestinian population equal rights?

Why shouldn't there be on the table a solution that includes that large chunk of the territory once called Mandatory Palestine?

This is what a two state solution was supposed to look like......

According to the spokesperson of Palestinian Ministry of Health Dr. Ashraf Qedra د.أشرف القدرة The Zionists have intentionally targeted 6 ambulances, 3 Emergency Medical Centers as well as targeting the surroundings of several hospitals including Gaza European Hospital. So much damage was reported.

Idiotic posturing by Hamas - 'we didn't ask for a truce/ceasefire...the Israeli PM did'

Yeah, because the IDF are getting torn a new one....pathetic.

Like some commentators have said, Hamas want a ground offensive - resulting in a couple of Israeli military deaths, maybe another kidnapping. While thousands of those it supposedly represents become cannon fodder....

Just another little tidbit for those having a go at Obama or any US president tbf with regards to being more robust in dealing with Israel.

Latest CNN/ORC Poll

Americans sympathize with Israelis over the Palestinians by a 4 to 1 margin.

So, Republican/Democrat/Independent whatever...the vast majority side with Israel, the American President and political establishment HAVE to go along.

Sticking up for Israel might be the one area where there is genuine common ground.

Increasingly tense here in the West Bank. Dozens injured today in clashes. Tear Gas, rubber bullets and live ammunition all used. The main checkpoint into Nablus has been closed due to clashes for most of the day. It's still relatively small at the moment but all it takes is a few of those injuries to become fatalities and it could get worse :(

For those that don't know I run educational projects out here for kids in the villages and refugee camps. I didn't think it would come to this but I'll be up all night tonight keeping an eye on the situation. If the IDF incur into the city or if the violence escalates at all I'll have to consider halting some of our programs :(

I found this interesting.

The point about a terrorist organisation setting up in Canada or Mexico and then attacking the US is a good one. The Americans would start attacking the country and well they practically did the same thing the article says in Afghanistan.

Course in the case of Israel-Palestine it is almost a role reversal at times.

Is that all you've got?

Bet you've done nothing for those poor 40,000 Syrians.

I've been to all of the protests, I've been at meetings with my political party, and I've done projects on the Ba'ath Party which I'd be happy to mail you :)

Don't presume anything about me, you don't know me.

Then how are you finding the time to focus on Gaza? Syria needs your help NOW.

And how can you support Assad's mates in Hamas, let alone Hezbollah who are chopping up Syrian babies???

Well 20,000 people die every day in Africa from extreme poverty, does that mean we should just forget about Syria, and therefore forget about Palestine?

Genocide is genocide, no matter if it's 92 people, or 40,000.

Laughable. I'm embarrassed for you.

Thanks man. Maybe some day you could learn to actually talk to people and not just spout random shit about completely unrelated topics.

Everybody who doesn't want widespread slaughter in gaza is an anti-Semite.

There's a thread on Syria as well. I'm sure your outrage there is many times what it is here given the magnitude of death and destruction there.

Irrelevant, this isn't anything to do with Syria, Riad al-Asaad, Bashar as-Assad or anything else, it's a thread on Israel, and Palestine.

Lots of Muslim countries are Muslim because the Arabs conquered and converted them. Then there's Pakistan whose foundation involved ethnic... let's say relocation, on a vast scale.

There was no ethnic relocation, ethnically pakistanis are Indians only (but dont tell them, they like to pretend to be arabs, persians, mongols, turks depending on there mood :wenger:)

In partition a vast majority of the population stayed in pakistan and Indian. Only a small minority migrated and that was on religious lines. pakistan is a bastard child of imperialism and religious extreism, the results are there for all to see. Both israel and pakistan are creations of the british and both these countries are the causes of unrest and terrorism in west asia and the world.

You have work to do.

No doubt more Syrians have been killed during the duration of our chat.

You could have been on another thread campaigning, rightly so.

Answer my question.

If Israeli's were Muslim instead of Jewish then you wouldn't give a toss

Is there any need for that? Disagreeing with someone is one one thing, but to label them a racist because they don't share your views is quite another. I bet you think the likes of Norman Finkelstein, Noam Chomsky and Ilan Pape are all anti-Semites too who would have changed their mind had Israeli's been Muslims instead huh?

No shit. I figured that out the first time you pointed it out. The point still stands. If you're going to magically appear in this thread to proclaim your outrage on the Israeli/Palestinian issue, then surely your proclivity towards online humanitarianism should extend to the situation in Syria where upwards of 30,000 have died. You need to show a degree of consistency on such matters if you're taking a moral position.

Funnily enough, I didn't mention anything to do with Judasim, other then Zionists think they have a right to a Jewish state.

If that's anti-semetic then so be it.

Norman Finkelstein, Noam Chomsky and Ilan Pape are the biggest anti-semites.

And yes, I know exactly what I just wrote.

Just because I didn't post in a thread, doesn't mean I don't care.

Palestine has a special place in the hearts of the Irish left, so I'll be vocal in this thread as long as it's here.

To say that I don't care about Syria, is a bit silly.
