It is really sad to hear everyone’s feelings on this, and it appears we all feel the same level of helplessness and disillusionment.
However, I do feel that the past 18 months have awakened a renewed push for Palestinian freedom and there are way more people around the world now who are aware of what is happening and the history of this than ever before. That in itself is a huge step forward in my opinion. Ignorance is the main initial obstacle usually.
I also feel that the Zionists want this. They want us to be despondent and brow beaten so they can continue with their plan to ethnically cleanse the Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank, and furthermore, come out of it with the same level of standing in the world. This cannot be the case and will not be the case.
I was political to a degree before October 7th but since then I have become even more politically active than ever before, and even got involved in local government as a result.
I just felt I needed to do something, and help in any way I can as I was sick of seeing the wrong types of people in power in national and local governments who were controlling the discourse and narrative.
What has dawned on me is the level of racism in western societies towards Muslims and the apathy to dead brown kids.
I do feel we need to keep going and protesting, talking about Palestine and tryino to get into positions where we can make a difference however small. It’s going to be a long road still from this point but there is no turning back for most of us now. I might not see a free Palestine in my lifetime but I have told my kids about it and will continue to educate them on this as the fight needs to be continued by the next generation.
