Watching the liberal world order collapsing in real time
One of our charity organisers and his two year old nephew were killed last night... it was only a few weeks ago we coordinated with him and raised funds so he could provide food for the people in his little community in Khan Younis...
This is unconscionable, and the whole of the western governments are just sitting there and watching Netanyahu and the maniacs in his government kill innocent people for a land that does not belong to them! Disgusting!

No one in the media or western governments cares enough about Palestinians being massacred to lift a finger or a phone to help them.
People of colour around the world realise now that the rules based order, International Law and humanity don’t apply to us. It was all a sham, an illusion, telling us we are all equal in the eyes of the law, when in fact we are deemed less than human and our lives are worthless.

The fact that there have been zero repercussions on Israel from any of the western countries is absolutely sickening and stinks of double standards. They have been allowed (and in some instances encouraged) to carry out this mass genocide without any fear of any consequences.
On the other hand, they are up in arms about what is happening to Ukraine.

I take it that our esteemed Western politicians are waiting for Hamas to retaliate just so they can start the clock and the proper condemnations, notably towards Hamas for 'breaking' the ceasefire.
Which really and truly makes you wonder what other mainstream truths and facts about the world aren't so true. Israel has always been the good guy in the west, generations and generations of western people have been indoctrinated to think so.
I am amazed when i see people thinking media is free in west but no so much in Russia and China, and east in general. Like, it is almost the same, with method of opression being the main difference.
And Netanyahu gets one of his targets: Ben Gvir's back in the government.

All secondary no one should care about goals. There's only one goal that matters for a piece of shit like him and that's killing all Palestinians.
Restarting the war was a big one, as now his right-wing extremists partners will not have a reason or an excuse to leave the government.
Other than that, Pass the budget later this month, which would probably ensure his government's survival for while longer. Cause more delays to his trial (his testimony today was cancelled, of course...).

The political nonsense is the tool. He sees himself as a sort of messianic figure. Getting rid of Palestinians and reshaping the region as he loves to say is the real goal and the legacy he wants to leave.

I was raised to be egalitarian, so I’ve found it surprising how racist the world is. As LBJ said:
“If you can convince the lowest whites man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him someone to look down on and he’ll empty his pockets for you.”
And that’s without considering religion telling us that the in group is holy and everyone else is damned.
And this is the result, slaughter can be portrayed as noble and virtuous.

Maybe, but it's not his priority. It's about his own political survival and staying out of jail. The war serves him, so it continues.
He had plenty of years to kill Palestenians and was always too afraid of wars.
Now that he's standing trial he's escalated. But make no mistake, it stopping the war will serve him better politically, that's what he'll do.

Don't think it has anything to do with being racist. USA are going to back Israel no matter what, European countries going against Israel is going to have negative consequences at a point where we don't really need more negative consequences.

Not racist? Then why the double standards? The western historical colonial powers were all built on racism and slavery. And that racism is still alive today.
And if we are talking about it being beneficial to look away from what Israel is doing then that’s clearly a mistake. Most of the geopolitical issues in the ME are due to the Palestinian issue. Palestinian statehood would eradicate that. Why would Hezbollah, Iran and the Houthis attack Israel if the Palestinians were free? Backing Israel in this genocide is foolish and will not result in either Palestinians or Israelis being safe.

A member of our group does online teaching through a charity for some students primarily in the North of Gaza. This is what one of the students sent her. The child is 14 years old:

Do not forget Gaza in your prayers. Do not leave it alone in its struggle. Pray for its people to have patience, for its martyrs to find mercy, for its wounded to heal, and for the missing to return. Your voice and your prayers are powerful weapons.

I will also say that the way the various western governments are moving, no one is safe no matter race or colour or whatever. Total disregard for anyone who dissents.
It was only a few weeks ago we had a fund raising event and we got some of the students to call in - many couldn't because of the situation there - and they were so hopeful that they were coming towards the end but then this happens..
I should say these kids are amazing. They sent in their artwork and their poems reflecting on this war and everything they feel. Your heart breaks because children shouldn't be facing any of this at their young age.
There's several other reasons rather than racism. In terms of it being beneficial, we're already at risk of the US cutting more ties to Europe and Nato, going against Israel would tip it over.
They are amazing. Children should experience nothing other than love and affection, and should not be subjected to the horrors that the children in Gaza and the West Bank have experienced.

I think a reason why European countries do more helping Ukraine than Palestine is 1) that war is on their continent 2) Russia unlike Israel is already waging a cyberwarfare and other damaging activities against Europe
I’m obviously appalled by what’s happening in Gaza and hate Netanyahu to the bits, but IMO it’s intellectually lazy to simplify it „oh the West is all racist and only cares when white people die”, also extremely unfair and dismissive towards millions of Europeans sending help to Gaza, pressing their governments and genuinely helping Palestinians.
