ISIS in Iraq and Syria

Speaking to a few of my folks back home, they say the army has the ISIS running. Tikrit is more or less back in the government's hands, Mosul's people are starting to turn on the ISIS with the army launching coordinated attacks by air. I suspect it won't be long till they're pushed back to the Syrian border or to their passport nations of Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

I suppose we have Putin to thank for his Su-25s :)

Whose flying them?

Everybody panic ISIS are coming - what a load off bull. I posted few weeks ago that ISIS will replace Al-Qaeda in world politics.. Got boared of them I guess they need a new toy now.

What does it say in the area right of what is currently Western Turkey?

Grab Italy and Gaul and it sort of looks like the old Roman Empire with a few bits added.
The certainly chose a depressing colour in black to mark their "Roman Empire" I guess it will go well with their ugly black beards and long dresses.

Oh man, someone tell them never to get involved in a land war in Russia or it's over. Also, the old German joke about the difference between 1000 years and eternity, which, although I can't recall it verbatim at the moment I believe the answer is 2.

Kurdistan.

Maybe thats why Barzani was rumoured to be funneling them weapons via Erbil
Funnelling ISIS weapons? Are your parents hardcore Talabanis or something? Even Barzani isn't that stupid.

Just as a random point: The day Kurds learn to stop defending their political parties shortcomings for the greater good of Kurdistan, is the day of true freedom.

No I don't care for the fatman either. I did shamefully jump on the Goran bandwagon a few years back till I realised it was the same shit under different colours. Barzani is a sneaky cretin like his father was, I wouldn't put it past him to do something as heinous as this.

The feck did his father do?

Is Ocalan a cretin to?

ISIS are basically a bunch of animals fighting with american sneakers on. It's a yank creation created to undermine the muslims even more (thank the neo-cons for that). As a muslim with a western culture, when I see a footage of these animals, I could totally understand hating Islam.

The funniest part was reading that pig Netanyahu backing a Kurdish state. Kurds are the useful idiots in this story. Who said divide and conquer ?

As a part ethnic Kurd, I'm sure you will do the right thing and support Bibi Netenyahoo on this.

He's a friend of the Turkish military establishment. He's basically cursed us with this approval. Turkey have also shown to be willing of an independent South Kurdistan, the last time Bibi did this with Turkey was when Ocalan was captured.

The only time support and recognition will matter is if it comes from the US/Russia. I support an alliance with Israel but I am wary of Bibi, the timing of this statement really does look dodgy.

What about Turkey providing a route for foreigners into Syria to fight for Isis? What about them providing a safe haven and aid to injured ISIS fighters? Not everything has to be because of America!

He was a vociferous Zionist.

Well he's obviously trying to create a coalition of the reasonable, which would loosen Israel's perceived isolation in the region. The true test will come from the likes of the US, EU, and UN.

Never thought I'd hear Netanyahu, Barzani and Erdrogan being associated with reason. Must be a pretty interesting dinner party mind you.

Turkey is an American backyard.

I'd fully expect those three to come off as reasonable in contrast to the likes of Saddam, Assad, and Khamenaie

An Israeli-Kurdish alliance is needed though, the Arab countries have done us no good and can get fecked if they're annoyed by it.

It would benefit Israel, but how would it benefit Kurdistan ?
  • Provides modern weaponry to the Peshmerga.
  • Economic support as we will be selling them oil, they allegedly bought the first delivery of oil earlier this month.
  • Historical ties and common enemies.
  • Closer relations and ties with the US?
That's what I can think of from the top of my head, I lack knowledge on Israeli-Kurdish relations.

It is because of America. Like Pakistan,Saudi, etc Turkey is another American puppet.

Nope. It's because the Turks don't want a Kurdish force on their borders, they provide a route for the ISIS in the hope that they can beat off the YPG.

Still baffled by this post, Kaos. The only thing I see is that the Peshmerga received training from Mossad in the 60s, how is he a zionist? You just seem to be a bitter Arab who is annoyed about independence coming. ;)

With America's blessings. What if Turkey's interest clashes with America's interest in Iraq. Do you think turkey will go against it's masters (America) wishes, no chance. Don't worry about the "Kurds in their border" there will be a civil war within Turkey if they go against America's interest in Iraq.

Turkey is just another "head office" for America, just as Pakistan was/is during Afghanistan invasion.

I find this Kurdish-Israeli love-in very much amusing. Especially as the Kurds remain oblivious to the fact that what the Palestinians are currently having to endure is very similar to the historical Kurdish plight. Wonder if we'd feel the same way towards our cuddly Zionist cousins if it was the British Mandate of Kurdistan which was their chosen land.

I also don't understand the 'common enemy' argument either. The Arabs? Saddam is dead, his Ba'athi aides are all dead or in jail. Iraq is in tatters, Syria is in tatters, Jordan is just one glorified retirement home for terrorists whereas the Gulf States are too busy investing in Wahabi extremists, Skyscrapers and corrupt World Cup bids. Lucky for us the Arabs don't care for the Kurds and have a lot more pressing issues on their plate. Ironically enough the only sincere enemy for the Kurdish people is Turkey - and they're pretty close buds with the Israelis, so Kurdistan would find itself as Bibi describes it - in an 'alliance of moderation' with the same people who've terrorised them for centuries . But hey anything to antagonise those pesky, malevolent Arabs eh?

Oh and closer ties with the US. Remember when the Yanks told you to start an uprising against Saddam and that they'd back you? And remember them coming good on their promise and coming to your rescue when Saddam responded by murdering thousands of Kurds in retaliation? Yeah me neither.

I'm just as much Kurdish as I am Arab mate, in fact probably more so. The problem is most Kurds get stuck in their "BIJI KURDISTAN!" manic flag-waving ways and are unable to separate emotional from logical reasoning.

No friends but the mountains as they say! :)

We need to catch up on life, you have changed.

Would you consider yourself more Lebanese, Syrian, Iraqi, or Kurdish ?
