Manchester United are chasing the signature of rising Spanish star Isco.

The 20-year-old winger is the jewel in the crown at Malaga but the club’s financial situation means they will listen to offers.

Spain Under-21 star Isco is considered one of the brightest talents in his homeland and, after scouting him, United have made discreet enquiries about his availability.

United will now wait to hear whether or not the youngster is open to a move and what it would take to land him.

A formal approach could even follow this week.

Isco cost Malaga around £4million when he joined from La Liga rivals Valencia a year ago.

His contract still has another four years to run and includes a buyout clause of around £20m.

Isco was part of the Spain squad which was expected to challenge for the Olympic title but crashed out in the group stage.

I wonder how we came to be randomly linked with him? I only saw him a couple of times for Valencia but from his Malaga video posted here the other day he seems to play as a left sided playmaker, a lot like Giggs has done for us in the past.

Cheap talented youngster who can play centrally or on the wing?

Nah let's spend 30 million on lucas moura instead.

Looks very good there. Shades of Iniesta. No idea what he's like in a full match, mind.

Aren't Malaga rich at the moment?

There were some skills and touches there that reminded me more of Iniesta (particularly that flick over to the opposite foot to take him past his man), but I suppose the Silva comparison is a good one too given the positions he was taking up.

Anyone seen a fair bit of him?

Not anymore. They've been put up for sale by their owners and have cash trouble, they are due some payment for players signed last year.

It's not that random. We'll be linked to any young talented player that becomes available in Spain. Madrid and Barca are basically fully stocked and the rest of the clubs have no money to spend. With Malaga needing fast cash, the PL is the obvious place to look and United like young players.

No, their "sugardaddy" owners want out. No idea what put them off football so quickly but they want to sell the club. No suitors so they are just cashing in on their star players and eliminating wage costs.

That's how Arsenal got Cazorla so cheap. Basically, anyone in the Malaga team is up for sale. They will be a disaster next season, very sad for Málaga fans.

So, in short, it's all a-bit random, really

Perhaps they've realised that only two clubs are allowed to compete for the title in Spain. They should've known better though, a top 4 finish was a great achievement for Malaga in their first season since takeover and it's a shame Pellegrini won't be allowed to continue building the team.

Isn't he supposed to be one of the biggest talents in Spain? Why are you convinced he won't cost a huge fee?

Also, how many games have you seen Lucas Moura play? And are you sure he is incapable of playing centrally?

I didn't mean it that way, just that Lucas is very much a wide player

Ah, right. But if he's technically gifted can he not be capable of playing there occasionally after a few years when his game is more refined? For example, Nani would have been a disaster in central areas when he came to United. Now he's become a clever enough a player to do well there if needed IMO.

Also, I'm not sure why that poster thinks we need another option in the middle. We have Rooney and Kagawa who naturally play a central attacking/forward role as well as Giggs who can do a job there. And like I said, Nani has improved his overall game enough to fill in as well.

From what I understand, they're primarily interested in property development and wanted to do a lot of stuff in Malaga. They met with a lot of resistance from the council or whatever is the Spanish equivalent, so bought the football club as a kind of bribe, if you like. Now they've got their foot in the door, in terms of developing, they no longer give a feck about the club and want rid.

I'd counter that Nani will never be a CAM

I think it's needed but if you can't hit a home run with a player like that, you bolster your squad according to it's strengths - although I don't necessarily understand stockpiling wing players...Still, Kagawa will help solve a lot of questions for the attack...I think missing out on Oscar will continue to be a bitter pill, much more than Hazard was for many fans here

Isco would be a fine addition for United, he's a classy player

Someone was probably browsing the Cazorla thread  Oh video on a manchester united forum, lets link him with them.

We didn't want him... Plus he's not very versatile compared to a Hazard, Lucus, Kagawa type player.. He offers more in the middle than anywhere across the front line.

Calm down, jest.

Only going on what the Caftards are saying

Oscar's played on the wing plenty himself.

That sounds like a pretty accurate guess of the process of English sports journalism.

Shame we aren't really interested as he looks quality and adding another small technical player capable of playing across the front line wouldn't hurt.

He has talent no doubt about it, I've been saying for a few years that he has the quality to play for the Spanish national team. However I'm not sure how much football he'd get competing with Nani, Valencia and Kagawa specifically and most likely having first team chances would be important to him if he leaves his hometown club he only joined a year ago.

He can play anywhere, even deeper in CM, ie he's more versatile that any of those three.

Wouldn't mind Isco if we get can get him on the cheap. He is pretty talented and is a up and coming youngster.
