They're both massively important. We can't ignore the RW spot again, and Cavani has made it blatantly clear what we've been lacking.

It's also taught us that a RW still is much required. Maybe we didn't go all the way for Sancho because Ole thought Greenwood would suffice at RW this season. At the time that seemed reasonable, but as we now see, that's not working out at all.
I think Ole would be very tempted to give Diallo some serious minutes in the second half of the season to see if he could make the step already, making buying Sancho unnecessary.
I think we will go back for him though.
Wouldn't be surprised, and the total fee will probably still be in excess of €100m so that Dortmund can save face, but it'll be structured differently so that it's say €70m up front with the rest subject to targets, and the full price dependant CL wins, Ballon D'or etc.

Do you think they will go for sancho now that they have diallo and pellistri? That would leave us with three players all within 2 years of each other in age, equal potential, in the same position ...
Such question can only be answered at the end of the season when Diallo has played. I don't see Pellistri making much if any impact on the first team this season, he'll be a question mark for a little while longer.
Personally, and controversially perhaps, I still wouldn't adversed to signing him for the LW even if Diallo is an absolute beast. Because I think he'd deliver better than Martial and link up well with the current version of Shaw we're seeing at the moment. Sancho is versatile, exactly what Ole seems to like from his forwards.
Of course this is ignoring what would happen to Rashford, but I'm just throwing ideas out there, clearly Rashford is rightfully one of the first names on the team sheet and long may that continue.
I think it depends on what skillset Ole wants from a CDM. Does he want another Matic to sit in front of the back four? Does he want a young Carrick who can win the ball but also provide defence splitting passes for the counter attack? Or does he want a Kante type player who will go searching for the ball, not sit in position but chase down higher up the pitch and allow Utd quicker transitions closer to opponents goal?
Also if we lose Pogba this summer then we lose his ability for that long pass from deep in midfield. DVB has a different skillset. So how do we replace that long pass from midfield? Theres also the question of height. Both Pogba and Matic are tall. Useful in winning first balls from goal kicks and defending/attcking corners. Loose Matic as well then Mctominey is our only 6 foot plus midfielder.
Therefore i dont think its as straightforward as buy player X. It depends on what Ole wants player X to be able to do and whether he is a replacment for Pogba or Matic.

You have to remember that half the Diallo fee is add-ons. It's basically what we spent on Dalot and James otherwise.
£20m is still a lot for a player that hasn't started a game at first team level. It would make little sense to me to sign him for £20m and then wait 3 months for him to arrive and then proceed to sign someone more established. And Sancho for me isn't a RW player long term and is naturally best suited to playing on the left. Diallo is naturally a inverted wide forward for the RW and I believe the club will give him every opportunity to make the spot his own. Whether he lives upto the faith placed in him remains to be seen. But I would personally hope we still go out and sign Sancho or Grealish for the left and try Rashford through the middle again. Sancho could still fill in at RW if needs be but he probably won't have the same impact as he had last season due to having a very attack minded Hakimi, playing behind him.
