Is Jadon Sancho really worth the 100 plus million fee?

I can't really imagine any swift movement in regards to transfers with this transfer committee in charge. I don't expect anything to happen before euros. Euros is actually a pretty good excuse for these fecks to continue acting like snails in the transfer market.
It's funny because it genuinely seems like we do absolutely 0 negotiations during the season. People joked around with this, but I actually think it's the case. How many clubs have targets they just sort out in advance of the season? Yet for us it genuinely seems like we only start negotiations after the season is done and hope another team hasn't gotten in ahead of us.

Sancho is 21 years old and english - if he is a success he can solve a big problem for the next 10 years. If United want him - does it really matter if he costs £65M or £78M - he will still be a very good investment

It honestly should be the easiest deal of the summer. The beauty of getting Sancho is that he’s equally effective on the left and right, so you can give Rashford serious competition as well along with the other benefits of playing Mason as our 9.

I suspect there's still a long way before we are close to this deal. A lot of negotiations, back and forth etc as was the case last summer. Dont expect anything to happen quickly.
There really shouldn't be any delay in getting this done if we're serious about closing the gap to City. I am sure we know Dortmund's price (they've been quite up front about being willing to let Sancho go). We also know that Dortmund won't budge and still have the upper hand as Sancho has 2 years left on his contract so there's no point in trying to play chicken up until the window closes.

We’ll probably wait till we move people off the books. Let’s just say we somehow buy Varane for 45mil, Saul for 45 mil and Sancho for 75 mil. How you gonna look West Ham or prospective buyers in the face and tell them you want 30mil or more for Jesse?

I think we’ll wait till we see some outgoings, I wouldn’t be surprised in the rumour of net spend is real and we have to come in at 150mil at Max for our spending.

That would be class window with a bit of Trippier thrown in as backup RB

Yes but this is us. We do everything the hard way.

I keep seeing people mention he is better on left than right. Is that the case here or he is equally good on both side?

80m for right winger should be no brainer. Woody get it done as your parting gift

He’s good on both sides, which can be a huge boost for Rashford and Greenwood. For the first time in several years, we’d have real competition for places in our attacking 3.

Good on both sides but now appears more on the left, where he’s been much more productive and looks better suited.
We’ve got young options coming through on the right, in Amad and Pellistri, but it’ll be a couple of seasons before they are properly ready (...if they develop well), so Sancho can do a job there as well in the meantime.
Sancho would not only provide competition for Rashford, but could also be an upgrade.
There should be no sentimentality about players. If Rashford doesn’t get back from his dire form, whether that’s caused by injuries or not, then there should be no qualms about offloading him, just as we should with any player that fails to fulfill their promise.
If he does recover his form, then all the better for our squad depth.
If we really want to be a top challenger against the standard being set by others, we have to be that ruthless.

Weirdly, the circumstances should work for us. Was kinda hoping Dortmund wouldn’t make the CL and thus be forced to sell at a cut rate price. In hindsight, our transfer *team* (Ed, mind you), would bollocks it up by negotiating over every last point, thinking that BVB would HAVE TO drop the asking price. Now, they’ve stated their price, Ed is on his way out after the SuperLeague clusterfeck and the diabolical Glazers are facing fan unrest.

Given the drama of last summer’s chase, I won’t be fully convinced he’s actually coming until I see him on the team sheet and lining up for kickoff at Old Trafford. Hopefully wearing our kit, I might add...

@Damien is this the official Sancho thread for the summer? If yes, could we have a normal transfer forum thread title?

If he is that good on left he can cover Martial/Rashford too

What about Sancho(80) and Grealish(70) + Saul(40) this summer by selling Martial(50) , Pogba(50), Jesse(20)and VDB(40)==-190+160=-30M
