Easy to stay at the club when we're finishing 1st or 2nd every year. Not even a remotely comparable situation. He doesn't represent what the club stand for, he's all about himself and united players aren't known for that, Giggs, Scholes, Neville, Rio, Ole put the club first, even Rooney despite threatening to leave twice stayed giving the club his best years.
Ronaldo only play for one team team Ronaldo.
ThisDepends on what your own individual definition of a legend is. He is by no means up there with the true royalty of Manchester United. A tier below perhaps, but if you aren't in the very top tier, can you be classed as a legend?
A person who hails from the Iberian Peninsula wants to play for the biggest team in Madrid, shock horror
Are Schmeichel, Andy Cole and Denis Law legends, then?
He left when we were on top too didn't he?Easy to stay at the club when we're finishing 1st or 2nd every year. Not even a remotely comparable situation.
He came here because we were 2nd, and he (and we) thought he was the key missing for a potential PL.Easy to stay at the club when we're finishing 1st or 2nd every year. Not even a remotely comparable situation.
I don’t care about that. Ronaldo will still have won more at United than Cantona.
That’s well articulated. For me, Ronaldo is a club legend, but it doesn't mean that everyone has to like or respect the decisions he's made when he's been here, his legend is more for pure ability rather than for loyalty or affinity to the club.
And still his fanboys will sing Viva Ronaldo. Same fans who keep repeating phrase that nobody is bigger than United.No. Doesn't matter how good he is as a player, he has treated the club like a disposable napkin twice now
I’m pretty sure all the Ronaldo trophies you mentioned have been won in 6 seasons not 7. He played 7 seasons but it took him 6 to win the trophies you listed.Cantona won his in 5 seasons, Ronaldo in 7.
I’m pretty sure all the Ronaldo trophies you mentioned have been won in 6 seasons not 7. He played 7 seasons but it took him 6 to win the triphies you listed.
You said Cantona won his in 5 seasons. I’m saying Ronaldo won his in 6. Anyways I like them both.Im talking in terms of their total time with us.
This thread has already been done. No, he isn't, a legend don't push for a move before he even hit his prime to join a lesser team.
You said Cantona won his in 5 seasons. I’m saying Ronaldo won his in 6. Anyways I like them both.
The difference is minimal:
Cantona won the league x 4 and FA Cup x 2.
Ronaldo won the league x 3 along with 1 each of the CL and FA Cup, and the League Cup x 2.
Cantona won his in 5 seasons, Ronaldo in 7.
My statement was: “Won more than Cantona here”
Ronaldo has won more titles than Cantona at United
