Iran v US confrontation

Doubt it. There is no reason for Russia or China to destroy themselves if the US uses some tactical nukes in Iran.
No. But there would be reason for Russia, China, India, Pakistan to think tactical nukes against countries other than the US are fair game.

If anyone uses a nuke, including the US against Iran, then there's a strong chance of an extremely rapid spiralling of events into a WW3. Almost all the MAD scenarios start with attacks on smaller nations escalating into global conflict.

Doubt it would reach that point: US is brave, but they also know their enemy has extremely clever intelligence strategies and also possess the knowledge to make nuclear and biological technology.

This all thing is going on because Mossad believes Iran is developing a parallel nuclear project, despite the UN delegates (that contain US observers) saying they saw nothing terribly shocking after visiting their facilities.

Does this not sound worryingly familiar for a reason Iraq was attacked the second time? All we are missing is a murdered scientist.

Anyone who believes Iran would be a match for the US and/or any coalition needs a reality check. Using Iraq and Afghanistan to prove this point is mute as Western Forces have developed and learnt significantly since these conflicts for the reasons already outlined. The technology and tactics are much improved. Tried and tested so to speak. Western Forces are far better designed to cope with another war in the region than they were in Iraq and Afghanistan.
In some ways I don't think this even matters because imho a more likely scenario is that Iran lashes out at other countries in the region rather than seeking a direction confrontation with western militaries. They are within direct striking distance of some major strategic points in the ME.

We sure learned a lot from Vietnam

Is Russia's Avangard Nuclear system really much more advanced than anyone else's or is it propaganda? Looks like nukes from space.

not yet - its around 10:20 in washington... so if its going to be in the morning like trump tweeted then you would have thought there would be some announcement about timings... perhaps it wont happen and he will just tweet something instead
He s probably not even awake yet. Isn't he technically still on vacation? he also has to watch F&F first for advice.

Yes and we can’t use Iraq or Afghanistan as reference points since there were both counterinsurgencies that employed an entirely different approach involving securing cities, working with locals, infusing money for economic stimulation etc. A vast majority of military power was therefore never used.

The US and Iran don’t have an appetite for an occupation, which is why most scenarios would point to everything from a lot of bluster and intentional misses to assuage substate domestic sentiment but not actually go to war.

That wouldn’t however eliminate a full on conflict from happening since mistakes do happen and/or leaders miscalculate how the opposition may respond.

This might be true, but for all the tried and tested improvements, the situation is still such that the anti-Western guy won in Syria, the Taliban are essentially stronger than they were before the invasion, and Iraq is increasingly hostile. The US could absolutely bomb Iran into the stone age, no one has ever suggested they couldn't.

Trump has a good opportunity to show some fake diplomacy now. Let's hope he takes it before he makes another terrible decision again.

He's going to say something about the plane crash and then shrug in that stupid way he loves to do it.
hes going to announce a peace breakthrough with the ayatollah - who coincidentally is about to announce Iran is investigating reports that corrupt hunter biden blew the plane up under instruction from sleepy joe because it had crooked hillarys server on it
actually that would be better than the impending explosions and humanitarian disaster Im expecting

Were any casualties/injuries, from the Iran Air strikes ever confirmed from a reliable source?

Finance is a ticking bomb for america.

Another war, and the pension of babyboomer coming in, extreme deficit, it could go ugly in the long run.

The dessert storm in iraq has taken the world by surprises, but as the americans are tied there nations have developed counter weapon for their airforce. Russia anti aircraft missile is designed specifically to counter american airforce. The americans arsenal while still the biggest in the world is getting less impressive. Technology allows the gap to be closer. Unless they're developing some next gen alienshit i doubt they have anything that russia dont have

I was with you until that last sentence. I've read a lot about us military tech, have friends in the military and have personally seen things that I know are well beyond the scope of what you tend to see. There is a lot of classified equipment out there for instance that technically doesn't exist - and some of it they love to try out in a combat arena. Think of one example the public did get to know a bit about : the heavily modified Black ops helicopter used for the Bin Laden raid. And we only know because one crashed that they blew up themselves to hide the evidence of it. It technically didn't exist.

Really doubt there were any US / UN army casualties, otherwise it would be all over the press.

So trump killed their famous general that they are all mourning over, and their response that all feared for, was to shoot , and then ask for de escalation?

Edit : I definitely think this isn't the end I think this is just a public response and they will much more likely have some sort of deadlier response where they can deny accountability

How long left until donny trump finishes off his pack of animal crackers and gets in the last sip of grape juice, it should begin soon right?
